The BMW iX1 is a luxury EV, but the Toyota bZ4X offers a well-rounded package with Toyota’s legendary durability, good range, and advanced safety-all at a great value.
I TESTED all 4 cars, Audi e-tron, Skode enyaq, Bmw ix1 and Vw id4.......... went for the skoda enyaq coupe sportline plus 4 wheeldrive,it was a Amazing drive and Spec! And iv been driving Bmw and vw cars all my life!!.

BMWs aren't my thing, for all sorts of reasons, but I cannot believe that a car costing fifty grand or so doesn't have height adjustment on the seat belts. My last two cars - a Mazda Three and a Volvo V Forty - have both had adjustable belts and they were both pretty much entry level models. I'm six feet tall and my wife is just over five so it's a must have in any car that we use.
Rotary controls gone, touchscreen insanity..it’s so dangerous having to take your eyes of the road, and cost cutting is ridiculous..no wonder they are losing sales

They have a knew mode for the discerning BMW driver to enjoy, when you need some grunt while overtaking they have installed South Pacific mode yes you guessed it its Happy torquey torquey happy torque
I just bought the BMW i4, EV it's a week old today, 31.5.24 milage is totally incorrect, with an 85% charge giving me 170 miles way less than expected, door bins are totally rubbish, I have a kick plate, wow, my main concern are the vast amount of apps you have to mess about with, I have the Tech pack plus so have the head-up display which is useful, power is pretty awesome with rear-wheel drive, faster you go the milage will drop like a brick, there are some plus's but many zero's, things like the car knowing I'm turning a corner as I've put the indicator on it starts to brake itself, a bit unsettling, but also knowing there is a car in front it starts to brake. My previous car was the X1 iDrive 2.ltr twin-turbo, awesome engine but not as fast as the i4 to start the x1 would go to approx 150mph the i4 max speed is 118mph it's all the weight of the battery plus only 1 electric motor, overall I'm somewhat disappointed but it's still very early.
Try reading the manual on “settings “ and you’ll quickly learn that you can adjust all the assistance settings, I notice a lot of people moaning about things on you tube instead of spending their time actually doing some research 🧐
It sounded very noisy in the cabin against the volume of your voice. I'm interested where your microphone was placed? - it sounded like you had a window lowered.
Get a family of four with no off street parking and deadlines to meet to review these battery cars. The reviews always seem to be a single person out on a jolly with all the time in the world.
The German car industry is doomed and this is another nail in the coffin...This car just make me vomit and after looking at the price list I am off for ever. Where is the elctricity coming from after we start the war with Russia and all our Young man are gone?
Honestly drove the iconic5 and was ok with the steering expected the bmw xi to be miles ahead as the feel from my old x2 was superb i absolutely hated the x1 steering far to light honestly please try before you buy hope this helps
You do not need to go in to the screen to change the items mentioned, including heating and ventilation. Before reviewing the car try reading the manual. Had an X1 for a year and all can be changed by voice commands which actually work and safer than using buttons

@@jamesstanley7263 I have this car and regularly get 230-250 miles when travelling. The boy is a plumb. Sure I can get less if I want to drive very fast. But to blindly say you basically get 100miles is nonsense. This car is nothing short of brilliant.
Brilliant that you said 62 miles in 8 minutes. Easy to compare cars. 10-80 is good, BUT so many variables (battery size, efficiency, charge speed etc) it’s harder to compare.
Had one for a fortnight when my Model 3 was in the body shop. Good vision and typically light BMW accelerator pedal made it feel reasonably quick but tech felt very old fashioned. Motor control when parking was very crude and made reversing challenging. Extra £150 annual subscription for TACC a bit cheeky and crude manual seats were a disappointment. No wonder the Germans all buy Model Ys. 😮
When are the ‘luxury’ car manufactures going to a) catch up with Tesla and BYD when electric b) cost the same as the petrol and diesel variants were pre Covid. I.e not a gouging stupid price that is not mainstream sellable c) have a cabin that’s designed for humans, I.e levers and buttons , d) last as long as a Mazda. Hmm, I don’t think it’s going to happen, might have to glue a bmw badge on a decent Japanese car , as all that’s left is branding . I’m keeping my Mercedes as there’s no car that satisfies my aforementioned requirements from any luxury brand

All very well, but how long did you live with it for? A month? Two months? What! Only one day? Anyone can do that with an EV, before changing back to their good old ICE. It you really want to review an electric vehicle at least have the nous to do it after it has been your only transport for several weeks. Then you can tell us what it is REALLY like.
Extreemly dark in the rear, just about enough leg room for a child. The paint finnish looks like its still not finnished the boot space is more like a glovebox. 300 miles of driving from a charge is only possible if you only ever travell downhill with the sails up. Cant adjust the headrest or the seatbelt. I personally rejected mine when it arrived.

This is why Tesla's sales are down its because other manufacturers have now caught up but make a better looking car inside and out, Tesla's are a very typical US looking cars were in Europe we have a very different taste. Yes other manufacturers haven't the charging points dotted around with the ease of use like teslas nut they are charging points around now they just need to make them better, to me these charging points need to be built in current petrol station more or build electric stations that also sell food and have a person in hand so any problems can then be reported asap and also someone there for any sillyness by other drivers to other peoples cars etc
Precisely, Tesla's are ugly. That's also why Mercedes doesn't sell that well: ugly, but also expensive, so the Yanks can't be bothered. I personally am waiting until mid-next year with a new car purchase, maybe a bit later for when the new iX3 can be bought second-hand from the dealer. That will be a good-looking car! Or, maybe, the Q6 e-tron.

I got more distracted trying to remember the right voice commands than by just turning a knob.. or even going at the screen 😂

My X1 has kick plates on the front door sills - odd your one didn’t.
It looks like a pretty basic model. Pretty basic sound system as well, the door panel speakers are blanked out here.

This is why Tesla's sales are down its because other manufacturers have now caught up but make a better looking car inside and out, Tesla's are a very typical US looking cars were in Europe we have a very different taste. Yes other manufacturers haven't the charging points dotted around with the ease of use like teslas nut they are charging points around now they just need to make them better, to me these charging points need to be built in current petrol station more or build electric stations that also sell food and have a person in hand so any problems can then be reported asap and also someone there for any sillyness by other drivers to other peoples cars etc
Precisely, Tesla's are ugly. That's also why Mercedes doesn't sell that well: ugly, but also expensive, so the Yanks can't be bothered. I personally am waiting until mid-next year with a new car purchase, maybe a bit later for when the new iX3 can be bought second-hand from the dealer. That will be a good-looking car!
