The Emira looks to be an experience, not just a car. Btw I drive a Kona electric, but I haven't forgot what a proper car should be. That supercharger noise is 😍😍😍😍

Something I was thinking when you were chring with Emma was how well she,and the other team members from Henry come across when you do these handover films, then you said she’d won a prize. These are the sort of people who I’ve always wandered if they existed, as most people I’ve come across,especially when car shopping with my folks (they have new / nearly new budgets and have done for the last forty years). I’m a bit of a car geek so my folks cottoned on by the time I was in my teens - I get told the budget, I do the choosing,arrange the test drives, andspec it. I very rarely got veto’s - even after discovery gate. The only time I did was when I’d recommended a bmw 325itouring, in a cracking spec,then just as we were going to order, my folks found out we were expecting a surprise addition to the family,and we ended up in a Peugeot 505 wagon instead as. a 7 seater was needed! But the sales advisors were just selling metal boxes - they could just as easily be selling tvs or fridge freezers! No prob with that in a way, but when a 13 year old can tell you why it’s a dreadful idea to get a certain car or option you have a problem!

What a beauty. Followed Harry’s Garage Emira journey and I’d love one…just live in the wrong place to really enjoy it.
I have 5.5k miles on mine now. The gear change settled in nicely after a couple of thousand miles, it's a delight now. The bugs are ironed out now, it's a great car - took it to the Swiss Alps last year, the long drive to Switzerland was a breeze. It's a capable GT car too (touring chassis). Enjoy!

I struggle with this a little. But first, it’s important to note that it’s an enormous vote of confidence in your channel and your continuing success. Clearly demonstrates the strength of your position. And it’s richly deserved. Really!!!
The specialist press have struggled to access the Emira though. Chaps I know who have been in the business for over 25 years are still to access one. And customers are still waiting for their cars. But Lotus are happy for relatively fresh UA-camrs to have daily access. Just seems a bit skewed to me but again, in isolation you so deserve these opportunities. Great stuff!

@@PetrolPed Yep but borders on bad PR in my view. They’re not giving you another Astra. They’re giving you a car which is in high demand (or so they say). And if it’s in high demand, why do they need to socialise it?
Think of it this way. When I ordered my M340i I had to wait several extra months because parts were not available. It was frustrating to see online and press material featuring those parts in brand new cars. Just didn’t sit well. Your context may be different as somebody who doesn’t buy new cars?
Anyway, as I said it’s excellent for you. But somebody out there I can guarantee will be ever so slightly peeved at the fact a chap on UA-cam has a car he’s waiting and paying hard cash for. I don’t have the answer. You deserve it. It’s just the way it is I suppose

I feel for Lotus, they are building decent Cars but are struggling with great electric options with a customer base that’s not interested in the most part. Yes that will change and really with the owners having so much money they should be around to see us into a fully electric era. Seen a lotus drivers club up my part of the woods in Scotland west coast while I was on holiday and you just think if they are not grinning while in them then they aren’t alive. Twisty road munching. That’s a Fort William to Mallaig early in the morning B road blaster minding the speed cameras now sit on that route and Fish and Chips for lunch😂 but the feel must be brilliant through the Car on a great road.
I await the true review - The Tracy Verdict, the whine is great all the same reminds me of the original MINI GP. Enjoy.

That dark look black/green would deffo be my choice, and at least Lotus haven't gone the way of their EV's looks, which is sufficiently OTT to make me to call the Electra ugly.
A Lotus long termer. Not to be sniffed at! Watch out for the bugs in May. They’ll love the Edam yellow colour. I worked with a colleague who came from Eastleigh. He told me the anagram of the town is Eagles#!t. Once heard never forgotten. 😉 Hope you feel better soon.

Yes I do like. An iconic British brand in a manual rear wheel drive 400bhp and it's yellow. What more could you want. I have had both a yellow and Orange car in my ownership and other owners with Yellow or Orange cars acknowledge each other which I like. A road trip up to Scotland then on out to The Western Isles where the scenery and beaches are world class would be my vote for what you need to do with the Lotus.

That verdant green is stunning. Similar to the Aston Martin dark Minotaur green.
Interesting to hear how you get on with the supercharger sound. Had one on one of my bikes a few years ago, it was great at first but got tedious after a few months especially on longer trips.

I think P.ped U should tell that to the completely collapsed Chinese EV market… & then perhaps look at what new direction Toyota is now taking after realising that EV’s to replace all other vehicles is just fantasy.
However I still do very much enjoy your channel & it’s honesty excluding this recent EV foray👍🏻

Lovely looking car... Even if I could afford one I doubt I could fit in it - have a long back and neck.
The pups and the Bike as gone out the door with the new long termer .The wife s had a bad cold on and off for the last 3 mths hope yours does not last that long .Enjoy the new car and hope the cold goes away quickly.

Great Ambassador car Pete very special 👏 👍 I think they look mega yes they are more expensive to when first launched as back then people always commented on how they looked more like a supercar for a lot less money..! Saying that all cars have gone up over the last few years.

I didn't like the gear change when l test drove it, so will be ordering the 2.0 version having had a better overall experience when l took a test drive of that.

Shame about the rain. Every two years i pick up my new car I make sure it is dry. If it rains I wait till dry weather. Same with my motorcycles. Tried the lotus...not for me I'll stay with Porsche. Enjoy your long Termer.
Emma is legendary. And my question about the car: Is it worth replacing a 2023 Cayman GTS 4.0 with a V6 manual? I’d love to know what this Emira is like to live with. My Cayman is not a daily driver but it does see a few longer trips a year. I’m interested in how it is for the driver rather than impressing onlookers.

Welcome to the club! A truly stunning car and one of the last of a sadly dying breed. ( V6, petrol, manual, sports car). Definitely following the next month to see how you get on. They have their quirks but are an excellent drivers car, e.g. I'm sure you'll find that the gearbox gets easier as you get used to it and does loosen up just a little as it wears in. I presume yours already has some miles on it and hence you're not restricted to 4000 rpm? Again, epic car, enjoy the next month!

You should try the V6 manual F-type coupe, I got one and it's awesome. I know you reviewed the roadster version but try a coupe on a dry day. I did think of buying the Emira but I was put off by all the issues reported online. Glad I bought the F-type instead.
