This is a great video. You are so right about having your tactic and running it like a tactic sim not being fun. This makes you think and play the game.
Really great video. I think this sort of take on the game is what people are crying for. Would be really cool to see you coming up with your strategy in real time to and see the result and how you react to it in action.
@@alexchisholm1373 thank you buddy! yeah I feel it. Wasn't going to make any videos through fear of getting exploited in games! I stream on twitch on Thursdays! In our NACL Network save.
Nice philosophy ! It's a more realistic point of view , where coaches try to catch the opponents weakness and exploit it, and find the opponent quality and adjust the tactic.
Wow! I have been on the hunt for a video like this for over a week and Thank the God's this one came up on my suggested feed this morning. There are a few about on how to use opposition instructions but your video takes the detail of tactical match up to the next level. Very informative, good work! I have a lot of fun studying various tactical styles and trying to emulate them successfully in football manager. There is plenty of content out there sharing fm tactics and insight into how they work but information on how to use them and adapt on a game to game basis is very scarce. Of course you can download a tactic and win 5-0, but this would likely be because your team UNINTENTIONALLY matched up favorably to the opposition. The skill is in understanding why and this video goes a long way in explaining this. I like the tactical board you use and might have to give that a go! This is however very focused on adaptation. Do you ever hold on to any core ideas on the style or philosophy that you want your team to play and then the adaptations are within this or is this idea of match to match adaptation at the expense of your own identity in style. I guess one might argue the flexibility of your team with the players picked especially for this IS your identity! I guess this is for each player to decide and find a balance. For instance, I am currently enjoying a focus on a high possession based style. Am thinking that focusing on tactical match up could lead to a move away from some of the possession orientated roles and instructions, but on the flip side stopping the oppositions dangerous players on the ball could lead to having more possession anyway. Sorry I've said a lot but this video has really engaged my thinking!
@@paulwolf1403 I loved that you used the word unintentionally, I'm going to steal that for my next video. Yeah that perfectly explains how I feel most people play FM.
I’m usually a plug and play tactic kinda guy, but this really motivates me to change philosophy - incredible series of vids so far! Thanks so much for sharing your insights. Against 433, that you mentioned towards the end, what role and instructions specifically do you put on your AML/AMR to sit narrow out of possession and crowd central area?
@@MJhendo0103 thank you so much. I like inverted wingers over inside forward. I like sit narrower and roam from position in general. Only seen half the video so far but I just want to say that I really like the way your explaining and showing your ideas. I have always excelled at tactics but I struggle with opposition instructions so you showing your thought processes will really help. Big up
Wonderfully informative. One question - what do you do on away games, how do you alternate your tactic? I've always struggled with these - whether that's a stronger team away from home and I cant really hit them on the break because my team's transitions are bad, OR if it's a weaker team that just seems to be impossible to break down for some reason
@@THEmajnik I just don't even think about home or away. I just play and disregard it as a factor. Maybe adjust my team talk. But always play the same way.
Wonderful insight, 100% gonna try this, I do have a question.. How exactly do you have those formations and tactics setup? How many are there and do you need to have them prepared before hand or just change tactic or how does it actually work on FM itself please can someone help
Very interesting content. One question, did you ever tried to use individual marking on players instead of changing formations game to game? Example: the first situation you talked about, the oponent LWB was weak so you put your Winger on the right side as a shadow striker. If you keep the winger on the right but put him pressing the DM left would not have the same result?
