Marlo's outfits were on point. Those "That Girl" faces she made to cue the show open were the cutest and the theme music excellent. Why can't we have shows this good today?
@@annemccarron2281 haha. when someone close to you suddenly changes their appearance ... The summer before college I worked as a waitress, one morning there was a little commotion at a table and I went over to see if something was wrong. It was a family, and the noise was because the wife and children had just noticed that the husband had shaved off his beard. They had all got up, got ready, came into the place for breakfast, and no one had noticed his beard was gone until they had been sitting there for a little bit. So they were all exclaiming, and laughing - I always remembered that.
I can't believe that she made such a big deal about Donald's beard. It was nicely trimmed. My husband has sported a mustache since I met him in 1982, and I LOVE him for it!
Hi. I met my husband in 1984, and he had a mustache all of those years too. I teased him that when he passes I'll have the funeral home shave it off so I can see his naked face. However when he passed, I just couldn't do it. I only saw pictures his mother had of him as a young child with a clean face. Appreciate your husband as is as long as you have him. They don't last forever.
@@BROUBoomer- I do appreciate him very much, but based on our genes he'll probably outlive me. One of the last of his aunts died earlier this year. She was 102, and most of his family lived to be very old.
Both my wives (ex and current) can’t stand her. Current because she can’t take the voice and little girl type antics, expression’s (her words.) Me, 57 year infatuation and growing.
I like Donald's beard. He looks more mature, and sexy. I wonder if he actually grew it. He reminds me of the G.I. Joe action figure. Without Kung Fu Grip.
What an annoying reaction of Anne making Donald feel bad about having a beard, its his face n his choice...how silly to constantly concentrate on that, he looks really nice with it, beards don't suit everyone but it suits Donald....Im guessing she's worried girls will throw themselves at him 🤣 Meanwhile her father is so judgemental, imagine having one of THEM in yr family ...how tiring.
@Beth G 🤦🤦 No need to state the obvious, Pretty sure we have enough intelligence to know Marlo is playing a role written by the writers, my point was what the WRITER'S wrote for her ! Marlo's lines were a bit too much for something so simple, her role was to display an independent woman of the time, THAT didn't mean a man should lose his independence !! to go on n on making him feel guilty for trying something he wanted to do....clearly the writers didn't think of that now did they ??!! Just like the part where there was a 2 yr old at the bubblers all alone until a stranger comes lifting her to have a drink of water...really ??? Where was her parent....😏😕
@@shirleyminassian1547when this aired I didn't know a man with a beard they were not very common clean cut was in do probably why this was written to be so shocking to Ann
Ted Bessell was a really handsome man and his hair in those days looked wonderful, also the beard. Later in the 1970's men startet to look worse to me, especially the hair cuts.
Ruth Buzzi looks like Olive Oyl, in the outfit and hairstyle she wore in this episode. They did not have to draw such a sharp contrast between Pete and Ann. Unattractive vs. beautiful.
I always found this one of the weakest episodes. A whole story about whether a guy should grow a beard or not? The writers must have been desperate that week.
I find this Ann Marie character is disgusting, selfish, over bearing, childish and immature. Seen enough of these episodes to know this is terrible and not funny.
So, MEME which premise for a a 'show', episode is worse ?! The "Threesome"-"He and She and He", where does this one rate ?! There seem to be others in this Season 2 which are as ludicrous, ridiculous, nonsensical, poor What about the idea and concept of and with stretching and extending their 'boyfriend-girlfriend' relationship for so long a period of time, which results in lasting into the 5th Season ?! Certainly many tomost of these episodes and many other topics, stories, plots could also be with them married.
It is dated now because Marlo Thomas succeeded in changing the world. Not just with this show, but also with her follow on project Free To Be You And Me.

I love this show.. nor a tattoo in sight
Such great chemistry between these two
the outfits in this episode are some of my favourites!!
This one about the beard is HYSTERICAL 😂❤
Mind bending how a time in history is given away by the fashion and design
yes,i have always loved Marlo Thomas, i love the opening from the second season,i have a That Girl doll with Ann holding her flag.
I like the necklace she's wearing with the white sweater.
Lovely style in this show.
I like Donald's beard. My husband shaved his ( I had never seen him without it). I could hardly speak to him until it grew back.

He looks great with a beard
I like that people stayed up late and dated during the week. They are both extroverts . Love it !
Don is a good kisser
Don looked good in his beard and Ann looked good in short hair. Glad they both realize it's what's inside that really matters.

I wanted to be that girl when I i was a kid watching this! Love this show!

Ruth Buzzy is so cute
I love the background sounds in this show its so calming
Her clothes are so sharp love them
Ann's father drops in uninvited all the time.

Anne Marie looks stunning in short hair. I actually loved this one.
She looks horrible in short hair… LOL.. very few men are attracted to short hair… they have done tons of research on this

I totally agree
Very handsome! It certainly looks real.
Don looks nice in a close trimmed beard
Ann is acting like she owns Donald. Like he does not deserve to have free will. He keeps trying to accommodate her but she wants things 100% her way.
