Would you believe I am just beginning my painting experiences? In May, I will be 88 years old. I needed a hobby to teach myself to slow down and relax. You are a wonderful teacher!! Thank you. I painted and drew flowers use your ways ,only can paint plower shape and the center ,but not the panel painted well ,so back to learn again.cause to learn the news,so long time not been back to have classes,but I painted lots flowers art works and donated to people or group,they all say beautiful.i don't think the flowers art work of mine are okay ,but don't feel so hard to paint or to draw using your way.thank you teacher for you let me study art class for free.God bless you and good luck.

I get it! I too, did a type of decorative painting, we called it "Tole" painting. I still have some of my work painted on 2 cabinets. They are quite nice. However, you are so right now that I think about it, "They have no life!" You have transcending my old form of art to coming alive; radiant and smiling. The old way I painted makes me think of the Mona Lisa painting; nice painting but sitting still, no life. I been watching and taking notes (doing zero painting, just taking notes) which is the only way for me to get all the information you give into my 'pea brain'. I am determined to incorporate your knowledge into my work. Thank you.

Yes!! That's it! Such a wonderful demonstration of this technique. This is so very very helpful getting into this kind of painting. It can be really a "tool" even for other objects. Thank you for your patience in explaining your petaling technique. You make it very understandable. I finished painting this on the second day after about 5 hours total...that’s not too bad lol!

Doesn't work with all acrylics. Not all acrylics are the same.

I have watched many of your flower paintings and I am wondering if you paint your canvas before you start because I have never seen you paint on white. I would love to hear from you. Your work and teaching skill are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Depends on the technique. I sometimes paint on white, just depends. You can see some flower videos where I start on white. I do both, but mostly a litte color first.
