This is an example of just how much worldwide stressful events can be triggering to those of us with a severe mental illness. I actually think by talking to your hallucinations about the conflict, you are alleviating some of your stress and anxiety about this horrible situation. Keep talking Michelle! ❤
You are genius and it is very strategic to post your very intimate moments with the whole world, You are doing a whole lot for many out there. God Bless❤
I don't think you understand how important your videos are to me. It helps me so much to understand mental disorders while studying the theory of it. Thank you and my biggest respect to you for showing the world this side of your reality.
Thanks for sharing. I have a habit of playing out imagined conversations, scenarios, etc, to work through my own thoughts on it and/or mentally prep for a potential conversation. I don't have schizophrenia, but it's occurring to me that from an outside perspective, it'd probably look much the same if someone caught me at it, with my pacing about the room and seeming to have a quiet but animated conversation with nothing. Obviously, different experiences, it's fully imagined for me, no hallucinations, I can pick it up or drop it at any time. I wonder if processing life with mental scenarios is just a mental habit for humans, maybe because we're so socially complicated as a species. I guess I'm envisioning the schizophrenic experience with this as if my brain just assigned a full hallucination to represent the other side of the conversation, decided it was real or close to it, double and tripled down on it, and the whole thing became inescapable.
I was diagnosed ASD/ADHD as an adult, and I've always done the same kind of thing. Except when I was younger, I'd actually get lost in daydreams and start laughing at something or making hand and facial gestures like I was talking to someone. They weren't hallucinations, but vivid daydreams that I would get lost in. I learned to suppress the gestures around other people, bc it definitely freaks people out. But that whole, "snapping back to reality," sounds very familiar.
Same here, I guess that’s a reason why I love being alone lol I have many conversations in my head in different situations, I completely understand you. I’ve been doing it since teen years.
sounds similar to ocd rumination....acting out the scenarios ..maybe even isolation can cause narration cos there is no one to talk to.. do u write them down .ever though of joining a debating group as an outlet.....ps...you're probably just amazing 🙂
I understand 100%. I once cried several tears in the presence of a painting titled. “Silent screams” I will admit. There were times where it was all too much. And I couldn’t avoid a very loud “Enough!” Or “Stop it!”
I think you were winning the argument. On a serious note, I'm schizophrenic (schizopaffective/depressive type), and I noted you speak quietly to the unseen person. Do you know the one you are talking to is only seen and heard by you? Why else would you speak quietly, as you probably don't speak quietly to anyone, right? I ask this because I don't know when that happens, and I'm usually stunned over what is happening or talk with it like any person. I hope people don't see this video and assume we know when it's "time to be quiet" or ask us to ignore unseen people. I hope I don't come off as stand offish or anything it's just a question. Feel free to not answer as I understand things like this is personal.
It’s honestly a shame you don’t speak out loud to them, because you’re so intelligent and seem so engaged here that I would’ve loved to hear your explanation/thoughts! 💜
I agree with you! I would love for people to hear what I'm saying. I think I just trained myself overtime to not speak out-loud so people wouldn't notice as much.
Thanks for sharing and being so open about your condition, even though you don't speak out loud, do you ever remember some of these conversation? Maybe try a microphone and try to listen if there are any words coming out, I would be really interesting what it could be. I share my personal beliefs about schizophrenia that it relates to something extraterrestial, I have forms of evidence for it as well. Hypnotic regression could help you remember more.

Ok, but when the crisis passes and you realize you were hallucinating, how do you feel? OR you don't remember? Explain these details, another thing: When you start hallucinating, do you happen to have two sides fighting in your head? For example: Do you hallucinate and realize you are hallucinating and try to stop, or not?
I wasn’t really paying attention and must have just scanned the text in the beginning. When the video cut to the footage, I saw the dog and my brain must have filled in what I didn’t read and I thought it read: “I tried to explain the Israel-Gaza conflict to my dog.”,
I generally believe that unless you're on hallucinogenic o4 have severe brain damage from some type of energy or disease then out and out whose nation that you cannot tell the difference from them in reality are extremely rare or the result of years and years and years of paranoia and other not as severe symptoms of schizophrenia many times did his people's drug use especially meth use that causes this. I like hallucinogenics myself and I like lucid dreaming and astral projection and I've always been able to tell the difference between hallucinations and reality except when I have had an extreme amount of hallucinogenics.
Is it wrong of me that watching this makes me laugh? I was actually frightened by you when i first watched you but now realize you are cool & i wish i knew you in real life im sorry i was judgemental. 😢
Why shouldn't @SchizophrenicNYC show this? Almost all mental illnesses are widely misunderstood, therefore stigmatized against. Schizophrenia having maybe the most mystery surrounding it because as much as you can try to "imagine" or "visualize" what it's like to have hallucinations, unless you know someone experiencing them, it's very hard to understand. Myself included and seeing this has been very helpful for me.
First of all, hallucinations don't "flee". They're better handled with her meds, as they are for others as well. "Jesus" doesn't "cure" mental illness - this is science. And I'll pose another question for for to think about. You don't have to respond, just food for thought. Don't you think instead of "invoking the name of Jesus to send hallucinations investigating", don't you think Jesus would just not have created mental illness in the first place?
