Awesome job on this build. This kit is super fun and is totally different than the standard "federation" build - what with all the weathering. In any event, I'm curious if you ran into any issue airbrushing the craft acrylics? I've picked some up for a future build and have heard of good and bad results (dry tip, thinning, etc). Any issues in particular that you ran into on using them? They are appealing due to the cost difference - I've pretty much only used Vallejo and Tamiya. Great job all around!
Thanks! I've used the craft acrylics quite a few times now. The biggest issue for me is just getting them thinned properly. Too thick and it clumps up to thin it comes out runny. I'd recommend practicing on something first to find that right consistency.
Man, I wish I could find one of these models....the 1/350 scale BOP seems to be out of production right now. The closest one I could find was the 1/650th scale one from "Generations."
Looks great. Big model too.
Thanks! It's a decent size.
Ah yes, the Bird of Prey. I built this kit a few years back. It was fun, and easy to make. I like your paint job!
But...
rust?
On a space ship?
Thanks...well this ship went in and out of atmosphere so it's possible for it to rust.
Amazing work on this. I have one in my stash and I’m so motivated to build it now.
Thanks, it's a fun project!
The varied paint looks great. Another very nice job.
Thank you!
Superb
Thank you!
Looks great! I think you nailed the hull color with that crocodile green.
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
Looks awesome well done.
Thanks brother!
you should list your paint colors for your build, awesome job btw
Thank you, I usually try to mention what paint I'm using as I build.
Did you even bother to watch or listen to the video? He tells you exactly what product he used.
Great job 👍 I wish you would of entered in in the Model Con over the weekend. It would of been nice to see it in person. Thanks Paul
Thanks! It entered it last year.
Hopefully it did well in the. competition
@@paulgertsch7105 it did, it got Best in Show in the fantasy/sci-fi classes.
Looks really good.
Thank you!
What's crazy is how underpowered these were throughout the Star Trek series.
One of my favorite designs though.
@@EagleSciFiModeler Oh yeah! Totally. And you did a great job by the way. I wish they got more recognition throughout the series(s).
