  • September 15, 2023: My 6th and final day at Disney World. Because of Magic Kingdom's after-hours Halloween party, the park again was not crowded (by their standards), opening at 8am this time. I park-hopped to Epcot for a couple hours, then finished my trip at Hollywood Studios, riding their top 6 rides and seeing the Frozen show twice within the last 4 hours. It was a great way to end such a great week at the parks.
This trip was far more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Yes, it's a headache figuring everything out and then having to manage Genies, Lightning Lanes, and virtual queues, as well as dealing with the massive amount of people. But if you know what to expect and plan well, it can be a lot of fun.

I agree with you on the food, ha ha … a “necessary inconvenience.” I do have to have something on my stomach, but amusement park food is generally not worth the wait or the money. When we got all those rides at Kings Island, we mutually agreed to skip dinner in favor of more rides on The Beast.
As for WDW, I did not find their food all that great at the Pop Culture hotel, which is admittedly one of the budget resorts. I did not know where to get the good food at WDW, (I hear there is some). What we got was very average.
I will always have a special place in my heart for WDW because of the childhood memories, like so many others. But I found it uncomfortably crowded when my son and I went in October 2019. I wish they had some way of expanding out the Magic Kingdom.

I'm a picky eater, and many things don't agree with me, then I can't keep riding. We all have to eat sometime, but I always look for something with no line, which you won't find at Disney World. That's why I wore shorts with multiple zipper pockets, plus a fannie pack, to carry all those snacks that agree with me. The money savings was secondary to the real purpose of how I did it. I enjoyed Disney more this time than I did as a kid, but those crowds are ridiculous. October 2019 is when I did Disneyland on a school day, and it was a madhouse.
At Kings Island, I had the CF dining plan, and it helped that their food places also had almost no lines. And they had several options that I can handle. Spaghetti with cheese is perfect for me, even with chili in place of sauce.
