I do see the similarities. I'm sure the Geo Metro owners totally loved their cars, just like the current Mirage owners do, but the so-called experts don't like them.

I have an old soul. Where I live, Nissan Versa does cost more, but all the new-age technology even in their base model is where the Versa lost me. I would be willing to pay more to not have that stuff in my car. Just my personal preference.

@HiTechBoy96 Mine with just a few chips and scratches, minimal fading, and doesn't usually need gas to start. But ac compressor broken, interior falling apart, power windows broken. The engine head cracked twice. My dad knew how to change it. 3rd one was the charm, has lasted almost 15 years, and the car still runs well today.

@OklahomaCoasterFan I'm lovin' every second of havin it. I'm just happy to have one of the last true small cars in America before they become an extinct breed. Lol. The Mirage Forums has some posts that go into detail about the foglights, I believe, if you need any extra info on adding them.

One of the posts on there was where I found good instructions about removing the back seat-backs. It is sad that us small-car enthusiasts are losing out to the monster-car mob, but I'm glad I got a new Mirage in time.

I wish I could have visited Cincinnati's old Coney Island. My 2021 rides on Kings Dominion's Grizzly were worse than Shivering Timbers. However, my 2023 rides on Grizzly were outstanding. 3/4 of it is riding as smooth as Mystic Timbers. The last 1/4 wasn't redone, so it's bouncy, but not bad, because it's going slower. It's very similar to how Wolverine Wildcat rides now, but even better with Grizzly. If you get back there, give it another shot. I'm hoping Shivering Timbers gets the same trackwork that Grizzly or Wolverine Wildcat got.

@@OklahomaCoasterFan it's sad what happened to Coney. It was just a bad location, and the only thing that kept it open was the pool and the nolstagia. I wish I would've thought to work there in high school. It's only about 15 minutes from where I live. The owners couldn't keep up with it anymore, and the company that bought it was only interested in expanding/ replacing the music venue on that sight. Granted, that is the area's most premiere concert stage outside of the downtown arena, but still. The pool would've turned 100 years old this year, and it only got ripped out a couple months ago. I do plan on revisiting KD sometime soon, so will definitely be giving Grizzly another ride. The back row was horrible...I lost my fitbit on it.

My thoughts exactly! It sounds like we feel the same way about cars. I haven't needed to do maintenance yet, but it's great to see how straight-forward everything is. It's great to hear that you trust the Mirage for your driving school.

Thank you! I don't think much of Doug DeMuro's approach. He just doesn't understand that different people have different opinions, and that's okay. Not everyone is like me, but for people who think like me and have similar preferences & needs, the Mitsubishi Mirage is an awesome car. Over 3,000 miles in now, and I love it even more.

@@williereyeschannel2075 Rumor is that the Mirage will be going away in the next year or 2. We don't yet know what it will be replaced with if it does leave. They could decide to jump on board with the monster cars with tons of complicated technology.

Thank you! Simple, basic older tech is right up my alley. I have been loving the car so far, over 3000 miles in. I have heard that these CVTs do better with the Mirage, maybe because of the smaller engine & lower horsepower. I am loving the feel of the CVT, and that was one thing I wasn't sure if I would like. It's nice to hear that yours were great for you as well.

Wow, that speedy parking has become quite the mess. I had a feeling it wouldn't last long. I didn't know that this was happening at Frontier City, but I'm not surprised, given how it was at Over Texas. For you, I would suggest just changing the license plate associated with your speedy parking (even to something fictional) to help solve the issue they are having there. That way, the system will not have scanned you in before the attendant scans your pass. Six Flags over Texas & Fiesta Texas weren't having the problem you described. They have their speedy parking scanners disabled.

I only did Monster Mansion once, but from what I remember, it is definitely better, but Pirates of Speelunker Cave is in that league. Have a great time in Florida!

Exactly, and that's all I'm looking for from a car. I never cared about status points. It's great to hear another positive testimony. If I preferred a sedan, I certainly would have bought the G4/Attrage.

That feature is available on a higher trim level. Depending on what car it is, some will just beep at you, others will try to pull you back into the lane, which is very dangerous. It's good that the Mirage only beeps. I'm still happy to not have that, as I personally find it very distracting.

I have enjoyed both parks very much. 5 Cedar Point visits: 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021, & 2023. 6 Kings Island visits: 2018, 2 in 2019, 2020, 2021, & 2023. Cedar Point has the best coaster collection anywhere, but that does draw huge lines every single day. But Kings Island has had short lines on weekdays, and the coaster collection is still great, plus they have better entertainment, so Kings Island is by far in a way my favorite of the 2.

That's great to hear, and that's what I was hoping would be the case. I'm supposed to change the fluid on my non-cvt Fit every 30k too, so that's not new.

I'm happy you enjoyed my home park. They have been taking great pride in it, and have done a lot to improve things over the last couple years. It is a well themed park and very underrated.

Less is more! It is sad that there aren't more subcompact options in this country. I hope you love your Mirage as much as I love mine. It is very interesting to hear testimony about the Geo Metro. I am intrigued by it, having not known much about it before, but then I heard about the comparisons to the Mirage.

It wasn't a consideration for me. Even though I'm mostly old-school, I actually dislike manuals. But if I were going to go with a used car, which you have to if you want a manual, I would have gone with a Honda Fit with low miles. Since I don't like manuals, that left me stuck with 10+ yr old Fits to avoid CVT. But a manual would open up newer options, and Fits were made to last forever. The Mirage is still a great option though. I've heard that this or next year will probably be the last for the Mirage, but I don't know if they 100% confirmed it yet. Maybe we can change their minds if sales pick up.

They axpanded their culinary options across the entire park the most I've seen at this park in the past 5 years. They actually added park specific merchandise. They have a nice Diamond Back shirt.

I'm surprised that I've never gotten stuck at the far end of Diamondback, with how many times I've ridden it. This was the day when I overheard the people saying that there are Frontier Citys all over the country.

I never got to experience that one. There were land conflicts with both Astroworld in Houston & Bell's in Tulsa around that same time. At least this one was able to find a new home and reopen.

Yes, I removed the seat-backs, but I left the seat. With a few little adjustments, I have it quite flat back there, and I like that it is still a softer surface by leaving the seat. I will always carry a spare tire in any car I drive, even if I stay in town, but it would give a tiny improvement in gas mileage if you removed it. So there is more that can be done that I didn't do, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little in mileage for the car to fit my style and needs better. Here's my video where I walked through the process of turning the Mirage into a mini-camper: ua-cam.com/video/uE8PKTtvXb8/v-deo.html I just got back from a longer trip today, and the car did quite well. It's more powerful than the Honda Fit, and even at 65-70mph with AC going, I calculated about 45mpg. It did even better for the leg where I was on a minor highway with no traffic, going 55-60mph, with the car estimating me at 56mpg. Although, the car has been estimating about 2-3 over what I'm actually getting.

I'm guessing they have some special shoes that don't slide on the ice. I wish I thought to ask them afterwards. I miss that show!

@@christoperfleming6832 The grandfather, kid, and pairs skaters were at the side after every show to talk to guests and do pictures. I did meet them and take a picture with them.

You may have been working there on one of my visits. It will always be a special place to me. My brother even worked there briefly as a ride op. The waterpark across the way is still my home park today.

@@Porcf81 My brother was there a few years before that. He operated many rides, including the spider. But I visited the park many times with friends or my dad's company picnic during 1999-2001. That was the timeframe that I got over my fear of coasters with Zingo.

I'm not sure which pool you're asking about, but I haven't been there in 3 years and can't remember. The activity pool has a deep end for some of the attractions. The wave pool may have the deep end roped off, like most waterparks have done.

My car was alright. It just was very surprising. SFOT did better with operations 2 weekends ago, but more weather issues recently set them back again. It's been by far the worst year ever for weather in the area. I only had one day at Discovery Kingdom, and they did well outside of Medusa being closed until the last couple hours.

That's awesome! I can't wait to get back there and ride Triple Loop in July. It doesn't quite make up for missing out on Texas Tornado SBNO on me 2002, but it's the next best thing. This park has such a great story!

That new Universal park will be a kids park, but it will still be interesting to see what it's like. I've had a fear of heights too, and I still do if I'm not locked into ride restraints. It took awhile before I lost that fear while on rides, but I kind of miss having those butterflies. Of course, with my car, I can only make guesses as to why someone would mess with someone else's car that they don't even know. I didn't park over any lines, and I wasn't aware of anything I did while driving or walking in that was inconsiderate. I can only speculate that it was someone not liking seeing a cheap, small car in the "rich people" lot. At least it wasn't any permanent damage. I did buy my Mirage a week before this trip, but I drove the Honda Fit this time. I wasn't ready to take the brand new car out of town yet.

It's so great to hear from another like-minded individual. And those are great notes to supplement my video about the key and the maintenance/warranty details, which I only glossed over. I wasn't sure what others provided. I wasn't considering the Elantra, due to well-known issues, as well as no more hatchbacks. I did not know that new cars were going for that much over msrp so recently. Mine was still over msrp in total, after adding on the $1000+ destination, documentation, and the extra supplies. I talked them down some, but I feel I could've gotten them down to 18k total or even less if I played hardball. They could tell that this is what I wanted, and paying for it outright takes away some bargaining power. They now prefer us to take out loans, but I wasn't doing it. With my phone, I don't have unlimited data, so I don't usually turn it on unless I need it. Most people have unlimited, so I know I'm in a small minority there. I use my old-school GPS device when needed, which isn't often. It would be great to meet you sometime. If you have a Six Flags pass, you could join me for some laps on Freeze and Giant. My summers are usually booked, but I'm sure I'll make it back there in the fall.

Fall sounds good, just lemme know whenever you plan on visiting Ahh the limited data is why you don't use CarPlay/android auto. Makes sense now. Well whatever works for you. You're spot on that the dealerships prefer financing. I also plan on paying cash when I buy a vehicle so I was disappointed to find that out. Also, the destination fee is mandatory so don't feel bad that you paid $1000 for that. It's a pricing trick that the car manufacturer (not dealership) plays to make their cars look cheaper. Oh the 2024 Mirage is only 17k but you need to pay this mandatory destination charge. It's very sneaky of the car makers and they all do it

This park has an incredible top 5, not even counting the drop tower. So many great rides to choose from!

It is pretty much the perfect invert. It's still by far my favorite.
