There’s more suspense in this Hotline than any thriller released by Hollywood in the last 10 years. I was white knuckling it almost the entire time. This dude has massive huevos.
He has to follow a person who is in front blocking his vision & trust him to do the right thing & trust him to leave enough room for him to squeeze threw as well the camera guy has to be perfect focusing on his camera angle & whats around him & not crash
FWIW 48x18 Average cadence = 90 -110 rpm Average speed = 18-23 mph @6:24 some nice footwork. @14:34 we almost had an Erik Otto "Flatline." Damn @14:55 that poor mirror! Excellent work, gentlemen.
no wonder car drivers in NYC hate bikers, jerks like this doing stupid shit swerving all over the place trying to be cool. even pedestrians are like WTF at every red light, everyone has to stop just so this hipster can shoot a film. I mean i love the views and all but this kid has no respect for anybody.
I saw the original version of this years ago and it was the first video I’d seen of Terry’s and I was hooked!!!! Not just by the riding but also the filming and also NYC. I love the fact that Eric didn’t know or really care about his chain ring and sprocket sizes, his bike was a beautiful Frankenstein of old borrowed parts. Keep up the great work Terry 👍🏼
Oh man what is it to be young. I had a blast doing this when i was younger but London in the 90s. Unrelated heath issue left me with centre vision loss and crazy fatigue these last 2 years. I still hope to saddle up again but will never see the likes of this again. Even these dudes will get old, enjoy life as you never know when its removed from you!!
If I did this, at some point I get doored, Or end up Supermaning over someone's Hood, or end up Spaghettified between two buses or end up Ten pin bowling into a crowd of pedestrians at a traffic stop.
If I did this, at some point some pedestrians, or some guy on a motorcycle or a car would chase me and force me to pull over and shove me off my bike and beat the shit out of me. And I live in a city where most people don't even abide traffic laws lol
@@iskindersam4899 Are you going to say that to everyone else in the comments then? I just know how easily things can go wrong and get taken by surprise. Never said I was the best cyclist or anything.
Alfonsox 666 Sorry to hear that :( I’m mostly recovered from mine now but it still hurts to stand on my right foot on a hard floor for more than ~10 minutes. I can bike again though :)
@@herenkapsalon It didn't, untill there's a vaccine. Slow economy opening is a must, while not 'destroying' health sector ( it was done without covid, quite successfully by neocapitalists all over the place, already). A compromise, on the expense of the most invulnerable and exposed.
i have a question. i modified an old peugeot j8 from 1977. it now has a 48:19 , but it's freewheel. i like coasting very very much, and i'm just not ready for fixie right now. so my question is: is it ok if i only have a front brake and use the foot as a rear brake ? i hate the looks of the rear brake. can anybody comment on this please ? 10x a lot. greetings from romania
Yeah front break is smart to run on a fixie, especially when starting off. It is good to have a backup to stop quickly in the event of an emergency. You can forgo the back break and skid.
Basically no maintenance and I think it’s actually quicker to brake when you’re super competent like these guys. Virtually impossible to break if you don’t.

I have always said the guy doing the chasing is the better biker.
it's the opposite
i mean the chasing biker gets a slipstream so the leader has to do all the hard work
Lol... depends
@@Detrek the chasing isn't close enough to benefit of slipstream and he just have to follow the guy ahead who's finding lines through the traffic

Bold to do this generally but bolder to do it in a country where getting treated at a hospital basically bankrupts you
That is my thought exactly. They all wear a helmet so injuries should all be external but still super expensive , especially the tetanus shot

def pussy gearing lol
rides like a savage, doe!
some real dicey plays in here
And not so much in a cool way, more like a "not riding within your limits" kind of way.

I have 100% seen this before
Borrowed time, but an amazing display of skill and cinematography non the less.
pre-lockdown footage feels so chaotic now
because it is haha ^^
We’ll be back to that.
JOEYWHO hopefully sooner than later

It still is chaotic just added masks

It honestly was a chill ride tbh
That kinda skill takes so long to master, that is poetry in motion right there
The djembe+raw audio overlay soundscape at the end was immersive. Lovin' your aesthetic more and more brother - in your debt once again.

Just thrilling! What an amazing way to see Manhattan! Who needs an open-top tourist bus?!
This is Nucking Futz! I Love it! ❤️
what a playful rider! tender and elegant, one thinks he comes with his fists at something only to realize he threw flowers while passing
Please
Love the creativity and the fun of this one.
Love your content Terry, you inspired me to start my own youtube channel.
Thank you for motivation.
Amazed there were no crashes here. Coming from a guy who got hospitalised last year riding waaaaay more careful than this

So because you had a crash your surprised he didn't. Well someone's got a bit of an ego.

watching this in hi res in full screen mode is mesmerizing
that bike looks so cool. he just looks so clean with it
Crazy biking, great flow. But, car doors are a the nemesis of hubris.
This is awesome. It almost looks like a video game!
This dude is dangerous.....
I have to pause the video to mention this, those bullhorns are turnt up! I like to tilt mine down a bit more, but I feel ya!
Your stabilization is so amazing!
I know I’m late to this video, but the amount of time he does the outright had me rolling on the floor😂😂
Wow what skill!! this is extremely entertaining and under rated.
Complete badassery.
Funky drumming. Nice!
14:03 is that the notorious foot hang?
Foot hang gang for life
1Kellapitter just 4 flare after the emergency brake
This is like GTA on bikes, even down to catching pieces of people talking as you fly by them
Ahhh mannn I miss being able to bike like this in the city. Covid 19 took out all the obstacles, now it’s all empty
I have been binge watching these videos
Beautifully shot.
I envy NY smooth and flat roads
Also, if you zigzag too much here in São Paulo a motorcycle just hit you full power.
Impressive too that's a gradual uphill climb
imagine going through this much anxiety just to get to work
Then I'll tell you to go change your work
imagine being stuck in a car there
Dude you all are crazy!
my mans does it like it's easy. i mean most of the hotline folks do, but still
Good style and skillzz!
Awesome ride ... thanks for sharing
🚴🏽🚴🏽🚴🏽🔥🔥🔥
That's some yummy stuff. Thanks Terry.
Was riding this exact line this morning about... Erik said "People they're everywhere". Doesn't really apply to today's ride...
Love your videos, you've inspired me to make a channel of my own. Much love from Toronto! ;)
I have a whole new apperation for this hotline. What a dope rip
watching hotlines now make me more anxious than ever just due to the sheer amount of people and cars around. feels so strange!
This was a great video from beginning to end
My favorite vid so far.
What a groove
I rented a bike when I went to New York two years ago and had a blast riding around the city. Not like this though haha
Crowded streets makes me feel nostalgic.
Yes, man. Greets from germany. Stay clean.
¡A Erik se le subió el santo!! Man of many talents👍🏼
In all honesty I watch this videos and remembers me to always stop at the light
Great vid. Very intense lol, great seeing all the places I used to live. I really miss NYC.
Dope run
Me dejas el corazón en la boca 😮
Would be "awesome" to see somebody ride through empty streets of NYC with same speed, cadence and style.
During Covid surely there were some wild rides, let's hope to see some videos !
What kind of bikes are you guys using
Beautiful flow!
The sneaker skid!!! lol

What's your average speed on the 48 x 18 ratio? I bought a single speed bike with stock 42 x 17 and would like to go up to 52 x 17.
