That’s the fastest tour of London I’ve ever been on.
What an absolute chaos!
"I'm not gonna go too hard on Terry" ..so that was a lie
Loved the high 5' at 13:57. London cyclists look out for each other!
It's all love!
It's a courier thing :)
cycling in london is rough
I commute, it must be different during the day!
Didn't see that comming. How cool is that :D
the difference in bike culture is so clear here. all the NYC vids are flowing from start to finish, running red lights, changing lanes and directions to flow with the traffic. cycling in the UK for about 4 seconds and you get trapped behind a coach!!! haha
this is nothing compared to taiwan its bike island
NYC riders probably think they're best/the fastest but yeah, being fast is easy when the streets are 3 lanes each side and everything flows. Nothing flows here. Drivers freak out at the first sight of a cyclist. You can't always run a light, the margin for error is so small with the small streets, everything is unpredictable. And this is in London, you should see other cities
did you see Matt stop for a single red light? These are not not repetitive, boring junctions... way more technical. Ride into a crossroads with no brakes and force oncoming traffic to skid to a halt to avoid you? Such "skill" Haha....
Incredible handling, particularly given this weather. I'd have slipped 10 times with such cornering
Normal weather for us lol
Terry: I'm dead. Matt: My legs feel great mate.
I'm on a binge of your videos are they're both terrifying and relaxing at the same time!
Appreciate it Rupert.
@@TerryB This captured with go pro 8?
Dude is a crazy rider.. this is one of my favorite RoughCuts fo sho!
🚴💨💨💨💨💨💨
camera couldn't quite handle our gloomy london weather at times haha
Noone can, noone... XD
I have to max out my screen brightness to enjoy it
thats bc he keeps it at 400 iso so the sensor wont pick up as much with low light... just to keep the noise/grain on the final product
I personally love it
Kinda vibe
@@3-y86 lol worked friday, got soaked and dried out 3 times and got a flat
I love the bit at the start in Southwark - shows a bit of real London!
What bike does he have?
I would love a short bike check before the rides like youve done with Ana in mexico city for example!
Everyone gets a little hard seeing others babies
VMN It’s an 8bar KRZBERG V6
pls don't get hard looking at babies
@@wachowski9525 lmaooo
@@mathewwatson3331 I´m waiting on my new V7 to arrive ;)
misantrope let me know what it’s like!! I think 8bar are mad with me because I didn’t give them a bike review so no V7 for me 😉😂😂
With Safa in Mexico, one of my favorite rides of your's Terry. London is a crazy busy town. The small streets increase the feeling of speed, but Matts is going damn fast too. Love that one.
8:58 that street closing by the orange guys was straight pulled out of some movie! Nice 😀
They got there just in time
I like the color grading a lot for some reason, best go pro footage I've seen
You couldn't have had a better tour guide... Matt Rucola represtenting London couriers, with a lovely scenic tour. :) Yes bruv!
Terry’s freewheel is the only relieving sound in this whole vid
The first 5 mins in the back lanes is VERY SATISFYING
That’s real London!
More difficult than NY here in the UK. Peds can legally jaywalk and do often from behind parked cars like in 23:03. Many car drivers don't like cyclists - seem to blame them for congestion which is odd.
The police will 100% pull you over if you do absolutely anything wrong too... Happened to me many a time.
that shitty channel 5 “””documentary””” (you know the one) featured some cunt in a Range Rover complaining about not being able to pass cyclists stupidly close whenever they slightly inconvenience him and then blurting out the absolutely glorious line “there’s a limit to the number of cyclists that can fit on the roads!”
Never gets old, honestly
"Blame cyclists for congestion". Makes total sense. Ha!
@@jonathansnell876 did you ever get fined? I've been running reds often but only 1 time I was pulled over in central when I sped past the driver side window of a police car waiting at a red (it was 100% safe the pedestrians had a green light and there were no pedestrians lmao). they only told me off though but scared the fuck out of me with the beep, he must have punched the horn.
@@jonathansnell876 funny that, how the police will pull you over if you break the law
The best virtual tour of London! Thanks Terry!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Bloody epic👌 Thanks for the tour. Love the high 5
My enjoyment of this is a weird feeling. Love it the English series!
I've cycled these streets for 6 years and live in central London, but have to admit technology gives you a better (wider) view than IRL. Damn. Especially on the bridges!!!
Nice cycle trip around London! I love it! Thank you for sharing.
The Orwellian Dystopia in Twilight. Cheers Terry. Matt Spreading Light and Hope in The Gloom. Marvelous!
Terry, please assemble an International All-Star Team and unleash them in the canyons of NYC. They’ll HAVE all that Space - Rain OR Shine.
Great vid! Riding London is so different from NYC. Obviously with no grid system you really need to get the experience to be able to navigate well. The small winding streets in the east of the city make for very interesting riding
I love thw London traffic esthetic. The very visible fluorescent clothing/jackets and attention for displaying a visible safe environment.
Ooooh God ... I think I sweated like you in those narrow streets and full of people I got tense 😂😂😂... I always enjoy your videos but in London I enjoy them double 👍👍👍
Терри, спасибо! Очень красивый город, отличная поездка!
Yes mate 🍻🍻🍻
Matt Rucola is the most skilful bike messenger I’ve known out of the others and very good knowledge of london without googling.
Saying that also he is also fast 🚴♂️🤘
Woow, the color grade is amazing! Looks like a movie
gimme 2 of mello... proceeds to enter heavily crowded area... This might be one of my favorite rides and favorite videos on youtube. Killin it
the black cat in 2:20 !!!
I would've called it a day Right there 😂
I gotta say I love these vids. Being way older I can see the excitement of track bikes but I started on a regular bike bc I need a break from peddling time to time and I lost 65 pounds. Then I got an electric bike to take some of the suck out of biking and I thought I was hooked. I planned on buying a van, loading it up w a bike and just going everywhere to explore. I hate to report that the coppers killed that dream. I was issued 2 $500.00 tickets by those muppets. My bike is peddle assisted. Meaning if u don’t peddling, it doesn’t help. No throttle at all. I never had to pay those tickets and I knew I didn’t have to. I just hate dealing w idiots of which the United States police force is among the dumbest group of individuals I have ever met. I got the van! I also have 2 one wheels and 2 gotway electric unicycles. I love them. I could never keep up w u guys on a track bike but I could on my gotway. Enjoy your lives guys!
E bikes cheating
@@BigPcov no, you are stupid
Hypnoticly awesome. Love it..
Dammit Terry!!!!!! You dropped another one!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
London is so dark and gloomy it makes the whole video super cinematic
yeah right? what a boring and lifeless place this is
Screen brightness turned all the way up for this one. Thanks London!
those moody tones
It´s nice seeing a RoughCut in a town I recognize. I´m a swede but I´ve been to London five times or so.
sweet
13:56 I miss high fives on the road!
Wow. Amazing handling. Bikes ridden like they've been stolen, love it!
Blimey !!!! Cracking good ride 😜👍
must get the sweatiest gooch ever riding in jeans

my guy MATT! BlueJeansCasual™
Terry you should come to Tokyo!
I’d love to come back!
broo the weather looks really niceeee
Way to flow! I love riding London
"The sun has come out..." Proceeds to ride on the wet streets of London...
Perhaps in England they don't know what the sun is and call it rain.
@@SketchTurnerZero we know what the sun is, its a mytical creature that appears for a day every year. Well call that day summer time.
What a nice city! And I live /ride in a great city. Love from the RVA.
🌶 🌶🌶🌶🌶 !!!! Especially because all the cuts are reversed, the cars come from the right then left haha. Nice job, terry.
Used to work by Southwark Bridge and good to go back to familiar streets
Those left turns are so trippy to see as an american
Poor terry! Welcome to London! 😆👋
You guys took a decent route, so you plan them in advance?
This is strangely inspiring I just don't have the confidence to ride like that because too many careless drivers and people just stepping out inbetween parked vehicles
Terry, I would love the chance to show you around London on my Brompton ;) (Those folding bikes you see everywhere in London).
33:10 Terry Bonktsen
Dope dude
Street ninja for sure here!!!!
The way he picks his line throws me off at every turn.
what does that mean? i don't do cycling like this and don't get it, but want to know.
@@2ears1mouth786I think he means his choice of route is an unlikely one
@@2ears1mouth786 voing round corners if you pick a line youcan gain or loose a lot , if driving you can leave turning into a bend very late, or wide, until you think you missed it then turn , youd be surprised how you fly round the corner much easier , it feels odd but you actually straighten the bend out , try it , incrementally
Yes mate!
You're riding through so much history. A lot of these roads were built by the Romans. Then later in the victorian times. That's why they are so narrow. Made for horse and cart.
dude is BOOKING it
Try Montreal Quebec, there is an extreme number of potholes. Feels like mountain biking on the streets. Thumbs up if you're Canadian.
Send ittt!!!
Sometimes they do commute comparisons on tv, like train vs car vs bike. They should really invite you guys lol.
Kings of the city!
Terry sounds suuupperrr giddy
Alleycat at 2:19 Classic :D
Terry check your audio peaks.
Great video!
waacht outt the caaaattt!!!
Really surprised how quiet the streets are for this. When i was there during rush hour,
i'd never been so overcome by crowds of aggressive rule-abiding
cyclists! (like waiting at london bridge, HAH) also: WAY more vehicle traffic!! Was this a Sunday or something? Smooth sailing, i'd expect nothing less from Sir Matt
Cooper Ray we shot it around 12 noon on a Friday - we were certainly lucky with the amount of traffic!
I was thinking the same thing, I'm like damn, it's never this quiet for me.
@@mathewwatson3331 You ride like a fucking wanker. Breaking every rule while crying at other road users who are obeying the rules.
@@phillycheesetake it's about promoting the flow of traffic while not blocking the flow of traffic
@@balkanhooper by 'it' I mean this culture and style of riding. If you've never experienced this, you just won't be able to understand. It's all in the perspective mate
Awesome bruv lol
I wish he was mic'd up for this. He just keeps accelerating
2:22 closest call in a terry video
He is tough man!
"what are you doing, it's red!"
You need the right music and this would be awesomer!
🚲 ♥
noooooooo that's the whole point!!
@@A7xxxxxxx there's a version with music, though 😜
First time I've seen Terry get dropped 23:03 😛
Second for me, he got dropped in Saint Petersburg video as well, couldn't squeeze in between two buses
cycle past me around 29 at my old workplace
Thanks for the 21:9 !
no worries more where that came from
@@TerryB heh, it was really immersive experience on my 34 inch curved panel ;) dat mood of narrow London streets..mmm..just awesome, please do more like that!)
08:38 that 390 duke tho
Beautifully
Cool Man ...😁👍
yo @terrydo u have hotline stickers for sale?
How is this filmed? The camera can’t be on your head as it’s stable. Is it connected to your body in some way and goes above your head?
What speed ?
Yo that footage is stunning, what’s that filmed on? Surly not brave enough to ride about with a dslr on your head but looks like the quality of one.
i believe it’s a goPro. they’ve come a long way. all you need is to color grade and it automatically makes it looks like something out of a movie.
London is so dark!
Maaan..hope you can add a feature like a minimap or sumtin..
Fab.
13:58 perfect greet on the go
is there an average speed on this
I ride a fair bit but not as much as someone who makes a living but twice my front brake has stopped me from crushing a small child who jumped out in to the road without warning. Wouldnt you be faster overall knowing you can stop faster anyway?
A front break will kill you and the child before a fixed skid ever would. Cables fail locked cogs don't
@@josequilez5449 wrong go back to school. on one occasion i stood it on its front wheel with the toddler cm away from it. A rear wheel skid on the other hand no way jose. Its not just me that disagrees with you its physics. The look in the Dads eyes said it all.Never had a cable failed when needed on me and luckily for the child and family it didnt that time either. Choice is yours naturaly. If the biker were mechanicaly inept or otherwise unable to maintain their brake system then your point would have some validity.
The point is, on brakeless you're not supposed to stop, you avoid. It's all about control. That's what it trains you to do. If you hit the brake, you would hit the child 100%. On fixed you'd avoid it completely
@@joshnicholson2934 I did hit the brake but didnt hit the child 100%
@@TheJs12347777 so if you had enough time to react and pull the brake and actually stop, then us on brakeless only need half that time to avoid the child completely. But you wouldn't understand
Do you have any videos in Denver or Boulder?
skid heaven
what sort of a camera is this
the shots looks epic
respect. these streeets don't seem very welcoming for cyclists
They're not
London isn't welcoming for anyone 😂 pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, it's fucking hell on earth!
@@Miche27 Sounds like NYC
Yeah, they aren't welcoming for cyclists that break every road law imaginable.
Not easy to ride in the wet road condition. I love how he knew exactly where he was going all the time, so many streets and turns. Really impressed. Is he a cabby in his day job!
With comments like that you don't understand the distain between couriers and black cab driver's, clearly.
@@szsz3811 still, as a london cyclist (and ex racer) i'd rather share the road with a black cab than another vehicle. they know how to drive..
@@NightLetterLondon Good luck with that my good man. Obviously your entitled to your opinion.
Terry why wasn't he mic'd up?
