This video hit so many relatable points about struggling with discipline and feeling stuck in cycles of procrastination. The way you framed the idea of a "strong motivational why" really stood out-it's such a simple concept, but so powerful. Without a clear, emotionally compelling reason, it's easy to fall into that "why bother" mindset where nothing feels urgent or meaningful. I love the example of the burning building and how much more willing we are to act when the stakes feel personal. What resonated most was how you tied discipline to avoiding regret. Thinking about how my future self might feel if I don't act now really shifted my perspective. That part about being unable to face the woman you want to marry because you know you're not living up to your potential-it hit hard. It’s not just about external rewards, but how you see yourself and what you’re building for the people you care about. The reminder that discipline isn’t about perfection, but about staying connected to your "why," even when things get hard, was something I needed to hear. It’s easy to get complacent when things are going well or to beat yourself up when you slip. Your journey showed how crucial it is to revisit your motivators and use them to push through resistance instead of giving in. Thanks for sharing such a raw, honest take on the struggles and rewards of staying disciplined.

You got to love to learn the journey, it gets hard for everyone. There are good days and bad days, but you gotta keep grinding, learning new things, Improving yourself every day. Also believe Faith has a strong roll to someone’s life.
Your story is Very relatable. I improved myself a lot from 18 to 23 years old, job promotions, women, social life, mental health etc... then i slowly lost all my motivation to keep grinding, and still strugling to recover It at 25
@MarkdosSantos I think the main thing is that I've been neglecting my social relationships too much I had the exact same thing that happened to you in my life, but instead of music, I quit my job to develop my own software company. Just like what happened to you, I started doing some unfocused and unclear work day in and day out, and stopped doing the things that really would make me progress (networking, etc...). In a mix of hyperfixation and my ego telling me that "I dont need nobody" I ended up isolating myself a lot in the process, and now I realise thats the main thing holding me down. Luckily i was able to get a couple of clients from relationships that i developed in the past so at least i can pay the bills. I'm going on a trip on this year end, and my plan is when i come back to use that momentum to go back on being more social and outgoing. Anyways, thanks for asking and for sharing your experience
@@Andre000Lucas Very interesting. Thank you for being so open, you have no idea how admirable it is and how much it is respected. I had once made a video about it called “Don’t be a house rat”. Definitely something worth watching. Self-isolation can be good for specific periods in life, but not to a point where it degrades our enjoyment of life. We are at the end of the day social creatures. You seem like a guy who can easily get into deep conversations and has a lot to say. Basically having no issues with being social. A question though, why would you wait until your holiday? Why not start today with being social and setting yourself up to build momentum right away?
@MarkdosSantos just checked out the “Don’t be a house rat” video, and let me say DAMN, this about to be the longest coment I ever wrote lol Everything hits home my brother. A couple of years ago, after finishing school i decided to work with sales because i felt shy and introverted. Just like you i recieved a great oportunity and mentoring that made me grow like crazy, to the point of doing public presentations, and even got promoted to manager after a couple of years. Like you said, i think back on it and say that those were the days lol. I was so confident, the sales job did wonders for my life, specialy from a social standpoint, i became very extroverted back then. You described it perfectly when you said you felt "high on life". Well, long story short, i became a dev, then i quit my dev job and became the house rat trying to build my business. I been on and off the house rat rut the past months, to the point that i needed something diferent and more "disruptive" to hold on to believe this time i could be out for good. On this trip that i'm just back from, i was able to reflect on so much stuff that this coment would be too long. One of the things i realised is that i was living on some BAD stress and anxiety, that i hope i can prevent creeping back in. I have a couple of theories about it, but again, would be too long of a text lol This is crazy to me, i wonder how common this experiences are since theres so much in common, and i tought the path i took was so specific and unrelatable. I would like to check out your music content, if you have a side channel, soundcloud or something. I'm a begginer DJ with a passion for music as well, but just as a hobbie in my case.
@MarkdosSantos i've checked out the "Don’t be a house rat", and let me say DAMN I was an introverted teenager so i went for a sales job to try and improve that, and like what happened to you with your retail job i was blessed with a great oportunity and mentoring that made me grow like crazy during that time, to the point of making public presentations, and even beeing promoted to manager after a couple of years. Like you said, I look back on it and say that those were the days lol. I felt so confident and basicaly became an extrovert. Well, long story short i made an career shit and became a dev, then i quit my dev job and became the house rat while trying to build my business. Is crazy to me how similar our journeys were, and i wonder how common this experiences are, since they are so unique in my social circle. Ansering your question: i've been in and out the house rat rut for so long that i needed something to "hold on to". On this trip that i took i was able to reflect on so much stuff that this comment would be too long, but the main thing that i realised is how much stress and anxiety i live with on my usual routine, something that i need to manage better. I have one question for you tho, do you still make music? What are your thoughts on balancing "real life" stuff with working on your dream/vision?
Amazing video!! I was long trapped in motivating myself with flashy things. Of course they are cool and we all want that but what really matters is to be able to take care of my future wife/kids and live in freedom, where no one can tell me what to do
@@jomo0045 Yes sir! Focus on what truly matters in life! Not on the things that come and go and are replaced easily. The freedom of your children, your wife and you weigh more than the materialistic aspect of this life.
Thanks for making this video, needed to hear that. I lost a bit track of my goals and motivation because the desired outcome is available way too far in the future, but I need to go this way to get there. I guess I'm walking my way for so long that I've forgotten why I'm walking it at all. And thanks for reminding me, that my why matters the most - what ignited the spark, the wish, to want to reach this goal by walking that path
@@JuleSan_jk Thank you for taking the time out of your day for watching the video and leaving such a lovely comment behind. There’s a huge learning curve to everything. And usually the destination is so far ahead that it becomes almost impossible to reach. Which makes us lose the drive, the motivation and vague for us. That’s why it’s important to set small milestones that are aimed at getting us closer towards that goal. Think of a weekly task list focused on the fundamentals of getting you closer to your goals. Then set out the things you can do and complete them. And then reflect at the end of the week if you’ve been able to complete them and why you didn’t succeed. Then focus on overcoming the things that held you back from being able to get your tasks completed. And with every little challenge you overcome in relation to that you grow. Even simply having the intention and doing your best to overcoming it, “failing” and then going again is progress. It’s all in the little things that you do. It’s the person you become whilst you’re on your way of achieving your goals. And that’s the hardest. Ps. I have a video coming out the 18th of December explaining exactly what I did to be consistent in producing work.
Dear @MarkdosSantos thank you very much for your handy list of steps towards a goal - and the kind reminder, that even failing is progressing. That sounds way less demotivational :') I'll try your steps and looking forward to your upcoming video then - Have a great week!

I’m like 3 minutes into the video and I just feel a heaviness over you and it sounds like if you need meaning in Life I found meaning in Jesus he is the way literally. I’m just a person who sounded like the female version of you and I took that woman off like taking off a heavy boot covered in ice and snow and I did it with Jesus and I stop experiencing season of lack of motivation , lack of self control, just emptiness. As a fellow human I can only recommend it’s up to you to consider, i tell you you won’t regret it
@@0marwy0 Great for pointing that out! A source of motivation is needed for you to take action and to become disciplined. When you’re disciplined (acting when you don’t feel like doing it) and see the results, it will motivate you to remain on that path. They compliment each other.
I dont meant to sound ignorant. Maybe I'm missing the whole point. But I don't see how this way of practicing or implementing discipline is exactly fun? I understand that finding your why is the key. It's what helps build the foundation for action. But I'm missing how this is a "fun" way to build discipline.
@@Sandy-qm8lv I’m grateful that you’ve mentioned this honest perspective of yours. You don’t sound arrogant at all. I would’ve done the same thing. Discipline is in general seen as something that is uncomfortable to do. And it is uncomfortable. It’s not easy. Not in any kind of way. So we have to find reasons to make it easier. And one of them is to visualise what the outcomes will be of not being disciplined. What you then see is way more painful than being disciplined and doing the tasks that are necessary. Which in my own perspective makes being disciplined fun. It’d rather choose being disciplined and suffer through all the challenges, then one day know that all the opportunities I had were wasted because I rather choose to watch Netflix every night. Living a comfortable life. To at least give it my all, trying to create a better life than live the guaranteed life that is promised if you follow the standardised structure. So knowing that my actions which are fuelled by a strong motivational which anchor me to take risks, will possibly turn my life better. That could lead to many outcomes, and I love that. What do you think?
@@Ripred0219 Wonderful question. You ask yourself the question “Why do I want something” simply to set your intention. Something that can ground you for when you do take action and then face hardships. Because it’s not going to be a beautiful path. It’s going to get ugly. You will undoubtedly be faced with challenges, pain, suffering, Resistance and beliefs that are working against you. And so by having this “Strong Motivator Why” you can then decide to continue, or not continue and understand the consequences linked to them. Because if you give up, you give up on that what motivates you. If you give up when your family motivates you, you’re giving up on your family. You’re giving up on the future of your children. You’re being a disappointment to your future / current wife. You’re giving up on your future self. You’re giving up on being the greatest version of who you can be. Has this been able to bring more clarity on your question? If not feel free to let me know and I’d love to help out.
@@EddieTuckerIV Having a coach is beneficial in every way imaginable. But the key is to know what your driving force is to achieve anything you want. Especially when you don’t feel like doing the work. Remember why you’re doing it, and don’t lose sight of it.

Thank you so much for this beautiful message, wishing me good health and good production. I wish you the same from the bottom of my heart! What courage it took to you to acknowledge this here, right now. Sometimes that happens and it’s deeply painful to realise that you are not there where you desire to be yet in order to have something, or to be with someone. See it as an opportunity to continuously grow, to continue your journey of becoming the greatest version of yourself. It’s usually moments like these, that when we fully accept them and embrace who we are right now, and that we can do better and eventually take the steps to do, that we’ll reach the next chapters in life. Can you express gratitude for this exact situation? Gratitude for being able to see the truth?

You seem like a guy who can easily get into deep conversations and has a lot to say. Basically having no issues with being social.
A question though, why would you wait until your holiday? Why not start today with being social and setting yourself up to build momentum right away?
@MarkdosSantos just checked out the “Don’t be a house rat” video, and let me say DAMN, this about to be the longest coment I ever wrote lol
Everything hits home my brother.
I have a couple of theories about it, but again, would be too long of a text lol
This is crazy to me, i wonder how common this experiences are since theres so much in common, and i tought the path i took was so specific and unrelatable.
I would like to check out your music content, if you have a side channel, soundcloud or something. I'm a begginer DJ with a passion for music as well, but just as a hobbie in my case.
@MarkdosSantos i've checked out the "Don’t be a house rat", and let me say DAMN
I was an introverted teenager so i went for a sales job to try and improve that, and like what happened to you with your retail job i was blessed with a great oportunity and mentoring that made me grow like crazy during that time, to the point of making public presentations, and even beeing promoted to manager after a couple of years.
You’re amazing bro. Explained so well. This found me at the right time

As a fellow human I can only recommend it’s up to you to consider, i tell you you won’t regret it
@@whitneyandrews2438 I appreciate you watching the video, opening up about your story and leaving these kind words behind.
But... that's not discipline? That's motivation.
The thing is, you can always keep asking why. So what do you do then?
So the key is to have a coach that will remind you when you stop focusing on your why?
@@EddieTuckerIV Having a coach is beneficial in every way imaginable.
But the key is to know what your driving force is to achieve anything you want. Especially when you don’t feel like doing the work. Remember why you’re doing it, and don’t lose sight of it.
Powerful
Very good bro, im proud of you, I also have the same story, but i cant talk to the girl i wanted to marry cos she is much more successful then me and i hurt her family a lot... I wish you good health and good production.
Unless you're genuinely happy
@@EricClark-un2kt Would you mind elaborating on this further please? I’d love to know your viewpoint.
Wow
Great video. Look for the book "Mindful Self-Discipline" by Giovanni Dienstmann. It talks about your purpose and aspirations and how to develop self-discipline without forcing yourself, in a natural way aligned with your values and aspirations, like the way you are describing.
