I bought some well known designer fabric from a well known online fabric store. They were batics and had i not prewashed them, my quilt would have been ruined. So now i prewash fat quarter size and up. I always wash reds , blacks and blues. Good to see you back!
Glad to see another video! I was hoping it was holiday activities and not sickness that kept you away. I enjoy your visits concerning quilts. I stumbled on your content looking for hankie projects a few years ago. I still have a tub of hankies untouched but I have good intentions. Also with the 2 Dear Janes I’ve been working on for a couple of years. I liked seeing all your projects! I admire those who do quilt as you go. I quilt my own tops. Love your creativity and willingness to share!
Melissa, thanks so much for your comment and for watching. I am sure as quilters we all get bogged down during the holidays. Thankfully no sickness here, just very busy in a good way. I would love to see pictures of your Dear Jane quilts. It is quite a job to quilt your own quilts even if you do them one block at a time, I have been told it is equal to wrestling a bear! You might want to make a few hankie folds at a time and before long you will have enough to put your quilt together. Thanks again for watching!
@@BrendasQuiltRoomI should say I have a longarm and quilt my own. I did a queen sized quilt on my sewing machine and that was it for me. It was enough to make me bite the bullet and take out a loan and get a longarm.
@@melissaragland1096 Oh I understand. I don't have room for a long arm machine, so I will continue to develop my skills in QAYG. However, do you do longarm service for other people?
I really enjoyed your video and see that you've been really busy working on various projects. I wish there were links to the patterns you used in your video in the description box. I'll just go back and watch it again as I'd like to make some of the items as well. Have a great day and I hope to see another video soon.
Hi Connie, thank you for watching and commenting on my video. I will try to remember to put the links for other projects in the description box going forward. The tote bag is under -Stash Busting Christmas Bags, Easy Bowl Cozy was 5 months ago. The QAYG projects I started with the Ocean Waves Quilt and I also showed the Tossed Nine Patch doing QAYG a different method. I hope that helps.
Hi Nellie, Yes you are right. The quilt is called Around the Block. I called it by the fabric line that I used mistakenly. It was really easy to put together if you need a fast project. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Kate, You can prewash a jelly roll by just soaking in your kitchen sink or laundry sink with a little bit of laundry detergent. (Might want a color catcher in the water) I would not try that in a washing machine. I have actually done this to test out the fabrics to see if they bleed at all. You would know right away if the dye starts to come out. I would swish them around and rinse with clear water. Lay them out on a towel to dry and then iron them out. It may seem extreme, but you don't want a ruined project either. Sometimes it is best to take the long way around. I know I ironed out 6 yards of fabric and it takes a while, but now I know that I have washed it, it is colorfast for a project. Hope that helps.
I will definitely wash all my other Pioneer Woman fabric first. It is heartbreaking to make a project and have the dye run. Always trust your gut and if in doubt, just take the time to wash it first. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi Pauline, thank you very much for your comment. I am going to work from the assumption that you are new to my channel and very glad that you're here. If you have viewed any of my prior videos, you will note that I have and do show how to construct the quilt blocks behind me. On this particular video however the quilt behind me is copyrighted by Coriander Quilts, thus I am not at liberty to offer complete pattern instructions. I offer the source where I got the pattern so other quilters can check out that website at their convenience. One final word to anyone who may read this reply - I do not receive any monetary compensation for my channel as I have not monetized nor do I have any intentions, so I fail to see how showing viewers what I've been working on can be considered "click bait." Thank you for your time and input.

How would you wash a jelly roll? Wouldn't it all fray to useless?

I bought some Pioneer Woman fabrics and it ran terribly also. I was so disappointed. Maybe that’s why Walmart quit selling it.
