after procrastinating for about a year, i decided to play and finish TWD saints and sinners, and i can heavily relate to everything in this video, i almost bought my two friends be headsets because this game was so good

The entire "putting your eyes too close to the screen" thing is based off of the fact that tv screens used to put out lots of radiation when too close. Nowadays tv screens are safer for close view due to radiation limitations making it safer, radiation limitations also exist for pretty much every screen that exists right now so now anyone that says that putting your eyes to close to the screen is an idiot, unless the screen is full brightness in which case you should turn down to match the environment around you so your eyes dont get confused and start blinding themselves when looking somewhere else then looking back at the screen because of the fact your eyes adjust to the brightness of the thing your looking at.

Ok update time: so I actually got the walking dead saints and sinners and for the person that said they were stuck in the menu because the couldn’t adjust their hight, you have to press and hold down the left (or right I could be wrong) joystick.
That's gonna suck

First time I realized that I was having a mental breakdown cause it was too dark in the house I was looting and I was so scared I was literally hyperventilating. Thanks to the zombies being able to hear me I was immediately swarmed by 10 or so zombies and proceeded to kill them off all the while loosing my shit in a mix of actual adrenaline and panic

My scariest experience was in the house when u get the key for the attic, I heard a trap go off and looked at the stairs and seen 3 walkers, I thought I was dead, but I had a glass bottle on my hip so I took it out and killed 1 with it, the second after that I got grabbed and I dropped the glass, I shook the zombies off and frantically reached for my pistol and shot one, then the other, I just wanted to share this because I thought it was a cool situation and story

I totally agree with this. For the first few days, it feels like death is just around the corner, but once you beat the game and unlock all the craftable items, you feel like you can take on an entire horde.
Speaking of horde, it's a great way to make sure players don't stay in one spot for too long. (I learned that the hard way, and how I also accidentally unlocked the achievement "Shaken But Not Stirred.")

My first real experience in vr was star wars Vader 3, specifically the lightsaber dojo, reflecting blaster bolts is much more satisfying to do in vr than any other time, especially since you can dual wield both double sabers, saber+blaster, saber+detonator, blaster+detonator, double blaster's or all detonators.

half the time i refuse to go into houses even now and in my game session ive got the sheriff revolver, national guard knife and have beaten more people to death with a barbed wire bat than negan has.

Duck Season is the only horror video game that has legitimately made me pass out from exhaustion. That last part where you are waiting for the dog to come at you in the living room lasted damn near 10 minutes, and afterward I just sat down and conked out.

by far the scariest part of twd s&s is the fact that if you open a door with a walker on the other end, the door will burst open. It can really catch you off guard and I'm always terrified every time I open a door lmao

i just finished the story, incredible experience. and there is still so much to do !! trial mode is amazing and addicting, get the katana, its the most fun you'll ever have 10/10 vr game. a perfect example of really good virtual reality can be :)

The one thing I would change is that the walkers and humans aren't threatening at all. The only thing holding you back is your fear. You realize this very quickly. Humans stand there and stare at you while you shoot them and their friends. If you are hit, or bit, it does nothing. A herd can jump you five or six times and you'll be fine.

I have to say that my favorite part of this game is the trial (the horde mode). After playing for a while, I was having so fun killing things, but I had just gotten too good at doing it. I love optimization, so once I figured out how to arrange my inventory so I never got caught off guard and then learned how to use the shove mechanic, the zombies didn't pose any real challenge. I could either wait a full 10 minutes for the bells to ring and intentionally keep myself from heading home, or I could become a full blown psycopath and ravenously hunt down any humans I could find. Neither of these were particularly healthy or challenging. But the trial is awesome. You grab unique weapon recipes and powerups by exploring the map, then you try to survive for as long as possible, and you can choose to move constantly to make sure that the horde never catches up to you, or you can hole up and brace yourself for endless waves, and you can use all of the coolest weapons to their full effect. The feeling of using a bow, knocking down zombies one after another like you're Legolas and shooting them from so far that their agape mouths don't even render is totally awesome. Also, unlike a lot of other endless horde mode games, it finishes after a certain number of rounds. This is great because the round count is almost impossible anyway, but it gives you a goal to always keep going after rather than deciding that what you did was just good enough. Solid experience for all skill levels.
So in the new dlc for the walking dead vr you won’t really feel safe anymore in your bus because the tower guards break in and you chase them out, and after the dlc at a random time they go back to your bus again it’s terrifying

while I disagree that Pavlov, Fallout 4 (to an extent) and Job Simulator are more 'experiences' than 'games', Saints & Sinners is DEFINITELY leagues more fleshed out as a VR game. definitely one of the most impressive ones released so far. I'm looking forward to HL:Alyx and the completed Blade & Sorcery to join it. Blade & Sorcery, if you're unaware, has a ton of planned stuff like equipment progression, campaigns, and RPG elements and expects it to be finished sometime next year if things go according to schedule.
The after effects of VR ARE SO ACCURATE. looking at my hands after a long play session feels weird and once I woke up to turn off my computer alarm, i raised my hand trying to “toggle” the laptop off😭

I once fell onto my back (head was lifted, no injury) after being swarmed after dusk in the middle of a street playing this and lost my fire discipline and began to fire wildly into a crowd of walkers as I struggled to slash my offhand knife around. I didn’t even realize how into it I was until I died and my wife and mother showed up to see what the noise had been.
It’s definitely my favorite on the Oculus Quest 2 without the cable of the Rift.
The grass cutter/Absolution is a joy to go through a 12 o'clock herd. At one point I just hung out at the skiff practicing my decapitation skill.
Still have yet to decapitate one while throwing a clever.

If you play Skyrim and want mods with super immersion like a body with inverse kinematics, visible weapon holsters, gestures to cast spells (all VRIK), throwing weapons like Thor throws his hammer (weapon throw vr), and a complete magic overhaul without using the menu (spellsiphon), have a look at my channel :) I'm a mod in r/skyrimvr and created the channel to give people gameplay and mod news, so you can be sure you get to know the latest shit.
For those who don't know, flick your wrist with the revolver chamber out and it'll flick the chamber back into the revolver. Same with the double barrel shotgun being able to flick your wrist upward to snap the shotgun back together. Soooooo satisfying.
