Least troublesome of my nitro heli's is my 27 yr old Kyosho Nexus 30. See it fly again in 2024.

- It was great when I got this helicopter from Joe in 2017. It came at a dark time in our life right after the fire. Hoping to fly it with him, it did not happen, as he could not make the trip this year. So I flew it anyway. Not sure but this gallon of Torko Racing fuel, sure seems to have more oil in it, but at least it didn't lean out and quit. Thanks for watching, liking, and subscribing. ~Dave
I still love the old nitro or fuel type planes. I grew up on second Street, in Sibley, and our next door neighbor had airplanes, the ones where you just turned in a circle, and they were on a wire. Used to love the sight, sound, and smell of them.
Right on, Sam. Stop by sometime and well fly something. Thanks and stay well.
I remember reading about this one & seeing the advertisement page on this Kyrosho helo in several different R/C magazines! It sounds like my Hirobo Shuttle with the O.S. 0.28! Thanks for sharing📻 🚁🙂👍🏻!
What is the tiny white & orange r/c helo ya have sitting in the back???
@@truckerray7533 Right on. I just flew my Shuttles as well in this series of me flying all my helis at least 1 more time in my life. The orange white one, is a WL Toys Power Star AS 350. I flew it, but haven't produced a video on it, since I was doing nitro stuff first. Check out my latest vids for others, and thanks so kindly. Happy flying. ua-cam.com/users/nightflyyervideos.
@NightFlyyer Will ya make a video in the tiny AS350 Astar? That would be awesome to see!
@@truckerray7533 Got several of them on my channel if you search.. Here is a link to one of the recent ones. Thanks and enjoy. ua-cam.com/video/-d_6_vc2PnE/v-deo.html
3:28 That's perfect Dave the more smoke the better especially during the summertime on those hot&humid days.
Awesome job on the flight Dave I really enjoyed those low inverted hovers as well👍👍😁😁👍👍
Right. I mentioned that in the vid description, as your right, more oil, less lean out and freeze up. I am happy you liked that. Thanks much, Cue!
@@NightFlyyer Anytime Dave!😁

Nice flying..great gift from Joe!
Yes for sure. Thanks kindly.
Nice, you brought back memories as I had one Kyosho Nexus 45 with the flapping head heli!!
Flapping hinge was the deal for sure, on Flybar helis for a while. Glad you approve. I flew my Kyosho SR recently in the dark, also a flapper. LOL. Thanks much.
Great flying Dave, Yeah goto love the old nitro helis :) I wish I had kept one of mine now.
I am glad to hear that. I had a few cars I wish I kept too! LOL. Thanks much.
Sorry that Joe had to turn back around, that’s too bad. I believe I flew that bird back in 2017, right? Anyway, it’s an awesome heli and it flies very smoothly. Nice flying as always, sir. Semper Fi.
You did fly it. Not many would I allow to fly something with only a simple tail rate gyro, and nitro, but you did great. Thanks much and Semper Fi, Scott!
I love seeing these old nitro heli's still cutting the air. I'm more into cars than aircraft, but I still think nitro is superior to electric. Yeah electric is easier and more convenient, but nitro is more hands on and makes the hobby fun. Plus the smell is awesome.
Glad to see you back! I remember when you lost everything in that house fire :(
Yes, it has been a trip. Lots of folks helped me get started with gifted planes and helis, so that got me out of depression. Thanks very kindly.
I have Tiger 30 that need to dust off and get operational again. I love watching this latest series, especially the Nitro ones. I keep meaning to ask, what camera are you using strapped on the side of your head for some of those shots? Thank you for all the videos and a few memories. I can almost smell the nitro watching you fly. 🙂
Right on. Get to it. Take it from me, time is going faster and faster. The camera is this: ORDRO EP8 4K Camcorder 60FPS Vlog Hands Free Wearable Camera, Head-Mounted Video Camera for Vlog, Auto Focus, Wi-Fi APP Control, 2-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer with Fast Charger & Remote Control , as taken from Amazon. It is convenient. I appreciate you and am happy you are watching. More to come, God willing. Thanks kindly.
Hi Dave,
The Nexus sure beat the Shuttle where aerobatics was concerned. What engine is in the heli? When I was rooting in my storage unit, found a Kalt Whisper that I never completed. Have everything but the rotor blades. It used a 540 brushed motor and nicad batteries. Have already ordered a replacement brushless motor, ESC, blades, and Lipo to get it running. Stay tuned. You and Ilea stay safe.
I called whisper!! That’s great to hear those were pretty cool at the time anyway thanks a lot and I’ll look forward to hearing about all that. Thanks.
27 years ago! Wow, it's so good to see you still flying this beautiful machine after such a long time. I love the design of the canopy with this fullsize like clear (transparent) windscreen. They had a real beauty in the design! I am flying since 3,5 years now and I am 63 years old. So I started with 60! I hope I can fly my helis for 27 years! I would be 87! With a bit of luck, regular less intensive sport I hope to get there!! Thanks for this nice video and greetings from Poland! PS: What effect has contious inverted flight on the lubrification and fuel delivery in these Nitro engines? I have seen you kept her quite a while upside down. I was already getting worried. Thanks for a short answer!!
Right on and greetings to you in Poland. I'm 77 now, and its still a rush to fly this thing. The engine fuel is pressurized and the 2 stroke engine will run fine in any position, so not to worry. I appreciate you and thanks so kindly for watching and commenting.
@@NightFlyyer Thank you very much for your kind answer! Good to know the motor is fine! I wish you many, many more years fun flying and many wonderful flights and that your camera girl will always be by your side!!
This has prompted me to give my nitro helicopter another fly.
Right on. Go for it and happy flying.
My friend
Looks super locked in, or is that just your skills?
Both. 😀 Not bad for only a simple rate gyro on the tail rotor. Thanks kindly.
What is the brand of those 550 blades on your Nexus and are they designed for a fly bar head? Thanks in advance and Nice flying!
They are Zeus 550 blades. I could not find blades that were the right size for this years ago, so got these, then cut them short enough so they didn't hit the tail rotor. They work pretty good. Thanks.
@@NightFlyyer thanks
@@NightFlyyer thanks. I used Align 550s on mine but did not need to trim them.
Hola!! Nice un gusto en saludarte, sigo tus videos desde hace mucho tiempo, tenia un helicopter walkera 4 channel y vi tu video...XHeli Exceed RC Falcon 40 Heli hace 14 years 😃 me ayudo mucho.

Hola! I am so happy to hear that. Those were cool helicopters. I wish the Falcon 40 was still around, as that was a perfect helicopter for beginners. Oh my God, that link is to my video from like 14 years ago. WOW. Thanks so kindly. I appreciate you.

Nannoo Nannoo! 🗿
Cool helicopter, nice flying Dave, smooth inverted action and great camera work from Ilea, keep it up!.😊👍,
Thanks much. Yes, she does real well with her Iphone. Got another coming up, so will try. Thanks again.
Thanks Dave! It sucks to turn around like that, but I didn’t want to share what I was bringing.
I know, and hear your still not up to speed. Thanks and get well.
Looks to me that you've still got many years left to fly. Impressive inverted hover.
Thanks very kindly Kevin. I appreciate that. But you know age is creeping up on me. Thanks again and God bless.
The Nexus 30 was my first heli in 2002, and even then it was old, and had a mechanical gyro. That heli met its maker (learner dum thumbs). Bought a new kit (must have been one of the last kits left for sale) in 2003.
Progressed onto a TT Raptor 50 but gave up large nitros not long after to fly smaller electrics. Still have an ancient TT E325 which I’m converting to Flybarless and wrapping it into a TT AH-1W Cobra fuselage.
Right on. Thanks and happy flying.
nice flight thanks for the vid.....
Thank you and thanks for watching as well.
Its nice to see a true pilot at work. Such stable controls
That is a nice, kind thing to say. I appreciate that, but I am getting a bit more shakey at my age of 77. Good thing, I'm a pincher. LOL Thanks so kindly.
@NightFlyyer your welcome ive become a pincher in recent years myself with my cheapo helicopter it makes a difference
Good to see this classic helis still flying. Nice video ! Greetinggs
Thanks Viper!
