John Mulaney's ability to keep a straight face is totally underrated. Between this and the sketch with Kate McKinnon trying to whistle I'm starting to think he's superhuman. The man does not break.

All of these jokes were hilarious but like 40% of them were completely missed by the audience

They tried. It's called "Mulaney" and it got super cancelled bc his stand up dosent translate well.

Mulaney (the show on TBS) was so terrible, it took me until last year to discover that John is a comedic genius.
Helen loves cats that wasn’t the issue at all. johns writing translates brilliantly past his stand-up material- he wrote for SNL first and has since created Oh, Hello, several episodes of Documentary Now!, and numerous other random scripts. the writing for Mulaney wasn’t its biggest issue, the concept was just awful, which is fine. doesn’t mean he doesnt have what it takes.
@@12345trashboat He'll get another chance. Controversies aside, Louis CK's first show a traditional sitcom and wasn't very good either. He hit his stride the 2nd time doing something completely different.
Yeah Mulaney was on Fox first. I heard they basically tried to make the modern Seinfeld. Like that's what he had to do. And the show was awful, and I think he became funnier because of it. He learned a lot.
I like how John just kinda folds. His lanky legs and long arms and he just doesn’t know where to put them.
