An S-Class always has the best that Mercedes can offer at the time that it's made. Meaning it will have what most of other brands call innovative for the following 10 years.
Ooh my god the weeknd I’m your biggest fan
So true-and the same can be said of the E-Class to a slightly lesser extent. My 2006 W211 E350 came with many features back then that slowly became ‘the norm’ for today’s mass market vehicles.
The longest I've seen you smile about your enjoyment of a car yet randy. I can tell you really love that car and I have to agree it is so refined and sophisticated. Thanks Randy
Randy, the soft close feature is for elegance and easy going people who are gentle on things. Lets just say they are perfect for people who DO NOT slam doors.
So not for him you are basicly telling us
you are one lucky son of a gun, i hope you enjoy this car. used to see a lot of these (i live in england) wow my view has changed of this a lot
Hey! As for the sticky buttons in the center console, buy the WURTH WG-5 spray and literally soak the area. I have a the same car and those buttons get sticky and make them impossible to press because sometimes coffee/juice/other beverages spill in that area due to it being so close to the cup holders, what you do is get that spray and soak that area down (it wont damage the plastic or the buttons or the electric wiring underneath so don’t worry, and press the buttons to get the spray down the crevices, once the button releases and you are able to press it and it functions, continue with the rest.
If a button is still sticky keep spraying it to soak it and keep pressing it still it releases. Hope this helps and saves you money!
180K miles is barely warmed up for a Mercedes that has been maintained. And you are right, those are the best seats in any car ever.
lol keep telling yourself that
Lmao,this is NOT a 1980s mercedes
yeah, it's only 300 KMs
@@pete23234 I have owned these cars. They are tanks.

A paint correction would do it a world of good. Black paint is such a pain to keep looking good.
Great find! The s class should come with a warning: "you can't drive anything else after you've driven an s class!" Simply the best in everthing.
I had a 2003 Mercedes E500 with almost every option. I had 4 climate controls, heating, cooling seats with massage and dynamic, I had turning headlights, radar cruise, even a cooler in the front armrest, and 3rd row suicide seats. Also had air suspension and a car phone because Bluetooth wasn't a thing yet. I bought it for $21k about 10 years ago. Super nice!
Beautiful car Randy 💯🚘🔥👍. Yeah your right about the wheels, lack luster. No worries, wheels are easily replaced for the new owners personal preference. Appreciate the Saturday 🎬 Randy, have a good weekend ( All ) Salute 😎✌️
I've had quite a number of S Classes over the years from the W126 onwards. They're great when they're working but just pray that they never go wrong. These days there's just so much to go wrong. I have my fingers crossed for you
Hello Randy. The 2014 Mercedes S550 is a great looking car. Hopefully there is nothing to much wrong with it.
Hi,am in Nigeria,I love your channel,I love cars, started driving dec.25,1979 and am learning alot from your channel,
What a fantastic car, I bet you could make a profit selling it on especially after it has been cleaned up, it will look brand new, excellent video Randy, have a great day
Uncle Randy always finding the Deals! Can’t wait to see Brian do his magic! ❤AAR
Bought a 2013 s550 for 21000 TTL out the door.89,000 on the clock.Pearl white, sandstone interior. Not a daily driver for me. Just a weekend toy and stored in winter.4matic and all the other goodies. Bought it last October.Traded a vette in on it. Got tired of getting in and out of them. Had 13 of them throughout my life plus other sports cars.Good luck with yours.
Love my 13' S550 too. Ever since I first laid eyes on the W221 I always said I'd have one eventually.
Are the 4matics good for winter driving?
I think the dealer was overly optimistic when they were pricing the car and maybe when they bought it. Once again you were able to get a great car at a reasonable price. First thing I thought of was, the wheels are holding the car back and need to be changed. Great car and video. Thank you.
I am not surprised that the car runs and drives fine and no warning lights and everything works. Because it has been DRIVEN and maintained. I have always owned Mercedes cars and I know them well. They don't like to sit for long periods of time and not be driven. You need to DRIVE them and maintain them of course
how often?
Happy owner of 5 previous Mercedes currently driving 2 Mercedes diesels ,if you stay up to date with recommended service and maintenance they will perform and last significantly longer than other vehicles, As you stated drives like new, l agree with you also. Just serviced front suspension on one vehicle ,drives like a brand new car. As all German cars depreciation is horrendous, maintenance is not cheap, but the over all quality of ride and engineering is superior ,to the competition, S class are referred to as Panzer's ( tanks):
Honestly, those wheels are nice, I don't mind those wheels. Yeah they're smaller BUT they do help with the ride and I like those type of wheels too, it adds to the luxury look of the vehicle
I remember you posting this on Instagram i think! Have to take a chance crossing my fingers. Good to see it was taken care of. Very nice Benz! Got a feeling it will be fine. Makes wonder why it was a red light. Always look forward to your videos

The only big issue is valve cover gaskets on these cars. They're a pain to do because of the DI fuel lines. But since it has a new timing set, the valve covers have definitely been done.
Also air suspension
@@laszlogaspar1244 true that
unfortunately they are more expensive issues,I just sold my 2015 with 175K miles to CarMax for $ 12K as it was "not fixable " .There was a combustion misfiring on the 8 th cylinder signal above the permissible limit value ,one side of the engine block need to be rebuild.
That is a problem Mercedes has a bulletin out
The transmission jerked under ballast we never could figure out what was the problem but the car was actually not driveable
The headlights LCD stopped working first one later the other ,communication with control unit ,mal funktion with the camera
Mercedes bulletin replace headlight ,they are almost $3000 each ,we replaced a cheap chinese control module what solved the problem at least till I sold it
I have 2 of the best mechanic in my town working on it and they gave up
The m278 does not have valve cover gaskets. It is a sealant. I have never found one leaking from the valve cover. Only the front cylinder head covers and cam magnet seals, which is a fairly easy repair. Coolant lines can become brittle and brrak over time, which is a PITA. Valve seating issues leading to misfirees, but recently has become an extended warranty by MB. I just did ine a few weeks ago, both heads. Engine and transmission comes doen with shbframe.
@@Bolsaa aq
Nice score. the ECO is for engine start and Stop at stops, where the gear indication letters on instrument panel, will be a green ECO when on. S and E button is for transmission, E is also called Comfort, the transmission usually starts in 2nd and smoother shifts, the S is standard is also a little more aggressive.
Would of thought ECO would effect the transmition and throtte and climate control, as in keeping engine revs low and changing gear sooner as well as reducing throttle response time as in what BMW does (Had 2013 manual).
@@ascelot The E/S button does all of that, if you turn off the start/stop ECO button, the fuel map, throttle map, and trans shift points for eco are still on, just not the start/stop. Supposedly for short quick stops, like a street with stop signs at every block, for instance.
My 2006 Infiniti M35 has adaptive cruise control also lane assist. Yes I truly believe the s class Mercedes is leaps and bounds above most auto makers but they are also using technology that came from the Japanese car scene
I just purchased a 2016 Mercedes E350 with 27k on it. You give me hope that I can keep my Benz for a very long time. I'm not surprised on the other hand because Mercedes has a much tighter tolerance when it comes to engine, components, body, etc. Another party trick I discovered was that if you open the car with your key fob and keep pressing the unlock button, all windows and sunroof open up!
Keep up the great work. Doing a awesome job at it.
Them S-Class cars are among of the best for real! I used to have a 2006 S500 and I loved it

Wow what a score she’s a keeper you look good in that car
It's a nice car. I would enjoy driving it then sell it before something expensive needs to be fixed. I haven't been in a drive tru in my Roadmaster because I am afraid of getting stuck. It's a big car. Most things here are made for smaller cars. The Roadmaster also soaks up the bumps beautifully.
The Mercedes s600 was the reason I subscribed , loving the new purchase
Keep the old school going Randy
The grills on the back of the front seats are the inlets for the ventilated front seats. Please note that they are not airconditioned, but rather just circulate the air that's in the back of the car and through the seats.
ikr. he is overreacting with that bs, just air and thats it lmfao
I’m so glad you said something about those wheels. I was going to comment and say that they look like some hubcaps you’d buy at autozone for a base model Camry
Randy thats a lovely lovely Car. I think you got a great deal with it. Especially as its a 2014. 😊 Brand new in some places lol. Imagine buying it when it was new and 1 owner. God Randy you have too make some money on this. Guess who's going to go nuts. MIKE will love this when he sees it lol

Hey Randy, Love your channel, wouldn’t miss an episode! You mentioned in this post about the broken Cadillac you were going to fix but you already posted fixing it so I guess these are not exactly in order! That’s OK. Would love to get some brief updates? What’s going on with your uncleshouse in Indiana? Love you see you fix the convertible top on the Mercedes that’s probably in the parts you said you ordered. Looking forward to the 40 Chevy! And the power tour with monkey wrench Mike! Good luck to getting the title for the Kia or some resolution a lawsuit seems to be in order
OMG, I need this car in my life. Just GORGEOUS!!😍😍😍
It's great mate, I love the wheels. Larger rims get bent
This a pretty base level car and that is the standard stereo system. The optional system is pretty noticeable with the tweeters that spin out of the door pillars and a large speaker in the ceiling between the front and back seats
No it's not the standard stereo system, it's the mid size. standard has black plastic speaker covers.
@@vornamenachname5589 Not in the United States...perhaps it does in other markets. In the US cars this was the standard system. The Burmeister High end 3D system variant was an option for about $6400
yep, im missing a lot of options, and i mean a lot, Where are the screens for the back for example?
@@MarcelHVAC The screens in the back are rare option. There are about 4 levels of back seat options. The lowest level one is the power rear seats, which this one does not have
@@turnne So not really a car to drive a vip.
For that money, hold onto it and enjoy the luxury for a while. Beautiful cars. Look at a current S Class and you'll see what's going to be standard equipment in twenty years' time.
Nice video Randy, Turn that 550S into cash. Don't hold on to it.
Congratulations my brother I’m so happy for you. Keep this one for a year or two and sell it and still make a profit.
Look at the driver side door the front fender needs to be adjusted there’s not a even gap between the door and fender and the bumper problem should go together
What an incredible car! 🥰😍 congrats!
Sweet ride Randy but you do have to admit the previous owner got to enjoy that Mercedes for 189000 miles. Its a fine ride so what did they replace it with??? Maybe a Maybach???
You are becoming Hoovie! Great content, very entertaining. Subscribed
Id buy this one quicker then the current model , much better looking car .
I agree. I would change the wheels to the multi spoke AMG wheels for that car though.
i don't get how they came from the elegant w222 to the ugly W223. nor do i understand why people buy this.
@@vornamenachname5589 People who buy them new are rich folks who can afford to trade them in after 10,000 miles. I personally am an indirect Mercedes enthusiast (meaning I like them but will never own one). But yes the W222 is much more sexier looking than the current W223.
Super Mercedes, I've been dreaming about it for a long time, greetings from Poland
That is a very nice S-class for that kind of money. The wheels are the only thing I can see wrong with it. They don’t look like they belong to a car like that. ( Maybe on a Hyundai?). A nice set of AMG wheels would be perfect.I would expect a lot more visual wear and tear on the interior with the mileage it has. Clearly, it was used as a family car for younger kids, hence the body scuffs. Most will come out with buffing and polish. The S-class is a bucket list car for me as well. This car just proves that proper maintenance makes all the difference with Mercedes.
@Jason McCord
Those are the base wheels and it makes sense as this particular one is a pretty base car with almost no options except the Distronic...which I have never seen one without that option
If it has the magic body control which detects the road imperfections ahead, it has abc.
Really enjoying the content now Randy!
Keep them coming, and as always thanks for your ongoing videos!
Love that Mercedes! I believe you made a good purchase.
Find a sexy set of wheels that fit an S class! congratulations on the unbelievable purchase deal!
Just traded my 2014 W222 (S Sedan) for a 2016 V222 (S 63 Coupe). If the timing set was just done, YOU ARE GOLDEN! As the trouble items WP, Tstat, Turbo cooling lines and cam phasers are new. Mine had 100k less miles and I got $27k for mine. With 2 Benzses, you need to be on MB world forum.
The w222 is the short wheelbase Sedan which the us doesnt have, the LWB s sedans are the v222, the Maybachs the x222 and the Coupé/Cabriolet are the c/a 217
I have never been in any other brand of cars including Lexus or Toyota that in general can feel as new as an MB at those miles.
In Germany they are at around $35k with similar miles.
There is a 2016 S350 for sale with 310k miles for eample.. for the equivalent of about $31k. Another one with 290k miles for about $38k...
You get the picture.
Man this is great on so many levels. The best part is it's had the timing job done recently, which (hopefully) means they also replaced the seal that can go bad behind the timing cover. I have a 13' S550 with the M278 and am dreading doing that seal.
The seals on the 2013 S550 are easy on the cam covers. Use a torque wrench though when putting the new screws back in (5 nM) because those little bolts are easy to break off and if you break one at the bottom, you'll likely not be able to recover due to the tight spaces. Also once you get covers off, Loctite makes a gasket remover spray for this LOCTITE SF 7200, do not, I repeat do not use sand paper or anything other than the spray and a soft cloth to get old material off if there's any left on it. Then use LOCTITE SF 7063 to clean it before putting new gasket sealant on. Use the sealant Mercedes sells and get the new bolts from dealer. You will also want new clamps for the turbo pipes and other hoses you remove as they'll likely not want to tighten back up for you when putting back together. You'll want a 1/4 inch universal joint socket that fits the bolts as you'll need it in two locations as well as one ratcheting boxed wrench same size for one location. If your covers are not sealed now, your engine is losing compression and once you seal them, you'll notice a huge response from gas pedal. Also change your oxygen sensors, there are 4, use Bosch from Napa. For this you'll either need to drop the exhaust or have a kid or woman with very small hands for the upstream driver side sensor as its impossible to get your hand on it. Also replace your cam magnets and cam sensors. You'll need the pigtails on these to intercept any oil from getting in the main harness. ZZPerformance on ebay made pigtails for the M278 engine for this purpose. If you don't use them and oil gets to your main harness, it'll be an engine pull out ($15,000). Do all these things which are easy for anyone that enjoys turning a wrench and your 2013 will drive like it did when brand new. You'll notice a huge difference in power and gas mileage. This work is easy so no need to dread it. Doing it yourself will save you thousands of $$$.
MB has come out with extended warranty on cylinder heads for these engines. If your lucky, your car will need one, then you will get a new head and a tech will reseal your covers and all new coolant lines!
Not the cam cover gasket which you refer to as a seal. No pilgrim should ever consider buying a Benz.
Good Video Randy Let The Auto Spa Work Their Magic On It
I think Randy's in love with his new Mercedes lol
when u put it in sport mode, the valves open and it sounds good
Congrads Randy Sweet Ride!
I'm jealous, but inspired. Im looking for my car right now. Good luck, hope it gives you many miles of enjoyment.
The ECO button should light by default on startup. Press the button and the light goes out and you are in sport mode. Push it again to get back to eco mode. The button in your car probably needs a LED or has a cold solder joint or loose wire or dirty contact.
This is my new goal car! Thank you.
A buddy I went to high school with purchased a S Class & the first thing he did when he got it was remove that air ride. He knows it's a mess & will fail & be costly when it does. He is a car mechanic so he didnt wanna fool with it because replacing that air ride all around is the cost of a brand new vehicle. He loses that comfty ride but has a peace of mind knowing that he will have thousands in his bank account. Enjoy your ride.
Great video man! Keep up the good work
I have this car and it spoiled me to the point every other feels like garbage. It is truly perfect
I love the 2013 and 2014s for these s550😁😁😁they are very reliable especially when you do the maintenance yourself
good luck on your new Benz…looks nice, hope it proves to be not problematic.
Hey randy this is amazing keep it till it rust from the chassis on up
Here's a very interesting coincidence. On my 2017 Chevrolet Impala, I have Thee...exact...same bumper damage you noted at the 4:30 mark of the video. I have that bumper gap and scuff mark too. On the exact same side as well. With me the story of what happened is that I had run over some kind of roadkill (deer perhaps) in the middle of the night. No other damage other than those very same dings you noted as well. I don't know. Just thought I'd share that. But that was rather weird.
Randy, I’m a long time follower…. I love this car but I would love to see you get a Lexus LS400, ls430 or LS460. I haven’t seen on on your channel yet. They are one of my favorite cars, yet I’ve never owned one…. And for the car they seem to be reasonable priced…
With how little you have in the Kia vs what it worth, a Title Recovery Service may be something to look into. It will cost around $1500 in OK, but that would still leave a profit. Doing a video about what it takes to recover a missing title on an auction car could help offset the cost too. Heck, one of the recovery companies may even be willing to do a sponsored video.
Randy I think this is one you need for yourself for sure
Whoa this is a great find! 😀
If you got a 2014 E Class for this price that would be a bargain. This is amazing.
14:37 I always thought the eyes were the buttons on the steering wheel
You are such a lucky person to get all these Mercedes-Benz I would make an offer but unfortunately I live in Thailand.
new one don't cost $ 220000 like you are saying, also you have adoptive ride but you don't have the magic ride option that would see ahaed and set the suspension
and mike is so happy with that Mercedes
I agree, the wheels look like they were pulled from a Honda Accord.
