Was looking for a layered rum cake and chanced upon your video. Charming. I love the music and no talking. When I was a child there was a woman who made everyone's wedding cakes in my church. They were rum cakes and so delicious. I'm definitely going to give this a try and will let you know the results.
I've watched this video so many times, Chookie. The IMBC smoothness has me mesmerized, I've never tried it before. You doubled the recipe in the video description, right? I practiced with it as written and it came out awesome. The 4 eggs recipe filled an 8" tin. I used strawberry bakery emulsion. I didn't paper the 8" tin the batter fit into, just poured it in as is because I read that I shouldn't grease the tin so the batter can cling to it and climb high. That is if baking in a normal tin, not a chiffon pan. Mine puffed and climbed but shrank A LOT after. I'll try it with paper next. Did you grease the tin before putting the paper? Thank you again for this delicious recipe, so soft and fluffy!
That cake looks delicious! Your frosting job looks way better than mine ever turns out. My go-to birthday cake is usually a simple chocolate cake. I also prefer more simple cake designs :) I really hope you get to study baking and become a great baker some day! Thank you for sharing your videos

I love your duck apron😊 very cute. I baked a blueberry cake using almond flour tonight. I cook for diabetic husband, no real flour or real sugar. I still love to bake so I try new things. Your cake looks delish!
Mindy Lea oh I used to do a lot of low-carb baking myself! I used almond and coconut flour and erythritol a lot too since we have some diabetics in the family. 😊 I’m planning on making some low carb treats on my channel in the future as well.
In the future you might want to make custard for the filling. Rum flavored regular custard and A chocolate custard are the traditional Fillings. Other than that it looks delicious!
