    Awesome video. Thanks for posting. I just did the oil and filter exchange on my 2019 Spark 2up after watching this tutorial. Went down to a local shop and bought the e8 socket + a small enough to fit ratchet and got my magnet pen just in case I dropped any of the filter cage screws. Hole process was a breeze and took me about 30min.

    I enjoyed the video! I work for a small N. Carolina business renting kayaks, surfboards, paddle boards, and jet skis (two Sparks and a GTI.) I'll be servicing them this season, and maybe doing service for others as well. Your video is very informative, took away a lot of my apprehension about doing this work myself. Great job!

    Good video. Seems crazy they designed it with a closed two piece deck that makes working on it so unfriendly. I have no doubt that it runs better than my 95 Seadoo SPI, but I like the fact that popping the seat off mine reveals the engine and I don't have to change oil. The main thing I don't like about mine is that it is unstable sitting still 2 up.

    • @richmac918
      @richmac918 6 років тому +1

      You are correct, they are a PIA to work on. The top deck removal isn't all that difficult but it is time consuming as there are about 30 bolts to remove and some are not in the most convenient places to reach. I have 2 of them, really like them, but they are on a tandem trailer so working on them is even more difficult than it would be on a single trailer since getting between them is tough. Regardless, just getting the batteries out is a bitch with the top deck in place and I find that I end up removing it for my yearly maintenance rather than trying to squeeze my hands in there. Take it off to winterize and again in the spring to put everything back in place.

      If I remember correctly the cooling system is a closed system. Meaning doesn't use water from lake to cool. Only to clean impeller/exhaust

  • @richmac918
    @richmac918 6 років тому +1

    Good video except you are supposed to suck the oil out of the oil filter housing as well. Sea Doo recommends sucking the oil out, depressing the throttle all the way (flood mode so it won't start) and cranking it for a few seconds. Then suck the oil out of the filter housing again. Do this a couple times to get all the old oil out. I hate the idea of cranking the engine without oil in it but that is what is recommended.

    • @Ignerence
      @Ignerence  10 років тому +1

      There was a couple of ounces of oil in the filter reservoir that can be sucked out or just absorbed with a couple paper towels. To winterize all I did was flush with fresh water (to clean it out) and then fired her up and revved it to 5K a few times. Other then that I charge and disconnect the negative battery cable.

    • @Ignerence
      @Ignerence  9 років тому +1

      I love the spark, its not the fastest but its fun as hell (and relatively cheap). Mine's been fine reliability wise but I haven't put too many hours on it. I'm just south of Calgary, but I use this mostly on the Shuswaps.

    • @mrjetskey
      @mrjetskey 8 років тому +1

      C'mon yamaha and Kawasaki are way more reliable. I have been PWC mechanic for years and Yamaha is 1st in reliability, Kawa. 2nd, the Seadoo. But it is due to many more things to go wrong on doo. They are overengineered and reliability suffers, Just ask anyone who bought a 1992 - 95 two stroke and oil lines disenegrated a few yrs later. What about the MPEM that anytime you charge battery with quick charger its fried. Then ask about seadoo starters?? Ok Jump ahead to the 4tec Great engine then along comes IS royal Pain, then along about 2010 the IBR system ok Giant lawsuit as Seadoo with those have them going out in first year or two OK seadoo has to give 5 yr. warranty on the IBR well for anyone who had to pay out of pocket Try 1700.00 oh and What about 2006 to 2010 clusters going out after hard rain or seadoo getting Soaked???? Need I go ON??? But I love the ride ,the handling and the Engine.
