Can relate to when I first decided to look in the Philippines after seeing a few of my friends have successful relationships. The first one was the scammer who had a husband, red flags all around, always asking for money...never wanting to connect via social media, etc. She got me for maybe 50 bucks before I woke up and gave her the boot. I had plenty right off the top asking for money or a load. Now, I am married to a Filipina whose only thing she demands from me is my time and affection. Her many of her family have become my friends and have welcomed me into their family without asking for anything but to treat my wife well. I truly feel blessed.

First comment. I just experienced something like this. I met a Filipina online and she kept making comments about sending money for her church and for transportation and hotel for our meet up next month. Yesterday I received a message from her Filipina boyfriend that I should stop texting her. I immediately blocked her and reported her on Christian Filipina
I was with one that really sucked me dry and almost took everything…. Ughhh I wish I would have seen the signs before it was too late…. Her family also was always asking for help! Ughhh

Filipinas get money and attention something most women enjoy. Men can also be bad too. If it seems like someone is not being honest with you then it time to move on. This is true for both men and women. Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are embarrassed about something so there may be something else going on. It's a jungle out there.

Thanks Maya and Geo. Good topic ! I literally had this happen last night, The girl I was talking to was from the province near Cebu. We video chatted on whatsapp after texting a little. She was lying down in her bed, she has a young daughter next to her watching cartoons. She points the phone camera at her daughter and I said she is cute, turns the camera back on her and the first words out were "can you send me money,I have no food and she is hungry". I haven't even had a conversation yet !!! Well , " I m sorry I said, I don't send money to people I don't even know."
I know its tough over there but , ... any how ...the chat was so spotty because of her wifi from neighbors...at the end was a blown kiss and hearts on ending chat.
I'm not going to be in Philippines until the end of the year. This is just one instance of many, Im being bombarded online...lol , I do like the attention, great for confidence , but holy moly,

As you said most Filipinas desperately need money to live, it's not like they are professional scammers (usually) and it's up to you if you give anything or not. If you are going to give do it with an open heart and because you want to help and you aren't being scammed. Besides it's usually a little load or something cheap from Lazada. Don't give if you can't afford it. Lying to get money is different.
