Here its a pure market stategy to confuse people, as an example we are taking the rival Tata motors. 1. Battery warrenty is normally 1,60,000km for both companies, 3.5 rs per km as rent , so to cover the Warrenty km MG will pay 5,60,000km(excluding service and charging). So car cost is around 17.5-18L for a decent spec MG. 2. The real world range will be 250-280. A big spacious car with good boot capacity but the range us basic and it can only be used as city car. Who needs a big booted spacious city car?.. 3. Even Tatas punch as a micro suv will clock real world range bw 270-300km 4. In the same price bracket Nexon Ev LR is a best option as its a time tested car with fully loaded and will provide a decent range bw 300-350 on a normal usage.
Absolutely phenomenal strategy. I myself have got altroz diesel for about 10.30 lakh on road. Then im paying 4-5000 per month for fuel along with the bank emi. Wish this car was there when I was buying altroz . . .
Multi facilities offers that good but they should clear the battery price because one person use the car for life time up to 3,50,000km then only battery price will = 3,50,000 x 3.5/- = 12.25 lakhs and another person use that car up to 4,00,000 km then only battery price will be = 14lakhs. The battery price rate increases as per kilometer increase, so they should declaration the battery price rate.

There is nothing confusing about this. If you get it without the battery, the cost would be similar to a normal ICE vehicle (both initial cost and the maintenance cost).
And it seems 1500 is minimum clocking KM per month that translates to 6195 rs per KM ( @BASS 4.13 including GST). This is on Higher side considering the Range where i belive most use it in city.

No one is realising the fact that you are paying approximately 3 -4 lacks more to buy this EV initially apart from the fact you are paying for the battery each month and electricity cost which varies in every state .The issue is it's not cost effective rather it becomes expensive at the end of 4years ,all those EV users must know battery efficiency of EV fails and it requires more frequent charging .

I’m sorry but i find it really hard to make sense, first problem is the EV Charging infrastructure is not great in North india. And the looks of it i dont think it will attract the younger generation. Allthough i feel like this is could be a great product for Uber or Blusmart.
The EV batteries cost is expected to come down significantly over the years . Will they pass the benefit and reduce the battery rental cost of Rs.3.5/Km? What for some reason they decide to increase the cost of battery rental from Rs.3.5/km to Rs.5.5/km then what happens in that scenario or increase the minimum monthly KM from 1500 to 2500 ? There are many unanswered questions here which needs to be cleared by MG.
Pls when you’re calculating pricing and overall cost against a diesel , pls keep in mind you’ve to calculate against Automatic transmission not manual and the segment also. Many are comparing with Altroz or Hatchback car but this car is nexon size. Also pls calculate service costs which in EV is mostly very low. So in all I think it’s a pretty good scheme, maybe something additional needed to spice things up. Like say give the charger for free or 6months battery pack no cost something like that.

That is true but you have to appreciate their commitment plus its JV with Jindal group an Indian company. Their entry will push other manufacturers to turn to EV. The Indian market is skewed in favor of Maruti and Hyundai but now they are taking notice. So far Maruti did not respond even when Tata launched EV. But after this launch they are claiming their first EV will launch in 2026 and by 2030 they will have 3 models. So you see one launch can change things.

So to drive 300k.m
300/20= 15
Petrol rate 104rupee
104x15 = 1560
So both rate are same
But the features this car gives in this range is unbelievable

That is true but you have to appreciate their commitment plus its JV with Jindal group an Indian company. Their entry will push other manufacturers to turn to EV. The Indian market is skewed in favor of Maruti and Hyundai but now they are taking notice. So far Maruti did not respond even when Tata launched EV. But after this launch they are claiming their first EV will launch in 2026 and by 2030 they will have 3 models. So you see one launch can change things.
Even Tata sells Chinese batteries to us through their Car's.

battery cost is around 15000 rs per kwh. so 28 kwh battery will cost atleast 4.2 lakh , so base model with 28 kwh will cost at least 14.2 lakh.
