    Simple bit effective, love it - the Videonics effects are seriously underrated

    This is amazing. A few follow ups here - what kind of glitch box are you using? I didn't see any brand name on it. I assume that thing is like a video FX processor, like a guitar pedal for video, yes? Also, what is the name of the digital video mixer you are using?
    I just did a quick search and I see there are some roland video mixers that have feedback knobs built into them -- I assume they are like combo units that probably do what your video mixer and glitch box does, right? Like an audio mixer with built in effects.
    Lastly - i see a bunch of different LZX modules for sale - the unit you are using an oscillator, correct?
    Thanks for any information you can share. This is really expanding my horizons!

      Glitch box = BPMC Basic Cable (Big Pauper Modified Circuitry, out of Portland I believe) it modifies the luminance, brightness, scan lines, and glitches the image.
      Mixer = videonics mx-1, the Roland mixers are amazing and the newer models have sampling and monitors built in.
      Oscillator = 3TrinsRGB+1C, a bleep labs exclusive.
      I recommend LZX for anyone wanting to take video synthesis farther. Their Vortex Decoder is a one stop shop/excellent starting point.
      Check out Brian Tomerlin, he just got finished touring with This Will Destroy You doing their visuals. He has several audio projects as well. He's in my videos from DAMN too. He makes use of eurorack, LZX, and plenty of other toys. Quite fantastic work.

      Fantastic. You also mentioned luminaries in the beginning... pioneers in the field. Any reccos who I should check out to get some more context on the background of this art form?

      Check out Lumen by Paracosm, sweet video synth for Mac. Ronald Pellegrino is amazing and has been in the game a long time. ua-cam.com/video/u7Jl8xJyV3o/v-deo.html my inspiration comes from the first episodes of doctor who and the video artists behind The Song Remains The Same Movie. Check Lars Larsen and LZX for the best modern modular synthesis.
