Hoping my bandit will run something like this, with a stage 2 ported gsxr 750 slingshot head and slingshot cams, and a shot of nitrous I'm thinking I should be close.

actually, bandit has a gsx1100r engine and enlarged to 1157.

@@Boberation Not to mention the gsxr1100 engine is faster than the bandit1200. I've owned both bikes and the gsxr1100 has better airflow through the head and better cams than the 1200.

@@alphaomega3633 Thats probably going to be the next step on mine. Either changing the heads or porting the b12's. Though my end goal is to hit 100lb-ft. Im not really too concerned with horsepower. Im currently at 130hp/90lb-ft. Stage 3 jet kit, slip on, pod filters. Literally nothing else done to it. Surprising results to say the least

Someone must not know anything about the Suzuki SACS engines. The Bandit 1200 is the first street bike to run 7 seconds.

There's a bit of misinformation in these comments. First off, the Bandit would get smoked by a Hayabusa in stock form with equal riders in the 1/4 mile. In the 1/2 mile the Busa would even further ahead. You're comparing a 100hp 11 second bike in the Bandit vs a 170hp high 9 second bike in the Busa. Either the Bandit in this video is modified or the Busa rider was babying it. Also, the Bandit 1200 is powered by the old GSXR 1100 motor, not one of the newer 1000 motors. And, finally, Cycle World measured the Bandit's top speed to be just under 145mph. No way it's hitting 180mph.

I had a complete stock bandit other than A Vance N hines exhaust, and the Jets were changed to match.
Easily hit 165 with a gear left without, being any where near the red.
Those bikes are sleepers. Not to mention if you drop all the extra crap like the tall metal mirrors the extra metal around the rear pegs the plastic that drops down behind the tire all the metal frame crap that's just there for looks.
You have 1240cc bike that weighs less than 400lbs with the rider compared to a 1300cc motor with more than a 1200lbs with a rider. You're biggest problem with the bandit is keeping it on the ground and straight.
The bandit hole shot is way greater. The busa only wins, on top end.

@@tiggerci Im confused by a couple things here.
      1. This is a 1200cc bandit (1157 actual). It also weighs close to 500 pounds depending on year and trim and youre not losing 200 pounds taking off small pieces of metal. Typical bandit with an average rider will probably be somewhere between 650-700 pounds.
      2. Are we talking about a naked or faired bandit? I converted my faired bandit into a naked. It's a 2001 S model. Installed stage 3 jet kit, K&N dual pod filters, and have a Jardine slip on. It's making 127hp and 89ft/lbs at the wheel. It will do 160mph in 4th. With a fairing it would probably be a little quicker since my neck wouldnt be breaking off at that speed. Also motorcycles do not show the correct speed unless a speedometer healer or such is used. All speedometers overestimate from the factory by between 8-12%. So that 145mph top speed is not incorrect in relatively stock naked form. It's literally limited by it's aerodynamics. There's a reason the hayabusa looks the way it does. (Also my bandit does not currently have a speedo healer so it's probably moving at around that supposed 145mph due to the naked configuration.)
      3. A 1999 Suzuki Hayabusa weighs 547 pounds rounded up. With rider somewhere between 700-750 pounds
      4. A side note. Holeshot makes good products at pretty fair prices. However my jet kit is a stage 3 dynojet kit and makes about 10hp more and I cant remember the amount of torque more. But for near the same price

      @@Boberation was saying 400lbs plus a rider.
I had a 1200 1998 Bandit only after market part was Vance and Hines pipe with the right carb jets to match.
I was clocked at 169 mph with a gear left.
Eddie Davis took the bike over to Douglas Raceway. I watched Stock busa running high 7s in the 8th all day. That Bandit was running low 7s and high 6s with a 160lb man on it.
In the quarter an average rider is getting a high 10 on the busa. Bandit is getting low 11s straight stock. You can literally just Google track times and see that.
Hell your pros are getting 10s on stock bandits and high nines on busa.
My last bike was a busa. I did not enjoy it as much as my bandit. Simply bc the bandit was 10 times easier to handle and just as strong for everyday riding.

@@tiggerci Ah okay gotcha I wasnt sure if I was misunderstanding. I gotta say the bandit amazes me for what it is. Although I started with a FZ6R which is still what Ive been riding mostly after I was taken out on the bandit (mostly just finishing up some small repairs and it'll be good to go). It was double the displacement, power, and torque, with the jet kit I got. Makes the damn thing hard to hold onto at 3/4 to full throttle. But cruising around town it has a nice low rumble and it's super easy to manage. I love the damn thing haha
