Saw the crash; I've got the same bike and I've done the same thing! When going downhill and the front suspension compresses, you get an extremely steep head tube angle--close to 80 degrees! Excellent recipe for an endo. It's the only thing I dislike about the Roscoe 8
@@thevelointhevale1132 Even being fully locked out (not much of an option on rough downhill) doesn't really help--being in downhill position effectively increases head tube angle, anyway, relative to momentum. More of a problem with the geometry of the bike; I generally like it, but it's got a short wheel base, plus-size tires and steep head tube angle--not a great combo for stability. (The wheel base also makes the front tire "super-light" on uphills.). With the soft plus-size tires compressing easily on obstructions--abruptly slowing down forward momentum--this bike can be an "endo" machine. Just my experience. I read that buying a size up can compensate for this problem--wish I had known all this before buying.
Awesome trail and great riding too! I have been riding a Roscoe 7 for 2.5 months now and am absolutely loving it. I sometimes wish I had spent 400 bucks more here in Australia and got the 8 lol.
@@farmermick2291 man! Good on you! I am thinking too, I should have got the better components and got the 8 For 400 bucks extra! It will cost a lot more to upgrade I am sure! Congratulations! Wise decision! I just noticed you have uploaded some vids. I will check them out! Thanks for watching! Cheers. Alan
@d0mm3y1 In my very limited experience, and from the little I know, i believe that if the M/L was perfect on paper, as per the sizing and fit chart on the TREK website, and it felt a bit stretched, then it may mean ether of the following or a combination of the following: 1) Depending on what you were riding before, you may just have to get used to the geometry of the M/L TREK Roscoe. 2) If your height and inseam measurements fall in the overlap measurements between the M and M/L then go for the M cause you have shorter arms. If you are taller than the overlap height then maybe you will get used to the Reach on the M/L the more you ride it. Alternatively you could try out the M and see how you feel and choose the one that feels best for you. Cheers.
@d0mm3y1 pity about not having an M to demo. If you have long arms you may find the M a bit cramped. I am not sure if the spacers would make a huge difference but I haven't tried a bike with and without so I cannot really comment. I hope you are able to get a bike soon. Whichever size you decide on, I am sure you will have an absolute blast! Feel free to send me a msg to discuss any thoughts you may have. It's always good for me to learn new stuff too! Cheers!
@d0mm3y1 hey check out this video.....he changed the hands bars on his Roscoe 7. Have a look at the comments and my question and his answer. He reckons that the new handlebar feels less stretched. ua-cam.com/video/_ulI_f7rS5s/v-deo.html
Great to see some content on the Roscoe! Just bought a Roscoe 7 (but we're in full lockdown so I haven't ridden it much yet :( ). Such a shame there's so little content on this bike! Do you also find the position kind of puts a bit of pressure on your wrists when pedalling on flat terrain? I find myself loosing the handlerbar in the rugged downhills and feeling sore hands when pedalling on the flat.
I do sometimes feel that the ergonomics are a bit weird with my hand position but not bad enough where I loose grip on the bars. I wonder if you could use risers or a different handlebar bend to help that.
I've actually had my eye on the Roscoe 8 recently and I don't know if it's you or the bike but that trail looked like a Hot knife through butter so keep it up😁
U just bought a bike, let me get this straight. You are scared to ride it becuase you are in full lock down???? What country do you live? Communist china.
I live south of Kansas City about 40 miles south on the Kansas side and here we ride among the trees which is really nice that you can get completely out of the wind and have shade in the warmer months. Do you have those options where you are. I love the trees!
@@JordanFlynn apparently there is a problem with the rear hub on Roscoe 8s, if you watch YT on Roscoe 8s a lot of people have to change the rear hub on the older Roscoe 8s?
I was wondering I have a roscoe 8 are you able to do big drops on your roscoe 8 can it handle it? I don't want to do it on mine cause I don't know if hubs can handle it?
I haven’t done any really big drops but I’ve done some that are a few feet tall and never had any problems with the bike holding up. I actually have another video showing me hitting my biggest drop if you want to check that out
Just bought this bike yesterday! Supper excited! 🤙🏼 from so-cal
Another great ride!! Scenery is awesome as well. 👍👍👍
Thank you! Utah is hard to beat.

Can't you adjust the Fork damping for that etc?

I had a good time watching the video. I plan to buy Roscoe 9, but is it difficult to climb?
Nice trail 💪ride

What year is your 8? Lots of changes on the 2023.
This is a 2019 model! I'll have to check out the new ones.
What’s the difference between the 2020 model and the 2019 model
XPG_ Bankrupt I have the 19, I think it’s just colour honestly but I could be wrong
2020 gets a much better fork and better brakes. The 2019 Roscoe 8 is very similar to the 2020 Roscoe 7, only difference being sram NX vs SX.
I have a Roscoe 8 2020 with maxis tyres will I need to change rear hub?
Why would you need to change your hub?

That’s awesome I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for checking out the video
Jordan, would you recommend a 2019 trek roscoe 8?
It’s my first mtb so I can’t compare it to much. But I really enjoy the bike and it’s been able to handle everything I’ve thrown at it so far!
Jordan Flynn nice I have a full suspension but want a hard tail as well. Thanks!
awesome new sub
Awesome thank you!
What happened when you crashed? My video is super low quality and it looked like you just jumped off! LOL
It looked like he just fell off to me, too
