I went overboard but love my roscoe. Went to GX eagle groupset, 200 mm rotors, grips, saddle, fender, DHF front/Rekon rear tires, Raceface bars. Love the bike though.
Jordan Flynn You’ll see in the future that the faster you are able to ride the more suspension travel you need. The stock fork has “just” 120mm which is not going to be enough. I gonna upgrade to a 140mm fox rhythm 34
You've hit the nail on the head with the right parts to upgrade first on a Roscoe. Trek does a great job on the frame geometery, dropper and a half-decent drivetrain on the Roscoe range but seems to skimp a bit on contact points. Still waiting on delivery of my 7, but have already got Ergon grips, Deity Deftrap pedals, SGD saddle and a Mucky Nutz fender...
The best upgrades I have done to my 18 Coe 8 have been and in no particular order: Tires which are currently Wild Enduros in 2.6, Oneup composite pedals, Raceface Half Nelson grips, and RT66 rotors 203f/180r. Tire pressure is completely based on preference and conditions. I had Specialized Butchers in 2.8f/2.6r and I would run 15f/22r for trail and 17f/24r for park days. The WE's I have only had one ride on and that was at Snowshoe. They were something like 20f/26r. Tire pressure is just something you have to fidget with until you find what feels comfortable.
@@JordanFlynn Yes I am running 2.6's on the oem wheels. Now mind you, my Coe 8 is an 18 with Sunringle Duroc 40's and they have an ID or 35mm. Not sure if the newer wheels have slightly different dimensions.
Your contact points for the bike (grips, seat, pedals, shifters) are some of the best things to customize seeing as it’s relatively cheap and can make a world of a difference. Good choices!
I have a 2019 Roscoe 8, upgraded pedals (crankbrothers) saddle (WTB Silverado pro) Grips (PNW Components) Front fender Tires( Maxxis Rekons f/r). I weight 155lb so psi(16f/19r) I tried going tubeless on both tires but my rear one didn't want to seal off, ended up tubeless front only. Have you thought about upgrading the fork?
Had it for 6mths run standard pressure tyres live the bike. Bought padded seat and padded shorts. Feel on flat down hill i need another couple of gears. Saving for a front chain ring upgrade. Not sure what size yet.
Thanks for content . I like sticking to tubes no tubeless for me. It’s a hassle when the fluid runs low and it does not work . I upgraded to a shorter stem for better control , Renthal riser handle bars , crank bro wide pedals and a SELLE ROYAL Gel seat. The seat is not as aerodynamic but it will save your ass especially on a hardtail .
I bought a 2020 Trek Roscoe 8 in May, last one in size large at my LBS. Upgrades 1. Tubeless 2. Fatter Bontrager grips (32mm) 3. Rockshox Fender (I put it on black side out, wanted plain black) 4. Shimano SPD pedals (I prefer clipless) 5. Computer mount for my Lezyne GPS (I used safety wire inside shrink tubing to secure it to the stem instead of the o-rings) Next mod: E-type Chain guide
I have the same bike but 2020 version black and orange, I have orange stamp 1 crank brothers pedals, orange troy Lee grips, hope pro orange hubs, front and back, hope pro 4 piston brakes, sram xd driver for my sram xx1 cassette and chain, gold, gx deraileur and crank, and xx1 shifter, I done away with nx, orange 35ml hope pro stem! All in its cost me 3000 english, might make a video and post it, I also have a supercaliber 9.7 I've just got, I plan on doing alot to that aswell! But the ridiculous thing is I don't have a bottle cage just something I keep forgetting, that's what I get next I think mud guard and cage, lol, hold it down man and keep pedaling, peace!!! P.s I'm quite obsessive I like things perfect no matter the cost, almost!
@@JordanFlynn they are down hill brakes and they have plenty of stopping power, they are some of the best brakes about, you can't go wrong and there is a massive range of colours, red goes really well with grey,if I had your colour bike, red grips, red pedals, red stem, red hubs, red brake calipers, red and silver rotars, incandescent chain and cassette!! It would look epic bro!!! P.s the full set of hope brakes 4 piston with rotars is 400 english pounds that would be about 550 us I think but you can buy it in bits set of rotors 120 us then left brake set 200 us then right brake set 200us again buy in bits that's what I did it took me 7 months to buy bike and bits but it was worth it my friend, can't wait to see finished product, peace!!
I upgraded the pedals and grips (Raceface) on my Marlin Bobcat Tr5. Did you get or make a chainstay protector? I made one from a mouse pad and 3 zip ties.
What upgrades have you made to your bike and what tire pressure are you running? Thanks for checking out the video!

Sounds like yours is really set up! I'll need to check some of those out for sure.
Nice! The upgrades I did:
1. Saddle - Reverse Components
2. Grips - Crankbrothers
3. Handlebar - Renthal Fatbar lite
4. Stem - Funn 50mm
5. Tubeless
6. Brakes - Formula Cura
7. Bottle holder
8. Pedals - Crankbrothers Stamp 1
Nice! How much did you notice the new brakes?
Oh yes, it’s a huge improvement. Cura’s are known as one of the best brakes anyways. Changing to front rotor to 203mm makes it even more better.
Monster 0182 sweet I’ll have to check them out for sure!

@@Monster-hx8qx how much will that change the geometry? Trek says 120 is "max" but obviously that's what it was designed for

AWESOME upgrades Jordan.. Have the R8 2020 model coming in shortly.. Late October here in Cali, but can't wait!
Sweet! Congrats on the new bike! Luckily you should be able to ride year round.
Yes sir! The R8 is a easy climber I've heard?
It's been a great climber for me! So nice having all those gears.
James McMurry depends on your tire pressure a lot
