Thank you and your wife for stopping to get the sweet kitten in such a panicked state, as I can't even imagine! I'm happy to hear that he/she has a loving family with you all!
I don't know why any of us are surprised at what an animal is capable of archiving. We simply must remember they are smarter in this world than we'll ever be.
Had a black blind cat, "Stevie wonder" . He was so much like your cat. He loved to hunt! Would catch lizards out in the yard. His other senses were amazing. His love of life and everyone in it was unmatched. He was definitely the best pet ever, not even a close second. I cried watching your video.... I loved him so much. I'm a tattooed, muscle head with a fear of nothing and "Stevie wonder" completely turned me into mush. Love all critters
Normally I cry when I see these vids about disabled pets finding their perfect home, but this kitty is a master of adaptation and I'm just so happy for him! Cats are so well suited to a life without sight. Their super hearing and super smell and super spacial awareness and super fast and precise footwork make it so that they can function extremely well without their eyes where we would struggle. This is so incredible. Neuroplasticity is a hell of a drug!
The biggest advantage that sight has in a cat is knowing that they can hunt down their prey. If it is very close they see it badly and if it is very far they also see it badly but if they are able to see it well it means that they have lunch in sight. A domestic cat does not need to be able to do that and likewise nothing in the house is going to be at an adequate distance for the cat to see it well so in those circumstances having or not seeing it will not make much of a difference for them. This cannot even be compared to the loss of vision in a human as humans are entirely dependent on sight, it is no coincidence that human eyesight is one of the best in the animal kingdom.
reminds me of my special kitty. she’s a rescue, too, and has a plate deformity and nerve damage in her right front paw but that has never held my little ball of energy and joy back. we are both blessed
also they're especially suited to a life without the need of sight thanks to their whiskers as well! its amazing to see those work!! truly the secondary eyes of a cat :D
Though he has no eyes you can somehow sense in a way. The way he looks up at you and holds his head. You somehow feel their presence even though there are no eyes there. Fantastic !
Fun fact: Cats' whiskers are so sensitive they can sense small changes in air pressure. They don't always need to see or hear you move, because they can FEEL the air moving when you move. Blind cats will use that in combination with their hearing to sense precise motion nearby to hunt/play.
Dude this is my go to way of remembering that there are awesome people. This is the best use of youtube that exists lol. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic day today! Cheers✌
Cats can hear at three times what humans can hear. I can’t imagine how strong his hearing is without eyes! What a love and joy to watch. God bless you Rudy!!
God doesn't give a dck about animals. God is cruel. There're bunch of miserable stray dogs cats out there suffering every second, even though they do no sin at all. But god doesn't care of them
It’s amazing watching him pounce his siblings and play… and him grabbing the ball… it’s just woah to me. You couldn’t have convinced me he was blind … he is the daredevil of cats
My cat recently lost most of her remaining eyesight 2 days ago. I didn't realize she was going blind until I took her to the vet and later to the ER, where they assessed her and told me she very likely has a brain tumor. I'm glad to see there's some hope she can still enjoy hanging around our home and playing until she passes. Thank you for sharing your story and taking in cats like Rudy.

I wasn't going to cry but then I heard Moby passed away and then it just hit me like a truck that they were probably the best of friends :( I still love how Rudy wasn't bothered by sight and how much he gave and received.
I adopted an orange kitty who is deaf. He's the sweetest, most easy going cat I've ever known, but since he can't hear himself, his meow is more like a "MOWWWW!!!!!" If you didn't know him, you'd never expect to hear such a loud sound coming from such a good, gentle, go with the flow kitty! I just love him 🧡
The power of whiskers often gets overlooked and underestimated. While his elevated hearing and smell are undeniable, Rudy's whiskers are like a radar system that helps with detecting movement around himself and it cannot be understated enough how important his whiskers are in his ability to ''see'' without eyes.
I felt so bad when I first saw him, but, with this loving family's help, he has adapted so well and is such a beautiful, loving boy, I now feel only happiness for him.
I'm so happy to see this. I adopted a blind puppy and she was the love of my hubby's life. She was the smartest dog I've ever had but only lived to be 8 years old. I am so glad that you made this cat yours. There really is no greater heart than one who adopts a disadvantaged animal.
My old cat lost his sight so i got plastic carpet runner 18 inches wide. I put it throughout the house. He very quickly realized he could follow it and not risk bumping into anything. I put it up to his bowls and to the window he liked to sun in. Worked great.
It was admirable and so selfless of you guys and give a home to an VERY special needs animal like Rudy. Many people would have taken a pass on adopting a pet like him. What makes Rudy special is that since he's never been sighted, he doesn't MISS it! He thinks the whole world works that way. Thanks again for making such a selfless and special adoption. 🐱
It’s likely he had sight when he was a really young kitten. The question really is, how much was he aware of at such a young age? Probably not as much as an older kitten or adult cat.
Damn, after watching this video, I realized I had tears in my eyes. Not because of Rudy's condition, but because I am happy that there are people, like you, who do not care about the disabilities of these proud, wonderful, loving friends. Cats.
I will never think that a blind cat is ‘less than’ any other cat or animal. This cat shows us how it’s done. Just beautiful how she moves about the house and plays!
@@caramel9154 Troma was not trying to be mean, they were pointing out that living with a disability is only possible in civilised society. In the wild Rudy would be killed, there are no disabled animals in the wild, if you have a weakness something will kill you.
@@krashd didn't say they were being mean just that disabled people existed within the wild and there's kinda evidence as such, this is because humans are large heavily social animals that rely on one another. Granted this wouldn't apply to all humans but like, it is a thing, and depending on the disability [such as some ASD peeps] they might not be hindered at all. Or they'll just get different jobs to do. this popular point needs to die ngl
At 2:17, when he was at the top of the stairs jumping at the other cat, it's amazing how he knew exactly where to jump and how far to reach the perfect "attack" distance from the other cat. The computations and calculations to do that is like how Daredevil in the cartoon/movies does it.
I just cried like a baby the entire time watching this. We just lost our best friend Oliver a little less than a month ago. Out of nowhere he just didn’t seem well one day and we took him in to the vet and he had end stage renal failure. We got one last day with him after that, and he looked so much like Rudy and also had the most loving and unique personality. There’s so much I want to say but can’t think of the words. Thank you for this video and taking a chance on a cat that needed you!

That is so kind. God bless you 🙏🏾
🥲🥲
Thank you and your wife for stopping to get the sweet kitten in such a panicked state, as I can't even imagine! I'm happy to hear that he/she has a loving family with you all!
I adopted a blind senior cat years ago. In 24 hours she was navigating my apartment as if she'd spent her whole life there. It was amazing.
I don't know why any of us are surprised at what an animal is capable of archiving. We simply must remember they are smarter in this world than we'll ever be.
@@PigeonsPie1i agree with them being smart, but i mean come one humans are smarter
Cats brains are fined tuned to map out their surroundings and territory. One of the most capable blind animals, the whiskers help. :3
@@Zvxers7difference is that animals are incredibly good at adapting, for humans it's not as easily and quickly.
@@pigeon1923 the reason isn't because they are smarter, its because they have better memory
The owner is simply an angel.. God bless her and all her pets!
Plus, they sleep 20 hours a day, and that makes a difference.
also they're especially suited to a life without the need of sight thanks to their whiskers as well! its amazing to see those work!! truly the secondary eyes of a cat :D
perfectly-said!!
GOD BLESS these people for adopting these beautiful animals!!
Beautifully moving!! Animals are such a gift!!!
😻🐾🐾🙏🏻🐈
Though he has no eyes you can somehow sense in a way. The way he looks up at you and holds his head. You somehow feel their presence even though there are no eyes there. Fantastic !
Fun fact: Cats' whiskers are so sensitive they can sense small changes in air pressure. They don't always need to see or hear you move, because they can FEEL the air moving when you move. Blind cats will use that in combination with their hearing to sense precise motion nearby to hunt/play.
That little butt wiggle before dashing off always gets me 😂 cats are such funny creatures
They are testing the firmness or softness of the ground! To get a understand on how much force they can jump with :D
"He opens your eyes" statement ,I love that. A blind cat without eyes, opening our eyes to see......
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
He is very capable and surprisingly accurate. Thank you for giving him love.
I've had a really shitty day but this was an instant mood changer that I desperately needed. Thanks for being awesome people x
Glad you could fix your attitude!! 🚪💥🚪💥🚪💥
@@dapper_gent Nothing will ever help you.
Dude this is my go to way of remembering that there are awesome people. This is the best use of youtube that exists lol. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic day today! Cheers✌
What an bold, brave, handsome cat despite his blindness.
Thanks for this wonderful woman to show affection and love towars her cat
Cats can hear at three times what humans can hear. I can’t imagine how strong his hearing is without eyes! What a love and joy to watch. God bless you Rudy!!
Same like blind human ....because they are blind so focus all on hearing
Why his hearing is the only sense that's enhanced? What about his sense of smell, his sense of touch, or his mental senses?
"I can’t imagine how strong his hearing is without eyes"
That's positive ableism.
@@romeolajh1602 "Same like blind human ....because they are blind so focus all on hearing"
Sir, that's positive ableism, you can't do that.
God doesn't give a dck about animals. God is cruel. There're bunch of miserable stray dogs cats out there suffering every second, even though they do no sin at all. But god doesn't care of them
He is blind and opens your eyes! Beautiful how cats are of pure service. May GOD bless you forever together.
Thanks to his wonderful parents Rudy is able to live a normal life, doing all the things cats do. 💕
It’s amazing watching him pounce his siblings and play… and him grabbing the ball… it’s just woah to me. You couldn’t have convinced me he was blind … he is the daredevil of cats
lol I just commented the same thing lol
Your comment is awesome!!!!!
The Cat of Hell's Kitchen
My cat recently lost most of her remaining eyesight 2 days ago. I didn't realize she was going blind until I took her to the vet and later to the ER, where they assessed her and told me she very likely has a brain tumor. I'm glad to see there's some hope she can still enjoy hanging around our home and playing until she passes. Thank you for sharing your story and taking in cats like Rudy.
She will move forward across the bridge and one day you will see her again🐾
The most important part is that she was (and hopefully still is) very happy, thanks to you
@@Kuroo_Wolf ty
@@abrupta tysm. She's still here, and the steroid she's taking has really helped with her discomfort. She's eating better and more confident in moving around.

I LOVE RUDY SO MUCH!!!!!!! What a lovely household, so happy for Rudy that he has such a loving forever home.
Rudy doesn't need sight, just love and understanding and wonderful parents. The fact that he has other siblings in the house makes a world of difference for him, just the way he interacts with them makes up for his disability He's a very pretty kitty 🧡
I adore how happy this cat seems and how he’s still a playful hunter at his heart.
What a beautiful soul.
❣
He probably has bat powder
this is so heartwarming, I'm so glad he got adopted by good people.
This story made my day. Thank you for sharing! Does Rudy understand that he is blind? Does he understand that the other cats and dog can see? Rudy hunting is remarkable. Yay Rudy and the couple that adopted a special needs animal❤️
He's such a gorgeous baby. It's lovely to see how happy he is with the other furbabies and with his human parents.
i had a cat for 22 years and he went blind in the end. he would use his wiskers to go around the whole house. simply amazing
AWESOME----CAT--AWESOME PEOPLE. MORE PEOPLE WITH HEARTS--WORLD SADLY LACKING WITH CARING PEOPLE. AFRAID FOR TIME FORWARD--SELF ABSORBED WORLD. MUST CHANGE. IT'S ONLY CHANCE FOR THIS WORLD.
The fact the cat could still walk after 22 years is amazing in of itself.
Rudy is amazing to watch. I am so sorry for Moby, may he rest in peace. Being in your family, I am positive that he had a wonderful life ✨️ ❤️
Hello Diane how are you doing today
Rudi the blind cat is an examole of an animal with special needs appreciating love life and a chance at Love❤🙏 and living a normal life surrounded by kindness in a secure home🙏🙏🙏🙏
I wasn't going to cry but then I heard Moby passed away and then it just hit me like a truck that they were probably the best of friends :(
I still love how Rudy wasn't bothered by sight and how much he gave and received.
How would the blind cat feel when he realises that he hasn’t heard the dog for awhile and he can’t find it anywhere in the house?
Moby😢
I adopted an orange kitty who is deaf. He's the sweetest, most easy going cat I've ever known, but since he can't hear himself, his meow is more like a "MOWWWW!!!!!" If you didn't know him, you'd never expect to hear such a loud sound coming from such a good, gentle, go with the flow kitty! I just love him 🧡
What a freaking sweetheart 😅☺️
❤❤❤
The power of whiskers often gets overlooked and underestimated. While his elevated hearing and smell are undeniable, Rudy's whiskers are like a radar system that helps with detecting movement around himself and it cannot be understated enough how important his whiskers are in his ability to ''see'' without eyes.
I felt so bad when I first saw him, but, with this loving family's help, he has adapted so well and is such a beautiful, loving boy, I now feel only happiness for him.
Yeah, we all know this cat is probably living a better life than most of us. He’s doing just fine.
I'm so happy to see this. I adopted a blind puppy and she was the love of my hubby's life. She was the smartest dog I've ever had but only lived to be 8 years old. I am so glad that you made this cat yours. There really is no greater heart than one who adopts a disadvantaged animal.
Hello Pat how are you doing today
My old cat lost his sight so i got plastic carpet runner 18 inches wide. I put it throughout the house. He very quickly realized he could follow it and not risk bumping into anything. I put it up to his bowls and to the window he liked to sun in. Worked great.
@@ericstandefer9138 Great idea! Happy cat! 🥰
I have a blind cat and she knows every inch of my house. She uses her nose and ears more for sure.
Also the whiskers
They use their entire body. They can pick up vibrations through their feet. They are quite amazing.
Oh my rudy is so beautiful ❤️ look at him now so happy 😅 you and your husband are rudys angels 😇😇 bless all of you with much love always ❤
He just purs and purs. So glad he has such an awesome Mom and Dad oh I just love that cat, so glad he's got a great life
It was admirable and so selfless of you guys and give a home to an VERY special needs animal like Rudy. Many people would have taken a pass on adopting a pet like him. What makes Rudy special is that since he's never been sighted, he doesn't MISS it! He thinks the whole world works that way. Thanks again for making such a selfless and special adoption. 🐱
we can never know exactly.
He's smart, too. He learned how to adapt perfectly.
It’s likely he had sight when he was a really young kitten. The question really is, how much was he aware of at such a young age? Probably not as much as an older kitten or adult cat.
It seems like this family has benefitted as much as Rudy has. He's beautiful and precious.♥️♥️
❤💐😊
My heart just aches to see how kind people can be! Rudy is just the epitome of love!
Looooooooooooooove❤
Wow!!! What an amazing boy!!! Love him. And kudos to his parents for adopting him!!!❤
Damn, after watching this video, I realized I had tears in my eyes.
In the wild they would be less.
Absolutely hes so darn precious.
@@StinkyGreenBud not really
Thank you and your husband for being such beautiful animal people and with the love shown to Rudy, it is very heartwarming.
I thank God that there are still such loving people in the world who give their hearts to an animal.❤
This family was meant for this cat. They abso know what they're doing .... thats what warms my heart the most!!

Hello Frances how are you doing today
When I hate the world for what they have become, I find these videos my I tear up and realize "there are good people" who take in such animals and give them a home and love. Thank you to those out there. As a rescue kitty owner - it's warming to see love out there.
Don't hate, hate is just negativity that does no one any good, especially yourself.
Instead resolve to resist wrong doing with all your being and heart.
I have had a great deal of pleasure from doing good no matter the odds.
Hate is self-harming. Love is self reflecting.
Choose Love always(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
What a inspirational story. I love how animals just go on in life, no self pity, ever! They give us unconditional love and show us absolute strength.
What a sweet, sweet story that came out of a sad one. Rudy is a doll. It's amazing how well he has adapted, and espectially how well he can judge distance of one of the other cats or the dog. He clearly is well cared for and well loved, and is very loving in return. Thank you for taking in special needs animals. And it IS good for people to see how well things can work out. Much love to Rudy and his human and critter family!

My deepest condolences for the loss of Moby. Thank you for sharing and for giving these gorgeous babies a loving home where they are obviously very happy 💖

Rudy is such a sweetie 🥰 I love the little sounds he makes when he's talking! Animals are amazing at their ability to adapt to disabilities. Thank you for not overlooking him because of it 🙏❤🐈
My blind cat's FAVORITE thing is kitchen soccer. I kick the bell ball to her and she swats it back. She also has amazing timing. I take her out in the cat stroller and she hangs one arm over the side and enjoys the breezes. We go to the park so she can just RUN without bumping anything. She really impresses me and teaches me everyday. Her name is Isla I Love You! Isla for short😀 I really enjoyed your video. It's nice to learn about how other blind cats enjoy their day. Thank you for sharing.
God bless you, kind soul. You are amazing.❤
Amazing how well Rudy has adapted to his loss of sight. He looks like a super happy, well adjusted kitty and good on you for providing the special little guy with such a loving home.

Thank you both for choosing Rudy. Your love for him, and all your pets is plain to see. ♥️♥️
I love this triumphant story of Rudy. He is amazing. It brought tears to my eyes because it was such a beautiful story. Watching Rudy play and pounce on the other cat was amazing. Animals with disabilities need loving homes and can bring so much joy to your life!
