Our Aikido sparring is called randori where multiple people try to gang up on you and you try your best to survive using techniques you practiced. It doesn't really help with performing the techniques, it mostly just teaches you that you gotta keep one guy between you and all the other guys if you don't want to get beat the fuck up.

Kicking and punching can break bones, but its more about luck, how tough your opponent is, if he was staying still during your punch etc. While Aikido, its safe to say, works directly on bones, no chance to miss, cause u literally holding a limb in your hand, doesnt matter if your opponent is moving, u just need to hold his limb, he is tough? Well, just break his fingers, no one is safe against it

I took Aikido for a couple months to just get some basic movements down, and my instructor was actually really good. We DID do some sparring (not very structured, but it was fun and really helped with a bit of application that most Aikido instructors ignore). Also swords. The swords were awesome.
Yes swords are amazing. Infact I love using bladed weapons the most cuz they can deliver a quick lethal blow and end a fight quickly. And while I do love batons I just don't like them as much as I like blades

Well i think you need to think of aikido as a sidebar for main martial art. Because its actually useful when you mix it with punching martial art like krav maga
