That's a beautiful fish.
Thank you 🙂
Love the video mate! Great new tank set up
Thank you Baily! :)
That's a good way to jump start a new aquarium.
Thanks Michael!
You did a great job!
With those aquaclear filters you can adjust the flow, you move the nozzle on top side to side and that controls intake
Thank you! yeah I figured this out the next day and I turned the flow down, it's much better now :)
Awesome set up bro
Thanks so much Mika! :)
20gal can be an appropriate tank size, it just takes a lot more upkeep.
I've kept a black moor in a planted 20 gallon for close to 6 years with no issues. He's a perfectly happy fish
I’m planning on doing the same with multiple filters
Little late but I’m here 😎
Great video bro👌
Thank you! 🙂
I switched my Goldfish to this same kind of tank I got at Pet Supermarket and he started to be less active and his fins turned black. I had to switch him over back to his original tank and he has been thriving ever since. 3 years +. Your fish is super cute.
I wonder why his fins turned black, thats odd! Glad to hear he's doing well though :) and thanks! I've had my fish for around 1.5 years. He had a previous owner and I'm not sure how long they had him
Ik a lot of times gold fishes fins will turn black from like ammonia scarring, that’s how one of mine was when I first got him but once he was in his tank for a while they faded! It prolly was since the tank was new maybe some other chemical was off. Maybe if you let the new tank run with some real plants for a while it would balance out
Claire Rose Thank you for the tip! I will definitely do that.
They turn black because of ammonia levels.
I know I’m late but I just want to say that’s a really pretty looking goldfish
Thank you! 🙂
Just saw the video. I wanted to know how the shib. Goldfish is doing. I was thinking of doing the same thing. I was thinking of doing the same things just one shubunkin goldfish. I wanted to know how long you think I could keep him in a 20 gallon long?
The advice I typically give is to check your water parameters on a weekly basis and if you are having a hard time keeping your nitrates under 40ppm then it means you need a bigger tank. The goldfish I put in this 20 gallon is a fan tail goldfish (which I have out in my pond now), which in my experience grow slower than long bodied goldfish, such as shubunkins. I actually have a shubunkin out in my pool pond and that goldfish grew much faster than my common goldfish. I think shubunkins are probably bred to grow big, so I actually think a shubunkin would outgrow a 20 gallon pretty quick. Maybe starting out with a 30 gallon would be a bit better.
I have a 35 gallon tub I'm gonna make a pond.im gonna go simple with river rocks , some plants and duck weed . I have 4 Rosy reds and 2 goldfish . I actually kept my goldfish in a 5 gallon for 3 years , clueless about there size . One of them is now about 6 inches inside a 15 gallon storage bin. I'm gonna set up the pond sometime this week
Awesome those fish will do great in a pond!
I’ve never seen an aqua clear with that packaging in person. I always see people showing the filter with that packaging but every time I’m in any aquatics section at a store I see the new packaging.
It's just because Amazon sells it with the old packaging ^^ still the same old model of filter. No change.
i realize it is kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to stream new movies online ?
How long do I let the tank sit with chemicals before adding the fish and what chemicals do I use and how much
It all kinda depends. Most water conditioners work pretty much instantly, but when starting a new tank you mostly want to make sure that your filter is "cycled" so that when you add fish for they first time they don't die. There are different ways to cycle your tank and some ways take longer than others. I would recommend searching "how to cycle a fish tank" to get an idea of how you want to do it
Do you live in a bunker! ? Thank you for the starter bacteria details I'm starting a 20 Gallon Goldfish tank. I bought the bacteria starter so we will see how that goes.
So beutiefull
Thank you! :)
@@TobiasHolenstein you're welcom
What size tank is that?
Hey tobias hope your doing well loved the video 😊
Thanks Charlotte! I'm doing well thanks. Hope you are doing well too!
@@TobiasHolenstein I'm doing well thanks for asking 😊
Glad to hear that! :)
@@TobiasHolenstein thank you 😊
Your goldfish is so beautiful! How long have you had him/her?
Thank you! I've had this goldfish since Dec 2018, so about 2 years. I think it is a female, but I'm not 100% sure and she is living out in my pond now 🙂
Like 7! How are you Tobias? I have goldfish in a twenty gallon long too! The dressers are probably stronger anyway! The guppies look great! You can also take a little bit of water from each tank you already have and fill the rest up with new water and refill the other tanks with new water too! So you kill two birds with one stone as the old saying goes! Hope all is well with you my friend! Take care till next time, happy fish keeping and stay in touch! Animal Papa! 🐾👍🐠
Thank you for the like James! I'm doing good, thank you! How are you? Thanks for the comments and take care as well! I'll keep in touch! :)
Your very welcome Tobias! I'm good! Thank you for asking! Glad to hear your doing good too! Take care till next time! Animal Papa! 🐾
Glad you are doing well too! Thank you! Take care as well :)
Naww he’s so cute! I just got a Ranchu today (I’ve been looking for one for AGES) and he’s stolen my heart, he’s with a small fantail in an 18 gal planted tank that gets 25% water changes a week, is this okay? Obviously eventually I’ll be getting an upgrade, but for now is it alright?
Congratulations on your Ranchu! I think that should be fine for now, as long as you have good filtration, but as he grows you may want to get something a little bigger, at least 20-30 gallons, but I would say what you have is ok for now if he is still young and you have good filtration.
Tobias Holenstein thank you so much!! I just measured her (I found out she was a girl after checking lmao) and she’s 7 cm and the other fancy is 6 cm including tail :) I have a great 3-stage filter that pumps through about 145 gallons an hour. Tysm again!❤️
Every time I put a design on my tank it starts getting dirty idk how to prevent them keeping poopies inside the thing
Hi Richard, what kind of decoration is it? Just curious how it is getting dirty
@@TobiasHolenstein it’s just some plants and uh like a thing where they can hide but then they starts gathering all the poppies and I’m just tired taking them off just to take all the poopies and keep the water clean. But even though I clean 25% of water it still gets dirty
I’ve sat on many tables to see if they can hold fish tanks. You’re not alone
Nice haha. I feel like it's a somewhat good way of testing the strength
Lol same
fish be like: "thanks dude this is way better"....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good job with tank size I do recommend a tank for 1 fish about 20 gallons
Ummm I think Aquamigos is my new favorite word
Thank you, it is a pretty sweet word 😎
Is a 15 gallon tank too small for two comet goldfish?
Yeah I think that's too small. I think when it comes to keeping comet goldfish, they are best kept in ponds, but if you keep them in a tank I would say ideally, 30 gallons per comet goldfish
I'd normally keep em in a 15 gal until their about 2 inches long or so then I'd upgrade to a 30-40 tank
YES
Skål 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Cheers! 🍻🙂
Hey can a common goldfish live its entire life in a 20 gallon?
For common goldfish, it is recommended to have at least 30 gallons and excellent water conditions. The smaller the tank, the harder it will be to keep the water conditions good
@@TobiasHolenstein thanks i got 3 fire guppies instead
@@deadbythuglife6836 Awesome!
That much flow is necessary
I kind of felt like it was pushing the fish around
@@TobiasHolenstein okay , carry on with the hobby !! Good luck bud !!
I have the same filter I got it for 41 dollars and it was on sale I can’t believe it was on sale I wonder how much money if it is not on sale 🤑
Sorry just saw where it’s a 20 gallon. Looks like a 20 long?
Yes it's a 20 gallon long 😄
Hey can you please put the link for the tank
Yeah sure, this is the link www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/aqueon-standard-glass-aquarium-tank-20-gallon but I got it during the dollar per gallon sale in the physical store so it was only $20
@@TobiasHolenstein thank you so much I love the tank
@@Scrollk You're welcome! Yeah these 20 gallon longs are so cool! Check it out I actually rescapped the tank recently ua-cam.com/video/CxkeVCAICoA/v-deo.html
1 oranda goldfish and 1 black moor in 15 gallon tank?
I think that may actually be too small. I would probably recommend a 30 gallon tank
nononononoonononononononononoononono goldfish get big
I kept my friend in a Tank like this the Rent was only 120 bucks! Just kidding 😂 I do have a question is this Tank big enough size for big fish??
How much was the tank alone?
I got it during the dollar per gallon sale at Petco so it was $20
@@TobiasHolenstein oh okay, thanks and another question lol would this size be good or an Oranda goldfish?
For*
@@bethanyytheresa9341 I think it would be fine for just one oranda goldfish, with no other fish and as long as you have good filtration. A fancy goldfish like an oranda needs a minimum of 20 gallons to itself. Personally I would probably get a 30 gallon, because the bigger the tank, the easier maintenance will be. I'm hoping to only have my goldfish in this tank temporarily and then move it to my pond.
@@TobiasHolenstein thank you so much !
I have 2 goldfish in a 50 gallon and I use sand for substrate
Nice! That is a good sized tank and nice substrate choice. People have told me that I shouldn't use gravel because goldfish can choke on it so I use sand in my tanks now
@@TobiasHolenstein yeah I used to have gravel in the 15 gallon I used to keep them in and the one goldfish got a piece lodged in his mouth and I had to puncture the side of his mouth with a pin to get it out it was so far back :( he's okay now though all healed up and quite happy, he just loves eating everything in sight
Put a air stone in the because the water is so high the filter isn’t even making any bubbles and you should put a pleco and more natural color rock
It's funny, at one point I had an air stone in there and my fish was afraid of it. Wouldn't go anywhere near it
Tobias Holenstein that’s weird because my comet goldfish love it
@@TWilliams205 Yeah it was really weird
I’d get rid of that carbon bag and just put in a bunch of filter floss. I haven’t had a cycle crash or any bad bacteria bloom. I just replace the filter floss every month.
Thanks for the tip. I'll keep that in mind for the future. My goldfish is looking pretty good right now, so I'm probably gonna move him out to my pond sometime this week
Right on man!
Nice dude. And if your thinking to add more fish do your research first because goldfish are from cold water😂. And i know im late
Thanks! Yeah I wouldn't add more fish to that tank. I actually transferred that goldfish into my pond. I have some recent videos on my channel of my pool pond if you are interested :)
Oh ok sorry im new to your channel
@@aquacaring8064 No problem 🙂Thank you for watching!
Hi could 2 ranchu goldfish live in a 20 gal
I would probably say at least 30 or 40 gallons for 2 ranchus
@@TobiasHolenstein ok thank you
@@kacper6116 You're welcome!
1st of all, it's over filled. Tanks can blow up. I hope you know that.
2nd, the over-filled tank doesn't give the filters a chance to aerate the water because (again), water level is too high...no waterfall sound = less bubbles wich = a lot less oxygen in the water and fish and good bacteria need plenty of oxygen and water circulation of course.
At least add an air pump.
Yeah suppose to be under the black line

pt seems like alot of stuff show us a natural tank

move your aquariums from the window to avoid algae
True, I've kinda had a better handle on the algae lately, but that would definitely help
@@TobiasHolenstein Kk
This is great but maybe swap out you’re ornaments for more natural like wood and add a few real plants
Thank you for the suggestion :)
Aaaass
You need to clean your fish tanks
Gravel is a choking hazard for Goldfish, and 20 gallons is really too small for one. They're social, so you should ideally have 2 in a 40 gallon tank which is minimum for a pair.
You seem to be very knowledgeable about goldfish, what substrate do you recommend.. if any? Ive head off people using pea pebbles but I’m still learning ! :)
I didn't realize that about the gravel, but I guess it makes sense since sometimes goldfish like to suck the gravel into their mouths. I'm hoping to get this goldfish into my pond eventually
Stephanie ! Goldfish love to sift through substrate. Personally I use either play sand or pool filter sand because it’s much less expensive than specific aquarium sand and perfectly fine. A lot of hobbyist don’t use any substrate at all and just do a bare bottom tank. But, if you want substrate.. sand is best for goldies. I had a goldfish on gravel once when I was 10 with my first tank, and a piece got stuck in his mouth and it was terrible to get out. That was 18 years ago though, and we hardly had internet to do any research haha
Jessie Knickle i recently got a deal on a 56Gal tank & stand that came with gravel so I think I’m going to stick with gravel and keep a close eye on my goldie, luckily I only have one :)
20 gallon for two goldfish is fine
Hey...that’s a Shubunkin. That’s really meant for a pond...so be prepared
I'm pretty sure it's a fantail goldfish. I have a shubunkin in my pond and it looks way different. It has a long body
It's a shame the video has corrupted
Hi can you tell me what you mean? The video should be working
When I clicked on your video because it looked interesting, it was gliched sum how and I couldn't see anything but coloured blocks, it maybe my phone but I'm not sure
It's working now, must have been a mistake on my behalf, great video bud
Jesus what are you doing be nice to the fish they need to at least 200 litres and and about 20litres per one
20 litres per 1 fish!!! Are you mad....I have a rule every goldfish 20 gallons abt 120 litres
Jesus loves you john 3:16 but also hell is very real ✝️🙏❤️❗️
