Back in 2019, I took my Ford GT out to the United States and built the most amazing memories with it, a huge part of establishing its place as a permanent Shmeemobile. Since then, I've bought the Shelby GT500 and had it in the US for 2 years, taken over the AMG GT Black Series for a tour across 30 States, and even took out the Zenvo last summer for Monterey Car Week. However, with some exciting things on the horizon, it is time for the Ford GT to head back out and that means getting it ready to go.
Today we're transporting it up to MyCarImport to load it into a container that will be taking the car on the way 'across the pond' ready for the first plans at Circuit of the Americas with the GT1 Sports Club by Curbstone. This is just going to be the start as you can bet Monterey Car Week is going to be involved, but that is only the beginning of the fun ahead.
In order to load it up, the most important thing is to disconnect the battery given the time it will be at sea, and to do this is a process that involves removing the battery, which firstly requires the front-right wheel and arch liner to be taken off to get behind.

Hey Tim! Saw the 675LT at Salon Prive today and even in the midst of the hypercars was most starstruck by that. The first video I ever watched of yours was your first drive video in the 675LT spider and I just though it was the coolest thing. So to see it today, was kind of unreal. Never stop making videos
The container is so tight. Was the same with mine, unfortunately the wheels got damaged by the straps rubbing...nothing major, but still had to get them refurbed.
I like that you show ghe downsides and not just the fun stuff

Tim if there is now some sort of regulation that the battery needs to be removed from the vehicle for transport why not have someone fit a power bypass that can be accessed via the wheel arch that links to the terminals where the battery sits? You can then remove the cars battery before transport and just get a small battery which you can connect to the car via the wheel arch terminals and rest on the fan vents in the bonnet to prevent the paint getting scratched ( You could possibly even just use one of those small high power portable jump packs) giving enough power to load and unload it from transport.
That way you can drive it to where it has to go. Remove the headlight and primary battery. Connect the "transport" battery via the wheel arch disengage the park brake, put it in neutral, get it in the container and disconnect the transport battery once the park brake is re applied.
This is probably the second time the GT is in the USA this time was in 2019

Ford and Ferrari win the award for best sounding V6's. I don't know how they do it, but the Ford GT and the 296 GTS sound so amazing! Of course the new pipes on the GT probably help a bit. The Ford GT sounds so angry (cant wait to hear it at COTA), and the 296 is a banshee. I hate some of the JDM flatulent trombone sounds
The GT sounds so great, you just don’t expect that sound out of a V6. Ford’s engineering and aftermarket exhaust does the trick.
