I just love watching you teach and your funny “I’m not your mom” 😝
is this like your way of saying you want a dommy mommy?
"I'm not your mum" excellent!
How fantastic. I love your mini lessons. I am learning g (and practising heaps). Bite size chunks... awesome. Thanks, Simon, Australia
your videos are helping me a lot with my drumming, thanks!
I like to put the drag on the snare and then again on the 2nd tom (floor tom) and then to the 3rd tom.. Try it it's fun ! Then statr again on the 3rd tom and work back to the snare. then incorporate the hi hat (foot) and kick.
Seriously fun, sped up !
You explain drums so well. I might even try one day. 🐌
Just great! One of the best drum lesson of 2024🎉❤
Great again! Thanks Emma
Hey Emma, thanks for another great video! You mentioned drags being the 5th rudiment - what are the first four? Singles, doubles, paradiddles and something else?
I always say, Singles, Doubles, Paradiddles, and TRIPLETS. But Sounds Like Emma is saying the 4th is - FLAMS. 🥁😎
I stumbled on this channel, as for some reason it was suggested to me on one video or short, I forget which. But I have always had a love and a leaning to learn drums, this may be the persuassion. But mainly the presentation here is about as perfect as it could get, Im struggling to understand why you dont have a presenting job somewhere in mainstream media, as you are just so natrual, with expert teaching and comic value added in. Keep up the good work
Emma! I’ve been drumming for 2 weeks now. Just discovered your videos and was listening to your grip and meditation ones and you just uploaded another!
Which Roland v-drums do you use? My td-02k have been a bit sucky 😢
Looks like a TD30 module.
The TD02K pads are a little hard although not as bad as the old 1980s Simmons pads I used to play (like playing on your kitchen work surface). If you're minded to change or upgrade, I very much recommend any of the new mesh-headed pads - they're really the closest I've ever got to playing a "real" drum. I have a TD27KV2 with a few extras. They're quite lovely and still pack away nice and small for when you're "on the road".
@@NigelMarston Thanks for the advice. I just bought mine 2 days before I started playing. I always wanted to play drums as a kid. Now at 36 I couldn’t walk away from one when I saw it at my local Costco. Did a super quick check to see if it wasn’t too bad before buying.
The snare is as big as my palm and my drumsticks often hit each other when I’m practising doubles or paradiddles.
Maybe too early for me to switch to the 27 one 😞 I only play it as a hobby but it’s really improving my left hand control.
Just discovered you and love your videos!
This one helped tons when trying to figure out what I was hearing during the verse of “Pepper” by the Butthole surfers. In the middle of the groove, they end-begin a bar with a 2 on the snare and down for one on the kick to begin anew.
A month ago, I wouldn’t have been able to pick this out with my ear. You are truly a gem, Emma. Thank you. 🤘🤘🤘
belter lesson kiddo you know your drags I have been playing this fir years didn't know what it was called . then again don't know what enthing else is called ether so I have learnt something thank you
Some would say this episode was a "Drag" But I would never say that. Kidding aside that's the first warm up rudiment I use on the pad. Simple , under rated , catchy . I love it. Well done Thank you.
Fags n Drags, are cigarettes n drum rudiments just to be clear... 👍🏻 we want No Confusion here. 😉
Getting on the practice pad now
Cool as. Thanks 👌
Your very fun !
You’re fun!
Are you in a music project? Where can I listen to your work?
Look up Ilona Mahieu. Emma is the drummer. They have some cool music videos out there too.😊
It's really very useful! With love from Russia
😂 I rarely name any of these things, they're just naturally in my repertoire.
Please do double stroke lesson and buzz lesson next. 🙏
❤
Uh oh, Tommy Igoe might try to fight you
Don’t play drums but my knowledge on the matter is correct.
