I started playing drums when I was 12 years old , I just turned 57 and I'm learning some amazing new tricks from this person! Great job! I love the way you explain the different methods! thanks, keep up the good work!
Omg this is so cool! Im a triplet fanatic and this is my first venture out of 4/4 territory. Thank you so much for this video; looking forward to more❤
Emma, I just came across this video. I'm an old guy taking up drums again after many many years away. Your lessons are so well presented and they've helped me a lot. This one looked intimidating at first but after watching a couple of times and practicing I'm starting to get comfortable with the grooves, particularly #2 & #3. Thanks for the lessons you're providing.
Great stuff@ My favourite time signature. If you want to hear some very interesting phrasing in 12/8 in a DnB context check out Third Stream by 4Hero. Amazing drumming.
Nice use of the voice on the old metro. I used the voice yelling at me to learn the purdie shuffle. It took me a month to learn it 😆 but I find drums really challenging and I have only been playing since august. Believe me, i did a happy dance when it clicked... 😅
What drums are you using? They look really responsive for an electric drumkit and sound amazing! Also loved the lesson, 12/8 is lit. I always use your videos when I'm tired or frustrated at something my teacher makes practise to keep drumming fun :)
UA-cam suggested this vid, but it's not really interesting to me. Then I noticed a musical instrument in the corner of the frame, and I liked it slightly more.

That's amazing, thank you! I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two 😊
I think you're the clearest drum teacher I've ever heard, and importantly you make even quite complex stuff seem achievable. It's a real gift.

Thanks for these lessons! They’re really challenging me and I love that.
I'm happy to hear it 😊 Thanks for watching!
I've used this groove for years. It's a great groove, very tasty, and you can perm-mutate it endlessly!
the delivery of this video is brilliant! super quirky and fun. aweome drumming of course as well
The way you teach is just perfect! 😊
Thank you!
absolutely love the way you explain things. thanks so much
This makes me want to set up my kit again and dive back into learning! Cheers!
Beat 1: the start of Yes' "Hold On." 😊 #1 & 2 are so well demonstrated in that song.
'Snazzy as hell' has rapidly been integrated into my casual discourse
Slowly taking over 😈
Nice break down on the instruction there! More instructors should break it down that interestingly and explicit! I like this drummer..
Really like that 3rd one. Great!
Thank you for watching 😊
That intro fill in 4:23/4:24! I was melting right away.... :D
As a guitar player my heaven must be to play in a group where this drummer is our drummer.
Many thanks for this video! Loved the last groove, really cool!
Tasty little grooves, thanks for these little nuggets to play with. Merry Christmas!

Its the base groove for Hold the Line from Toto and the great late Jeff Porcaro
You do an amazing job at teaching drumming!
Thank you very much 😊
Your channel is going to explode! Just subbed!! Keep going your lessons are awesome!!
Ooohh! You are the best! I understand this, finally!
Your lessons are fantastic!!
12/8 is basically 4/4 in triplets. While 6/4 is three doublets of crotchets.
Miss you are amazing ..love our cousins in the UK
Really great teacher. It is very helpful

Amazing lesson, thnx
Thank you..❤️✌️
Thanks
Very clear
Grove 1 really feels like it wants to "rule the world"... Great vid , thank you.
The second sounds like Freeway Jam (Jeff Beck) without the open hh.
I swear I thought she was playing with magic wands. Cool sticks. Cool grooves.
In the teaser pic, you look a bit like Pau, the drummer of The Warning. She also slays.
Awesome!
❤️
greaaaat! thanks!
Alexander the great from Iron Maiden has a part with 12/8
Is Hold The Line (Toto) in 12/8, or 4/4 with triplets?
What metronome are you using?
What’s that metronome that you’re using?

Looks Like a Roland..😁🎸🌲
Td 27 kv
By Roland
Not positive but looks same as mine
Thats my next Drum Kit TD-27 Rolands are nice.Expensive. on my 2nd I had 17-KVX had to sell it.I have TD-07.
😁🌲
Thank you! I'm glad my videos help you 😊 I'm using a Roland TD30
If you take the toms out of the second groove you have the best of Jeff Beck's , "freeway jam"
What is that metronome ?
The Math in me wants to think of that as 3/2 time, either way, it's awesome.
El segundo groove es basicamente una chacarera argentina!
I love 12/8 (and voted accordingly) but it'll take a little time to nail number 3.
At 3.00 minutes you basically have the groove for Tears for Fears, "Everybody wants to rule the world", slightly faster tempo, naturally
❤️
❤
❤❤❤
Freeway Jam, Jeff Beck.
I just think of everything that is divisible by 4 as 4/4. The rest is just flavoring.
I thought playing in 12/8 would be very hard, turns out I've actually played it before.
What a great site....tasty!
Comprehensive guide to playing Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson lol
I always counted it in 6 but 12 is better. The 2 nd beat sounds like a Jeff Beck groove
its clearly 4/4 in triplets 😉
no 12/8 video would be complete without the Purdie Shuffle
Everybody wants to rule thje world from tears for fears is in 12/8
UA-cam suggested this vid, but it's not really interesting to me. Then I noticed a musical instrument in the corner of the frame, and I liked it slightly more.
get real cymbals
