It took me a year to design my personal tartan. Some of that time was walking away from it and coming back later with fresh eyes. I started by choosing a few colors that meant something to me. I didn't include any meaningful numbers becausecthat would lock me into crrtain stripe sizes that may notvwork with the overall look. I came up with a few preliminary designs to try some different stripe arrangements. I narrowed down to a couple of variations that were ok but didn't thrill me. I put the ideas up on the Kilts and Culture FB group to see where others leaned on the variations. I got some suggested adjustments to the design which pushed me through the creative wall I was at. With a little tweaking of line widths I had a design that pleased me.
I started trying to design a tartan on your page and it just looks weird. Designing it the way it allows you to isn’t what I thought it was. I can’t put the colors in lines the way I want it to be. It just puts the colors where it wants to put them. Or am I missing something lol.
