Hi @THeFastMsn - that is correct. Enter your desired bank card into AliPay and you will have a 2000RMB allowance before needing to top-up again.

I'm from US, planning to go to China. They say we need to use wechat and alipay for QR health code. Do you have video for this ?

We don't have a video for this yet I'm afraid Andi. We will look at doing one perhaps soon. Most of this is explained when you arrive but the main thing we'd advise is having Alipay and WeChat installed and ready to go, with perhaps a bank card linked.

You can only top up inside the Tourpass mini-app itself. If you cannot do this I'd contact Alipay support or your bank in case they blocked it.
Hi Max, thank you for the helpful video. Some questions re linking card:
1. Does your bank credit card (say MasterCard) consider AliPay top-up as cash advance and therefore charge interest right away?
2. Instead would you consider link bank debit card or would you be concern about security since with credit card, better chance of the card issue to stop payment if there is problem, etc.? And have or anyone linked it with debit card?
1 - I'm afraid I don't know :(
2 - It's a perfectly safe app. It's one of the biggest in China and is incredibly secure. Try with your debit card and see how it goes. There is a fair chance it won't work
Hello, I need to know how can I transfer the money from my foreign account to Alipay directly here in China?
Yes you can using the Tourpass feature. We explain how in the video. You are capped on how much you can transfer though.
I have added my creditcard in Alipay. Can I directly use my creditcard to pay while scanning QR codes? Or is it absolutely necessary to setup a TourPass and topup credits in a prepaid card first?
I believe that you have to use TourPass credits as the number of credit cards or banks accepted is quite limited. Hope this helps, we have a new updated video for Alipay and TourPass coming up in a day, don't miss it.

Question: can i link my mom's bank card in my alipay instead of mine? I have a bank card but it says they don't support my bank, so i was hoping if its okay.... my alipay account is verified already its just that I couldn't link a bank card. Same goes with Wechat pay....
I think you can do this no problem, as long as the bank is accepted, it shouldn't matter whose name is on the account.

You can log into Wechat on your computer/laptop and get them to send it to your Wechat
Thanks for your reply. My point is simply how to I scan the QR code sent to me by a merchant remotely. I am based in Hong Kong and have to pay the merchant in Guangzhou. I received the merchant's Alipay QR code on Wechat messaging app and have to pay him and prefer using Alipay HK. Should I for example scan the merchant's QR code received on the Wechat app and save it. As I use Android the image would be saved to Gallery. Then perhaps I can use the scan function on Alipay HK app and scan the image of the QR code code stored in Gallery and then proceed to complete the transaction as if the merchant and I were physically present . I wonder if there is a shortcut on the Alipay app i can use to achieve the purpose of paying a merchant remotely using the QR code provided to me. Thanks very much.

Hi Vivian, you should be able to use a password or PIN number as an alternative. If your face isn't working maybe it's best to try this.

It will probably depend on the card. We've managed to link cards from Europe before (Visa mainly).

Hi there :) - you'll need to withdraw the funds from your Alipay account first. You cannot pay directly from Paypal with Alipay
What if your buying from a company via Alipay and they never send your product can your dispute on Alipay?

Hi! When we use the various mini apps in alipay such as air & rail, will alipay deduct the amount from our tour pass for the purchase of the rail tickets or will it instead deduct straight from the bank card that we have bind in the app?
Anytime you make a payment you should have to select where it comes from, normally when your QR code shows for example, you will see the account details below, and by clicking this you can change it. The same should be for Air/Rail etc

To unfreeze your account the best solution is to contact Alipay support using the contact feature in the app （联系）

You need to link your South African bank card to your Alipay and then top up your TourPass Taahira. You can only do 2,000CNY, but that's the easiest way to use money in China from your local bank card.

You need a bank account to top up, Alipay must be linked to a bank account itself.

Yes it can be used in China if refunded to your Alipay. When you pay via Alipay using the QR code you can set whether you use balance or bank.

Hi Sarah, I believe if the funds have not been spent they will be refunded to your card after a certain time period which can vary from 30-90 days. This does change though so take it with a pinch of salt. Hope it helps

If you don't have a Chinese bank account you can put the funds into, the best thing to do would be to find a friend or Chinese business willing to accept an AliPay payment for cash.

Hi Mico, there is no method to link PayPal to Alipay I'm afraid. It depends which methods of payment Playstation allows for. If they allow Alipay, then you can pay direct from your Alipay account without PayPal. If they do not allow Alipay then this will not be possible I'm afraid.

I'd drop an email or phone call to Playstation Support myself and ask how to link up your PayPal account. Whilst you are there you should ask if you can directly connect an Alipay account. I imagine this can change depending on where you are.
