Such a great spoof band and I read somewhere that the actual Beatles liked them as well and “endorsed” them (probably means they didn’t sue them 😳) - thanks for the comment and for watching 😁❤️🇺🇸
Streets Of Fire's Ellen Aim & The Attackers had two great songs which bookend the movie nicely. Perhaps a bit heavy the 80's drum machines, but the singer sounded great.
I cant say I have ever seen Streets of Fire but I added it to my Plex watchlist - another viewer suggested The Sorels from the same movie - I have added videos for both fictional bands to our "Fictional Bands" channel playlist! Thanks for sharing and turning us on to new things to watch AND listen to! Be sure and Subscribe to the channel if you are not already - more fun thought provoking musical discussions on the way!
Spinal Tap has gone out on tour. I wish I had the chance to see them. They even did one with the Folksmen as the opening act. I saw them on VH1 years after the movie with Mick Fleetwood drumming (and he survived). I would say that no list of fictional bands is complete without The Dregs of Humanity. Also, Otis Day and the Knights, who sort of became real later on, after their movie appearance.
Otis Day and the Knight’s!! Now that’s a good one - after we made this I got to thinking that I saw a Spinal Tap tribute which featured Metallica members- found it on UA-cam here:ua-cam.com/video/iN42uzNFVmQ/v-deo.htmlsi=8K1HH1YYQPyqWIfW I added it to the public playlist as well!! Thanks for sharing and tuning in 😁🤟🏻❤️🇺🇸

Thanks for pointing out the Zits 😳 - I added them to the public playlist for this video- totally did not think of them - I was never a big Office fan - spent TOO MUCH time in the reality of that 😁 - thanks for sharing and tuning in ❤️🤟🏻🇺🇸
Thanks! I have never seen the movie but it looks great - looks like The Heartbeats got beat out by Flash and the Ebony Sparks at the battle of the bands competition- I will add it to my watchlist and be sure to include more R&B focused groups in our future videos- appreciate the feedback!! Todd-
Agreed Fred. Robert Townsend was part of that. He was also in one of my favorite movies The Meteor Man, which had many 'Real' music acts in acting roles...
@@toddsflorida ahh good one!! I also thought of another one after we produced this - the band Vesuvius from the movie The Rocker which is a very underrated movie IMO it’s also super funny 😁- thanks for the comment!
That Eddie and the Cruisers sound, which was actually John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, was big at the time, kind of sound alikes to Springsteen, John Cougar and others
Strange Fruit from the movie Still Crazy. The songs are written by Chris Difford, Russ Ballard, Mick Jones and Marti Fredricksen - ua-cam.com/video/awNpo03WDgA/v-deo.html
Eddie & the Cruisers,The Sorels,Otis Day & the Nights
Good find on the Sorels!! I am adding them to our "Fictional Bands" playlist - thanks for sharing and come back soon!
I've seen Spinal Tap live.
Totally cool - were they an opening act??
The Rutles
I saw the Rutles play about a year before Neil Innes passed away.

@@MrC-o5y Yes Sparkle Pony - that’s a blast from the past! Thanks for sharing! 😁❤️🇺🇸
actually saw the Commitments in concert. didn't feature all the folks from the movie but well represented
Nice, Seems like it would have been a great show. Were any of the folks from the movie make it into that band?
What about Cassandras band in Waynes World or the Wyld Stallions
Nice callout. I would have been a groupie for that band!
the vocals in Steel Dragon were actually done by Miles Kennedy from Alterbridge fame
I like Alterbridge and Miles ua-cam.com/video/apYh9hO0W4g/v-deo.htmlsi=rnnb-sayn60NaDnx - thanks for sharing 😁❤️👍🇺🇸
Jeff Scott Soto did the vocals. Mr. Kennedy played Steel Dragon fan Thor.who made an appearance at the end of the movie.
No mention of Kevin and the Zits?
Actually -- for anyone with kids out there -- my son also for years thought the Fresh Beat Band was real

Thanks for tuning in Eric. Blue Brothers ruled!
Glad you enjoyed it!😁❤️🇺🇸
