very well done video. I am strickly a collector of vinyl and cds but do have a few new friends that are vendors at the beatles fest. Everything you said is true. My friends have educated me on getting to shows early. Its truly a great community of vinyl lovers for the most part. Again well done.
Thank you very much - it was a fun video to do and it is a topic I have been wanting to cover for a while now! Keep hitting those shows early- bring cash and build your collection with choice stuff and maybe we will cross paths someday 😉 - Happy Holidays 👍
New subscriber here. Some nice choices there. I’m quite a bit older than you so not much into metal. However I did get to see Jimi Hendrix twice. Thanks for sharing.
Well I am closing in on 60 and grew up on hard rock, rock and roll, and (yes) country - as a kid I played drums in a country rock band with my dad for 3 years before I joined the Navy. I always liked the harder edged 70s rock and for some reason when I heard Iron Maiden and the like I was drawn to it - not my daily driver but I dig in now and again!! Thanks for the sub - Larry is older than me and we have some good stuff lined up in 2025 with the rebranding of the channel- if there is anything you would like to see or have us dig into let us know!! Todd-
80's metal and the Stones, you got my sub! I just posted an 80's metal vid I did with my son. Big points for RIOT!!! Cal Tjader and the Ventures in Space in the background, fellow surf/exotica fan I assume!
Yes!! I have a very eclectic and varied collection- this way I can play anything that fits my complex mood 😉 - I will sub to your channel - anyone who is a fan of Riot is a friend of mine!! 😁👍
Absolutely a blast hanging out with ya’ll on RSD! Thanks for having me!
It was OUR pleasure Louis V - you are a great “guest host” 😁👍
Love this! You speak the truth.
Thanks man - I actually ended up cutting some stuff out I went on a little rant 😁🙄 - thanks for watching!!
Hey - hope you enjoyed the chicken.
@@matthewpape9889 lol - I did Royal Farms chicken tenders are AWESOME 👏- thanks for watching hope we meet again soon!! 😁👍
Great video! Thanks for calling out that there’s people in this game selling records and know nothing about it. I really hope this trend stops. We need more people like you, a passionate seller AND collector.
@@VinylLatte thank you Louis V - I just felt the need to tell this story - I did have to cut a 5 minute rant out of this video- a story I will share with you offline- truly THE UGLY 😳 - look forward to chatting again soon! 👍😁
Talked with you awhile back at one of the shows and you definitely have a passion for this. Record shows are great with so much variety. I tend to always pick up at least one band I had never heard of just to check them out. BTW Love the channel
@@dennisgorder2214 thanks Dennis!! This is a great hobby and I mean it when I say I have the MOST fun talking to you all!! Thanks for watching the channel!!
Wild - I did not know that some of the vendors don’t listen to vinyl????
Well I wish that was the worst thing I have experienced but it doesn’t make sense to me 🙄 - thanks for your comment and for watching 👍
What about Chilliwack those guys are awesome
Wow!! Out of all the comments and the in-person discussions that we have had since we posted this video NO ONE has brought up Chiliwack - you really went deep - I love the out of the box thinking- thank you for watching and the great comment!!😊👍
This is so true!!
I completely agree with you about Cal Tjader. I enjoyed your video. Take care. ♥️🤗
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - It's great to be able to share my passion - I love your channel and your most excellent carefully curated collection 😁❤️👍
Eddie Van Halen was not taught by Satch. Satch taught Steve Vai. Eddie was self taught. Anyway, nice tag. Glad to see Satch get some love! Cheers☘️
Thank you for correcting me - I got my guitar gods mixed up 😳 - others have commented on this as well- Satch is amazing and my FAVORITE of my guitar idols!! 😁👍
I have the Mofi Supertramp as well and it sounds fantastic. Midnight Oil doesn’t get enough love. Thank you for making a video.
@@PrettyGreenVinylGuy hey it’s the Pretty Green Vinyl guy!!! Thank you for creating a great list this go around- that Supertramp MOFI is one of my favorites and is the first audiophile LP i ever bought - I enjoyed your picks as well - thanks for keeping the dream alive! 🙌👍
Great video! So many cool choices. Supertramp so good. Love Skynyrd! Aerosmith! And that Riot album is killer!!! Cheers
@@7BobbyGaylor7 thank you Bobby!!- it sounds like we have similar tastes 😉 - I also like Riots album Restless Breed - it was my introduction to the band - thanks for checking out my tags 😁👍
@@graybeardsnation That is a good Riot album. I've actually been enjoying the last few albums from the reformed Riot V, the singer is killer!
@@7BobbyGaylor7 I have that one as well- I just picked up a new (I rarely buy new records) Archives volume 3 1987-1988 - really well done comp - maybe I will do my next episode of “Records I Can’t Listen To When My Wife Is Home” on Riot 😁 - my first episode is on Type O Negative - here if you’re interested: ua-cam.com/video/37N6K8T1G00/v-deo.htmlsi=9HnHhzQfsHrPruwT - if you have ideas for the Riot episode - let me know I will write them into the script and give you a shout out - that and a dollar will get you… 😂
@ 😹😹😹
Love the BB King Live in France. Sonically awesome and performance by BB was amazing! Hope they release more!
We do too - like Larry always says ( and I mean always) - BB King never put out a bad live performance- thanks for sharing 😁👍
It was great to meet you at the Washington Record Show today! This was a great video, now I have my video topic for tomorrow 🤙🤘👍
Back at you Mitch! We look forward to being vinyl community and music loving partner 😳 - I will be on the lookout for your #vinytag2025 episode. Let’s keep in touch 👍🇺🇸
No tragically hip is crazy
@@bingbongvo7287 we had Larry guess the band using clips towards the end of the video and we featured The Tragically Hip - he guessed it (almost didn’t)
Great picks!! 🙌
Thanks had to tear up the place to find everything 😳
😂😂😂
Great lyrics choice RUSH!. Nice picks. And I agree, 'Defund the Police' was a dumb name, but the idea of rearranging the funds to more community programs to prevent crime was a great idea....as cops only show up after a crime is committed. That debut Tesla record is perfect though. Again, great video...what drummer wouldn't want to play like Neil. He is for sure missed.
So many great lyric passages from Rush - wanted to do The Garden but I don’t have the vinyl (CD only) - your right we need to rearrange a lot of funds right now - our government(s) is wasting money - I think we have an administration in there now that will trim that fat! Thank you for the great words and for watching 👍😁🇺🇸
@graybeardsnation only time will tell... Iceland of all countries has great elections ( equal time for all candidates- no $$ corporate intrusions) and leaders. They got as much greed out of government as one nation could realistically hope for. We can learn a lot from other nations. Rush - Neil is in a league of their own for lyrics. Pink Floyd also comes a close second...
I need to get that Judas Priest live album. Dio was also in Elf and Rainbow.
Yes he was! I should have mentioned them as well but I wanted to keep the video brief- I think I talked to fast because when I watched it back I couldn’t even understand what I said a few times 😳😁 - I picked that album up at a record show in North Carolina some years back - I had it on CD in the mid-90’s and it was lost in a theft - it’s just a great recording no matter what format- thanks for sharing and watching!
I agree.. not sure how that Priest record has never made it into my collection...
@ tough one to find in decent shape 🙄
FYI Joe Satriani taught Steve Vai. EVH was self taught...anyway great vid
You are absolutely right - I got my my awesome guitar gods mixed up!! Thank you for liking the vid and for keeping me straight 😁👍
Mazzy is a soy beta cuck

Wait just a damn minute, this sounds amazing!!!!😮
@@susanegley4149 I truly agree - I hope I didn’t sound like it wasn’t awesome I love this release this year and it’s been my ‘daily driver’ for the past week 😀
Oh no! Tangerine Dream is a flop?! I was excited for that one 😢
It’s not necessary a flop - it’s just not what I expected- I have listened to it a few times now and it’s good environmental music but in this day and age I could generate those selections using AI in seconds and would probably get more out of it- it’s a little bit of a cash grab IMO
Did anyone buy that Van Halen live?
Larry did he said it is excellent- he will do a quick review in an upcoming video- thanks for watching!!
Great Vinyl Picks 🎶 🎵
Thanks!
wow what a great a line up to see live lucky man . I have a few records that I have to play only when I am home alone also.
Yeah - I have to find music that we BOTH can agree on when she is around- but when she heads out, the cat and I rock out!! I would be interested in knowing what kinds of records you can’t listen to when you are home alone please share if you are interested- thanks for watching and sharing 😁👍
Great picks! 🙌
Nice picks! 😉👍
So stoked to hang with you guys! This RSD:BF is going to be 🔥
We are looking forward to it as well - first live stream and we are hoping for the BEST! The best part is that we will be doing this as a community!

Fun topic! I’ll add the opening to Killing in the Name. See ya on Friday!
Most good intros get your head bobbing right away - Killing in the Name is one of those!! See you Friday!! 😀
Great video and topic. Love the shout out!
@@erics439 Great idea Eric - we will start developing more shows based on loyal viewers like you when we reboot the channel 😉😁🇺🇸
A disappointing offering for sure .. nothing knocking my socks off …. FYI .. brother Phil Alvin was the lead singer for the Blasters .. brother Dave on guitar … Dave has has a phenomenal solo career
Looks like the RSD team has not made any new adds either 🤨 - oh well- we are hoping that the actual RSD in 2025 is better! Thanks for Blasters facts - Larry will add this to his database of music super knowledge 😁👍
Thanks for inviting me onto the program. I had a lot of fun!
Great to have you Louis!! 😁👍
I don’t really take RSD Black Friday as seriously as the Spring (the real) RSD - in spite of this I think this RSD event is weak 😢 - I will be getting that Hendrix release though 😊
Totally understand pug master!
Love it, every October I play only Type O!
Right on!! I knew I would find someone who was with me on this 😁👍 - thanks for sharing and watching !!!
Thumbs up for driving a manual 👍
Millennial theft control device 😂- that's my little 2008 Subaru STI - I could not imagine driving a Subby w/o a standard transmission! Thanks for watching - more fun stuff on the way
Ah yes… music we can’t listen to when the misses is around. Can we add Rob Zombie to the list?
Yes we can - no Rob Zombie albums OR movies allowed 😮😊
@@graybeardsnation 😂
Thank you Honey for not playing Type O Negative when I am Home . Love ya Lots 😘 P.S. I do like Cinnamon Girl Girl
Well to be fair - I can’t manage listening to Jewel we work together!!
Wife will not let me listen to any hair metal in her presence 😢
lol - I feel you- you need to schedule a vacation… for ONE ☝️ 😁
Such a fun episode! If you ever open your dream record store, I’ll need to rent space next door for my bookstore!
@@LisaFaris-rz4ml thanks Lisa!! Be careful what you wish for 😉
Thanks Lisa! Maybe one store selling music, books, and wine!!!!
I’ll toss in the 90s English rock band from Liverpool The La’s and Black Merda released in 1970. Cool topic guys. 🙌🏽✌🏽
Hey! Welcome to the channel- We are honored to have you as a subscriber! thanks for sharing your picks - keeps an eye out for more fun content 😁
1st Aerosmith
This was kind of covered, but I think organization is important. I do kind of like the thrill of going through unsorted boxes not knowing what you're going to find, but it is nice having an efficient way to find what you're looking for if you're looking for something specific. What would be nice is if they had a digital catalog of all their records that you can search. When the store gets a record in, they can add it to the database and store it away in the back if needed.
@@toddsflorida YES almost like a card catalog at the library- that is a great idea! Thanks for watching and for your input S.M. ❤️😁👍
Great comment! Some record stores already do that. Would be smart if more of them did!
How about a service where you bring in your records and they clean them for you 😊 - good topic btw - thanks for sharing!
I would love this service! Thanks for your comment and for watching!😀
Nice idea. Phil's store in Wilson NC does that I believe!
Fun episode! One to add to the list is adding Goldmine grading on used records-and actually follow the grade. It would save buyers so much time and build trust with them.
Your right Louis V - not many stores use Goldmine grading - I only personally know one store that does it loyally and that’s The Music Exchange in Tampa 😁 - that’s for your comment- will catch up with you soon!
Also the Jeff Healy Band especially for someone who likes Stevie Ray Vaughan he was a fan of Jeff’s and they did a great version of Little Sister together
Yeah Blue Rodeo is a great band and a great bunch of guys who are great musicians. My brother came home with 2112 and I loved it and my brother told me to leave it alone and I didn’t listen and I got a beating for that haha. I had to shovel a lot of driveways to make money to buy another album 2112 because I played it a thousand times and I wore out the album cover haha. Ive seen Rush in concert many times, first time at Maple Leaf Gardens. Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Big Wreck, Big Sugar, Triumph, The Band, April Wine, Rush, Gordon Lightfoot, The Guess Who, Sarah McLauchlan, Shania Twain, Bare Naked Ladies, BTOed the singer you were talking about is the bass player Fred Turner. Tragically Hip are a great band, I think it’s a band that you need to listen to to get a better understanding of their music. Max Webster, kim Mitchell, Saga, Streetheart, Chilliwack, Doug and the Slugs, Goddo, There’s a whole lot more great Canadian bands but that’s some off the top of me head.
Here are my Favorite s: Neil Diamond Greatest Hits - whole album! Van Morrison -Brown Eyed Girl Zac Brown- Toes, Knee Deep, Chicken Fried The Outfield- Your Love Eagles- Hotel California Four Non Blondes- What's Up B52's- Love Shack Cher- Heart of Stone, Jesse James James Taylor- Fire and Rain Jimmy Buffet- son of a Sailor, Pirate Looks at Forty, Come Monday, Margaritaville
Great tunes to drive by!! I will add these to the channel road trip playlist- you’re the best for watching and providing your inputs and supporting the channel!! 😁😊
