I am writing it again because I have seen more than 100 after effects channel but I never saw this type of tutorial. the way you taught and explain each and every tool patiently. I'm very thankful to youtube for suggesting your channel.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost my login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
Doing it in AE CS version requires exporting the movie sequence to a PNG or a series of PNG depending on what you want to do. Importing that photo into Photoshop. Then use the Magnetic Lasso, follow that up with the Bezier Lasso. The Magic Eraser with tolerance adjustment is another good way to delete a background. I would have to do that for each layer if I want to save the layers for paralax. I would then save the files with all layers as a PSD. Import the PSD with all layers to AE to continue the VFX. The old way takes time and is a lot of work but it beats digging ditches. The Roto version 2 is faster.
Oh... I really would not do this in an version of AE without the roto brush tool... in fact I find myself using this more often in cases where I notmally tend to use a greenscreen...
Cool tutorial Flo! To mention that rotoscoping hair is an area that AI and machine learning have not been very successful at yet. Many of the companies that specialize in roto for Hollywood films use the application Silhouette and at times use tracked open splines to have precise control over individual hairs. It's a lot of work!
Hi, Thank you for the tutorials. You explain things very clearly. I have a small question. I got a static shot about 1 minute long, I add something on the background, but need to roto a group of people and cars. What would be your advice on this scenario? I've tried to roto those front objects, but then the AE became very slowly, and then stoped working. PS. I'm new to AE. Thanks a lot.
Thank you so much!! Well, I would try to do it with the roto brush tool! Or you could try out a difference key, if you have a clean plate, meaning a shot with only the background and no one moving in front
Good day sir, I love your toturial. Am using blender, after effects and premier pro. I want to become a real VFX artist. How to master compositing my real character and CGI object or subject. How can I get good toturial to build me up.
Nice tutorial!!! When u have a badhairday it looks better then my badhairday. Maybe cuz I don't even have any hair anymore. Thank u for the video. When u create the tutorials do u use a storyboard? Do you consciously adjust the camara movement in order to get an optimal transition?
Hey Chris!! Yes I do storyboards for all shoots as well as animations... really simple and basic ones! And this is also why (for most of the time) when shooting I know exactly where I want to have my camera, which lens and so on!
@@flo.motion oh, can u make a tutorial about that? It would be really interesting, because all the tutorials don't help, if u don't have the right material. I often want to recreate or take over ur stuff an it doesn't fit. Thank u for the answer.
Hey..I love your videos , specially the extra stuff about basics which people skip since they're used to it but viewers dont know ..Can you make some long tutorials about softwares and plugins and various sections - like 1 video about MochaPro with everything in it (then make a playlist and add your related videos to it)...Element3d..Various Things within AE like "Add" option below shapes which has offset, trimpaths, etc ...OR Sound design - this would make for easy series of videos plus probable sponsorships for you hopefully ...ALSO Do you have twitter/discord to contact you easier ?
@@flo.motion sorry if it seemed like a demand ...ik its a lot but maybe i might have framed the sentences weirdly lol...i was talking about basics of the most famous plugins/extensions ...because otherwise tutorials become very specific that someone may barely use...Like doing a long tutorial about Mocha Pro then adding all the other you make related to mocha pro in the playilist like object removal/replacement or age effect etc

Great tutorial. Have you any tips on rotoing longer hair in wind?
Well you can try the roto brush! Or use greenscreen? If you need to roto it, you could try out a software called silhouette fom boris FX.
Your tutorial in this video covered a lot of aspects for a beginner like myself to improve in the workflow in general. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the nice works!!

Very nice thanks for the tutorial however when we roto out at the subject. How we select which one subject or background need to remove. Thank you
