My fondest field day was when i was a member of w1aq. We're in ax field next to some blacktop we had ladders set with guy lines. I'm in the mess tent eating a burger. It's raining, windy. I can see the bottom of the ladders dancing in the wind. Wolfed down the burger and went to the operating tent and told the guys. Picture it no rain gear and we're all out there securing the ladders.
It is interesting that I came across this video. My dad just passed away a few weeks ago at 90 years young. He was a ham since the 1960's I believe. His call sign was W4VSW out of Atlanta, Ga. He loved his ham radio buddies!
Thanks for sharing field day with us again, Larry. Whenever I miss field day, I can always count on your videos to fill that void. Keep up the good work.
Very nice.. great editing with quick segments to meet the folks that attended and see some events.. Enjoyed watching the video.. I even heard about HB9DST getting his Iowa SOTA activation at Pilot Knob with the help of Mike and Jean.. I've seen Mike and Jean postings on POTA also.. Very nice to see everyone there.. Looks like a great club and members.. Thanks for sharing.. 73, Kevin ~ k0klb - Iowa
Hey you Folks, that looks pretty awsome. A big hello to the Newbies and congrats for Licence Up. Southwest Germany is waving a Hand into the Viking State 💯🙋♂️ 73 de your Friend Uncle Guenter 🍻
It worked fine but on FD bands are crowded so hard sometimes then. However I use low power in the back yard sometimes for fun using a Wolf River Coils antenna like you see in the video and make a lot of contacts, it is a lot of fun as it is more of a challenge!
Looks like you had a great time this year again Larry! I'm happy to see you may have some more new hams for next year. Here's our field day event our radio club had this year. We operated 2A. ua-cam.com/video/oc37krb-dns/v-deo.html

How did your QRP station work? I've thought about setting one up at our Field Day here in Utah.
