    Thank you for this video. Made my first 1 beet, 2 carrots and 2 cloves of garlic yesterday, but didn't think to strain it, a little salt added and tasted good. Great idea though to strain and keep the fibre to make a soup. Still learning (new blender) lol. 🌹

    @gawfboy You are so right! I recently received the Breville Juice Fountain Elite as a gift (so generous- THANK YOU CAROLYN!). I tried this recipes through the juicer and I LOVE it. The juice has a more bold flavor due to the absence of the water required to make juice with the vita-mix. I'll leave this video up because it shows a great alternative for people who do not have a juicer, want more pulp, or want to control the level of pulp. Thanks for watching and for your insights.

    @tripvids420 Thank you! Yes- if you have a juicer you can skip the step of straining the pulp out of the thicker juices. You do have to add water to use the VitaMix as a juicer, but I like this recipe both ways- in the VitaMix and in the juicer.

    @gawfboy Agreed- the Vita-Mix is worth every penny. As for the juicer. I am now using the Breville Elite and loving it. This method works well for making a delicious juice, but the juicer is faster, less messy, and since it doesn't require the water to make the mixture blend- it also has a strong flavor.

    I wish I have found a blender under 100 that I love. The closest I feel good about suggesting is the Nutribullent which you can get for $110 on Amazon. But in my experinec- and with the thousands of people I've coached through a transition to juicing & raw foods- the VitaMix or BlendTech are the way to go long term. A much better investment.

    Oxidation happens with blending- no doubt. But weight out the benefit of having the cellular structure of the plants (that can make some nutrients tough for us to access) broken down by blending and you can see why smoothies can be a healthy addition.

    Hey @ delicious Revolution what is the name of the song you use in the introduction?

  • @DeliciousRevolution
    @DeliciousRevolution  12 років тому +1

    You are correct, much of the fiber is removed with straining. This drink is intended to be a fast delivery of the phytonutrients in beets, not a fiber rich drink. This is the case with most juices. If you are looking for fiber you'll want smoothie recipes instead. There are several free ones on The Delicious Revolution site.

    • @kimmyt1172
      @kimmyt1172 7 років тому +1

      This fast delivery of the phytonutrients can cause sugar spikes and so it is not good for diabetics. They may not know this and end up sick or having high spikes which should be noted on your video. Your video is great; I just feel people who have diabetes should know this before they consume it this way; the fiber left in will slow down the rate of the sugar so it won't spike as fast.

    If you're a new juicer, don't add that much ginger. You will likely not like it and then won't learn to love it. Start out smaller and then as you grow to love it add more. If you're familiar with and use ginger in your juicing already, then go for it!

    I am towards the end of my third day of a juice fast. Getting tired of the same stuff, and wanted to try new things...things I would never eat... things, in my opinion, would make a billy goat puke (if I were a billy goat). Beets are right there at the top of this list. I have flashbacks of Catholic school lunchroom horrors when they would serve beets.
    Well, I tried this... I think I used a bit to much ginger, and I juiced everything with my Breville. It was not bad. :)

    Thanks for your question. Here is the clarification you requested. Wash the beets and peel the skin. Cut them into quarters if they are large beets (bigger than a base ball) or in half if they are small (golf ball size). You will also need to peel the ginger. No need to peel the apples, just quarter them to remove the seeds. Let me know how it goes. If you like your juices a little sweeter add extra apples.
