  • It is claimed that there have been more books written about Martin Luther than anyone else other than Jesus Christ. In those lists pundits compile about who were the most influential in shaping our modern world, the name Martin Luther inevitably shows up near the top, usually in the top ten. He is one of those few who can be proclaimed indisputably a "hinge of history." Yet Luther never wanted to be a renowned world shaper. He was more concerned to save his own soul and entered a monastery to get away from the world and seek his own salvation. But in finding his salvation, he rediscovered foundations of Biblical Christianity that shook the late Medieval world and challenged its assumptions about religious authority, what God was like, how we are to approach him, and how God saves us. T.N. Mohan, producer and director of the award-winning documentary on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Hanged on a Twisted Cross, returns to Germany to tell the story of its most famous son, interpreted from an overtly Protestant perspective. In this two-hour special, we come to understand Luther, what motivated him, the turning points in his life, the issues he confronted, the opposition that sought to defeat him, and the profound changes brought about under his leadership and ministry.
    Director: T.N. Mohan
    Starring: Wink Martindale

i suggest you for you own good, to please change your praises on Martin Luther truthfully unto the LORD JESUS CHRIST, who is the actual greatest human being ever lived. Even Martin Luther would forbid you to praise him, since he is one among many servants of GOD through LORD JESUS CHRIST for the church. Moreover, some martyrs from the Reformers era, lived a better servantship life than Martin Luther. And going back, the Apostles were even greater servants for GOD through CHRIST, even John like Luther died a natural death.
Thank you friend, for it is written, "For iron sharpens iron." And continuing, to CHRIST they are His chosen 'instruments'. And, to them who are instruments of CHRIST, they would merely reply to those they've served, "We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do." (Luke 17:10) Nevertheless, your expression about him speaking the truth and exposing corruption is well said. It similar to JESUS speaking the truth and exposing the corruption of the scribes and the Pharisees.
Mr Martin Luther and all born again believers able to witness corruption in the world, the church, even within themselves. Merely only by the discipleship through the All Scripture = HOLY BIBLE, especially in the New Testament. For this is the Grace and Truth of GOD which came down form Heaven through HIS SON, CHRIST JESUS our LORD in these last days.

@@mrjames5209 the exalting of Luther is probably a stench in the nostrils of God because it puts him on some level that only Christ is permitted to have. I'm personally pretty fed up with hearing the doctrine of Calvinism and all who follow the Protestant Catholic Calvinists all of the garbage that came out of that and what they never did do was dig even deeper and find the very truth of God. If Luther was the one who gave life to the church then everyone with that testimony would have to also testify that Christ himself the very Holy Spirit who came on the day of Pentecost and never has left his people ever, they would have to call Christ himself unfaithful to his word they are exalting Luther above Christ and I'm pretty fed up with that religious spirit myself. It's difficult to even try to be reasonable about it because of the way they exalt Luther. We are not to worship anyone but the Lord Jesus. This is sad that the very people that constantly exalt Luther are the very ones that are always criticizing others for so-called false worship when actually it's them that's worshiping other than Christ. I hear John MacArthur always using the very platform that God himself gave and he uses that platform to exalt the testimonies of dead men above the very word of God which is written in the book he's so claims to love. These are the people who reject the gifts of the Spirit and the reason why is because the lust that man has in his heart to exalt his self to the same level as Christ, that man would do anything to make sure that he gets to stay in a position of being the pious one. Calvinists are guilty of the very same thing that Catholics are guilty of which means John MacArthur is doing the same thing that the pope does just on a different level.

@@pamalawyerick2004 Apparently yes, that is only our discipleship is thorough n perfect according to the All Scripture = HOLY BIBLE. On the other hand, in order to be fair n right in our distinguishing judgement, it wasn't at peace n at rest during the time of Mr Martin Luther n the Reformers, n the church who chose them. Comparing, to our time today, ministers like MacArthur n the rest, n churches, who are at ease and at rest ever since. Where we had n have, the favorable peaceable time to be thorough n perfect disciple in the All Scripture inspired by GOD and canonized foundation.
Therefore, we today are supposedly able to respond as truthfully discerned believers, in honoring better GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. My discipleship is not fully based on the relaxed ministers and leaders of the church, nor by the church believers today, nor of the tense then. It is apparently by the New Testament of the chosen Apostles, n likewise added lesson by the Old Testament canonized together. JESUS disciple, even likewise to disciples of today, that they will be able to recognize a tree by it's fruit. Meaning a tree, where in our time, is all the established denominations since the Reformation forefathers. To, it's ordained ministers and leaders in charge, welcomed by the church until today acting as the Light n Salt of the earth.
And next meaning, by it's fruit are the believers, ones who are disciple and developed from these denominations since, even ones today from their elders performing ministry,. Whether, their words and actions as the trees and fruits, apparently show they are truthfully developed by the All Scripture = HOLY BIBLE, especially by the chosen Apostles of JESUS' foundation (2Timothy3:16&17)? Or, by the doctrine for teaching the commandments of men founded trees, apparently these are their fruits together in shortsighted hypocritical nominal faith they continue? In our witnessing today called to be wise believers and accountable ourselves as the fruit, developed especially according to New Testament foundation. Equally called as the church, tree and believer, fruit in togetherness and oneness founded, wisdom and act should be tangible with one another. And the Reformation forefathers did not call out for the establishment of denominations worldwide. But, for the translation and availability in many languages the HOLY BIBLE New Testament first, to disciple all nation, kindred and tongue from then on, period
P.S. By the way, we are called to workout our own Salvation in fear n trembling according to all the teaching of CHRIST in the New Testament. Instructing us, not be just as hears alone but as doers in all of them. Whilst, abide by them and bear much good fruit, n their fruit should abide. Truthfully, am also able to witness that they in some or more ways are better than me in faith. Therefore, am called to recognize n distinguish between the spirit of error and spirit of truth in the church. Therefore are called to be wise as a serpent n innocent as a dove among raven wolves. And on the other hand, not make a judgement or condemnation on them right now. For there is room for our prayers on them n room for their changes eventually before they die. Everything will be exposed n decided only on the judgement day by the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Be wise that one should not be surprised, who is accepted and who is rejected on that day. JESUS in advance already stated in the Gospel for our discipleship, the measure used His judgement will be based on.
Therefore, wise learned disciple believer will perceive from the same Scripture, "Workout your own salvation in fear n trembling."

And to the one you've replied, what if it is a false propaganda the vatican fabricated, which she is probably capable of. In the Gospel too, the Chief Priest paid the guards placed to guard JESUS' tomb who spoke the truth. To tell a lie that JESUS' disciples stole the body of JESUS and hid it. Since then, that false propaganda spread through out the region.

This documentary does a fine job of covering the life of Luther. He was truly a man who spent his life seeking the will of God, and made leaps and bounds in reintroducing many tenants of the Christian faith. Surely, light continued to shine brighter after his death, but much light came through his work to the common people. He did finally reconcile James with Paul's writings, but it is still a common misconception that he sought to throw James out entirely.

Katharina called Luther her lord, just like Sarah did Abraham, which God commends her for in I. Peter 3:6, setting her forth as the very example for Christian women to follow, even in the New Testament. That makes her a true asset and true spiritual woman, a supreme ensample to Christian women. Where could you find a woman like that today? I say, there are very many Jezebels prancing around today, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet, like the Israelitesses of old in Isaiah chapter 3, deceived by Satan as was Eve, calling themselves prophetesses like Joyce Meyer, filling God's women full of the devil's doctrines, produced by the spirit of the world, not from the Spirit of God and his holy word.

Every time I read Isaiah 3 about those woman with the well set hair, earrings, multiple changes of clothing, etc. it exactly corresponds to Schindler's List. In the beginning you see a Jewish woman that is being evicted from her home for Schindler. She has all of those qualities. Later, you see all of the women with a rope instead of a belt, a plucked out scalp instead of well set hair, sackcloth instead of nice clothing, putrefaction or 'stink' instead of perfume and burning instead of beauty as they show the chimneys of the ovens as the train is entering the Auschwitz Concentration Camp. What could be more of a fulfilled prophecy? Also, I agree with you. Where could you find a woman like Sarah or Katerina today?

Really, do you not believe Scripture, such as Romans 10:9?
Remember that Christ paid for all sins of those who come to Him, He's always knocking and will turn none away.
Do I agree with all Luther said or taught, by no means, do I think some of his beliefs were damnably wrong, yes, but I know I'm not His final judge and only the Lord knows his fate.
He did act as if he believed truthfully in Scripture, even as wrong as he sometimes was about the Hebrew people. He at least professed belief in the Son of God, our Savior Jesus Christ and believed God raised Him from the dead but only God knows the hearts of men.
I know God has not forsaken the patriarchs or His people or His many unchanging promises to them. Romans 11 is more than enough to shut down such misguided beliefs.

Let's take a closer look at Martin Luther. Following is a quote from convicted Nazi war criminal Julius Streicher placing the blame on Martin Luther : “Anti-Semitic publications have existed in Germany for centuries. A book I had, written by Dr Martin Luther, was, for instance, confiscated. Dr Martin Luther would very probably sit in my place in the defendants’ dock today, if this book had been taken into consideration by the prosecution. In the book, “The Jews and Their Lies”, Dr Martin Luther writes that the Jews are a serpent’s brood and one should burn down their synagogues and destroy them…”

To link Luther to Nazism and the Holocaust is drawing a long bow. That Nazi was twisting beyond belief the truth to try and avoid his guilt. Luther never burnt any Jew. Luther stood up to a church that over a Millenia had martyred an estimated 50-200 million Christians. The result was the Reformation that produced the free world no longer subjugated to the RCC. You have utterly failed to see the bigger picture on a failing of Luther. Perhaps examen your own life and see what failing you have, because we all have them.

As a Catholic priest, Luther , became frustrated regarding confessing his sins
on a daily basis, but you only have to confess your MORTAL(MAJOR) sins to a priest
aka the vessel for Jesus in the confessional.
VENIAL (MINOR) sins can be confessed directly to God.
Though, Luther was a Catholic priest, he didn't fully comprehend the gospels.
Those who die in mortal sin won’t be saved: 1 Corinthians 6:9
Jesus said to Kepha aka St Peter and the apostles:
    If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven;
if you retain the sins of any, they are retained'" (John 20:21-23).
And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church,
and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.

and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
