Working and staying productive while travelling can be difficult, but there are things you can do to help. I've created my very own portable Mac desk setup, that's lightweight and minimal but allows me to work with ease from anywhere on the planet. This setup would be great for students on the move, frequent travellers, remote workers, or even the hardcore minimalist onebag enthusiast.

Honestly I think it would come out to be around the same price (with the exception of the Minaal bag, as it is fairly expensive). You can certainly go with a cheaper bag and a cheap mouse for example, but travelling with cheap gear is unpleasant in my experience (especially if you're a frequent traveller and do a lot of remote work). If you are restricted by budget, go with a bag from Osprey, skip the small tech bag for accessories and just use a clear plastic bag, and cheap logitech keyboard. You'd save a few hundred.

I have always wanted to travel with just one bag. The problem is most airlines limit the weight of your carry on backpack to just 7kgs, and I could never manage to get all my essentials down to 7kgs in weight. I use windows laptop, and the laptop and the power brick combined weighs around 4kgs.

It sure ain't cheap, but it will last me 10+ years and Minaal has a lifetime warranty and great brand reputation.

Nice idea but there is an alternative way I like. Get rid of the keyboard (you have a perfect Macbook one), get rid of the mouse (gestures are amazing on the trackpad) and even get rid of the stand.
Instead:
1 x Macbook
1 x Joby Tripod
1 x External Monitor/ iPad
Use your Macbook like normal but have the joby camera tripd behind and attach a screen. If you already have an iPad than that is fine, otherwise buy an external monitor for about £150. With this you'll probably save money and have more uses. (Tripod for a camera,)
Your set up is less ergonomic which isnt good for your health long term.

Hey, I had a suggestion, Instead of the normal apple keyboard, you could've gone with the mx keys. It works really well with the mx master mouse and its a smaller keyboard than the apple one. Let me know your thought bro 👊🏻
I tried this just recently and really like it. The only thing I would change is to have a TKL mech keyboard (low-profile) instead of the apple keyboard, the magic keyboard is ok for burst work but I wouldnt be comfortable using it for longer trips. I also use a different mouse but those can be very preference based since this setup focuses more on productivity than gaming.
My variation is with the Roost Stand, a Logitech G502, and a Razer Huntsman TKL with Purple Switches. It is a bit overkill for short trips but for longer trips it is a gamechanger
