Ecosystem is one of the primary reasons I’ve stayed true to Apple the last 5 years. Sure some other products may have some neat or niche features, but the centralization and convenience of Apple is insanely valuable to a student like me.

All this looks great, but I think a large screen laptop and phone are all you need to stay productive on the move. I’ve never found using two screens on coffee shop tables to be easy.

I personally have used a similar setup. I will always have my phone with me for hotspot and important notifications. I use sidecar all the time when the space allows. If I am working on a small table, it would be MacBook only. If there is barely enough room, I would use the iPad only. 2 tablets seemed a bit overkill and I think the smartphone can take the place of the iPad mini instead.
VERY NICE. My mobile pack includes a MacBook, iPad as a 2nd monitor or universal controlled screen for content reference, foldable MacBook/iPad stand(s), Bluetooth(iPad) keyboard, and Logitech MX mouse. As you've mentioned I'm also ok with just my MacBook but for content heavy projects a 2nd screen definitely helps. Also can't forget audio. Currently loving my soundcore q35. ANC is a requirement for working in public spaces.
Wow! I love this set up so much!! I use both the 12.9 iPad Pro and mini too!! They complement each other so well. I have been wanting to get the 16 MacBook Pro too but I’m still saving up. Also that Apple Watch charger looks so handy. I think I need to grab that. Great video! ☺️

I do the same thing with regards to trackpad and mouse. They both serve a purpose for me even though I know I can do side scrolling with the side wheel.
Love the tablet stand by Pitaka. Is there anything similar that will fold into a backpack? That would be amazing to set up in a hotel room.

On the double input method, I tried it but I soon felt that the mouse was not really necessary. I am not a gamer, so gamers can put their pitchforks down. I personally feel like the trackpad does it all for me with its system-wide gestures. I bought the MX Master mouse but there are some issues with it. First of all, the scrolling is horrible as Apple doesn't allow third-party peripherals to use its smooth scrolling technology. The side scroll wheel is also really bad. The thumb button is weird and difficult to press. The back-and-forth button only works in browsers but not apps like Apple Music. When I try to program my buttons, I usually find keyboard shortcuts way faster and more efficient and also more ergonomic (yes I am weird). So ultimately, I ditched my mouse and went trackpad only with my MacBook. It is one less thing to bring, charge, and put on the desk, this is especially useful when I am settled in a coffee shop onm a small coffee table.
This is the set up I want! I only wish that universal control came to the iPhone. That way I can just have my pro max instead of iPad mini

You can use it without a case. You can stick a small magnetic sticker on the back of the tablet

The smart desk doesn’t fit in the backpack?
The setup is great but how heavy is that backpack with all those accessories? This is ideal for going on long trips but not to the coffeeshop though.
The only thing, i wish apple bring back are those space grey colour options. I love the aesthetics of greys and blacks over silver. But i don’t think that’s gonna happen any soon. Bytheway, sick setup E. Do you have a tech discord server?

Hey, E! Big fan. Got super insipred by this video & actually have been eyeing the Moft mat for a while & finally pulled the trigger. Unfortunately the bag I have at the moment does not fit the entirety of the mat. Does the Aer bag you showcased fit the entirety of the mat? I was watching the video, but could not see a moment where you packed it within the bag. Would greatly appreciate a response!
can you tell me how you use the pen cut out tool in affinity? what does it look like?
I feel like the monitor setups height is not the best and will make you have neck problems. Other setups which put the monitor into a better height are maybe more sufficient for this purpose

It was, at a point, when the logi options software wasn’t M1 Native but for about a month or so now, it’s flawless.

Yeah agreed, he’s saying a 12.9 inch iPad is the same as a 49 inch ultrawide monitor lol. It’s like saying an electric scooter is a portable car. Both are motor vehicles that get you around, but the difference in speed, amount of stuff you can carry, etc is obviously vastly different.
