Love your videos! I'm planning my first trip to Scotland (unfortunately only a short one) but your videos are my favorite. Very informative and down to earth. Needless to say, I'm very excited for my visit! Thanks for the great videos. :) keep up the good work.
Thank you so much. I hope you have a great visit.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I was dumb lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Fletcher Giovanni Instablaster =)
@Idris Langston thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Idris Langston It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you really help me out :D
It is now 2023. I just watched the Haunted Pub video from today, 14October2023. So of course, I wanted to watch this video again! Clan Broonford is even better 2023! Thank you for your years of storytelling and sharing your beautiful hometown with the Clan! 💙🏴💙
We really do have a love/hate relationship with your videos.
Loooooove watching them, but makes us miss Edinburgh so much it almost hurts :')
Sorry, hopefully the videos will just make you happy to see Edinburgh........ eventually.
@@ClanBroonford We're going next year, and using your videos as a replacement until we can come back. Truly my absolute favourite city!
Oh no.... you hate us too?
Agreed because I am an Edinburgh guy living in England.
Hello,
Where you were standing in Niddrie Street, right behind you used to be a row of little old shops which had been derelict for years.
When I was a little girl 80 years ago, I used to try the locks and wish I could get in. Even then they were covered in cobwebs and looked really creepy. Further up the street and up a stair was a hall where they gave dance lessons and we learned how to rock and roll in the fifties.
You’ve provided a perfect little pub crawl for when we stay in a couple week.. will make it 6 pubs and visit the inbetween off royal mile 👍🏻🍻
Don't know about whether they're haunted or not, all I can say is, I've had some amazing times in all of those pubs.
That was a trip down memory lane, though some names have changed and the decor's improved! Bennet's Bar, and the Merlin were the pubs I haunted fifty years ago!
You’re such an entertaining storyteller. Hoping to visit Edinburgh in 2020!
I would love it if you could do a video about the houses that were half buried to create the Royal Mile.
Thank you for the stories and for taking the time to share with us. I have been home two weeks from our trip to Edinburgh and miss it sooo much.
Imagine how I feel as was born in the city!
Edinburgh is defo haunted, used to do shifts at the globe and our bins were down a close next to the royal mile tavern at this time construction was going on. So opened the makeshift door to the close and got instant chills like someone was at the end of it, quickly walked in and threw the rubbish in and the second I got out the door just slams behind me and this was mid summer with no wind whatsoever. May seem like nothing but got the feeling whatever was there wanted me out.
I like so much this video, that`s very interesting. Thanks to share
Ah, that was great! I love a good ghost story. I was not expecting that Banshee story, that’d make a good horror nights house at Universal.
Maybe Scottish folklore tales, the Scots are right there with the Irish for macabre tales & creatures.
I did read that Auld Reekie was one of the most haunted in the UK.
Would be great if you did a video of some of must go to real ale pubs in Edinburgh. Most videos on UA-cam are really short. You could possibly do a series of the pubs and what they are like inside perhaps?? . Love your videos keep up the good work !
This is a great idea, I shall see what i can do.
I have just been to Edinburgh. I visited both The White Hart Inn and Toolboth Tavern, but none of the bartenders had experienced anything in there.
Such fun information! Thanks for the cool vid!
You'd told a story about the bridges a few videos ago and one was a story about someone trapped in rubble and said something to the effect of 'don't stop digging, I'm still alive'. It was probably one of the more memorable stories you've told - for me anyway. Haha!
Not related at all, but I don't know if either you or Kirsten have tattoos, but I really want to get one in Edinburgh in a couple weeks, and was hoping you had suggestions on where to go.
Hi, the story you remember was building on the royal mile. Its one of my favourites as well. We do have tattoos, there re plenty to take a visit to. There is a good place on Jeffrey street just off the royal mile, near the world end pub called studio 13. They did a phoenix on my arm a few years ago and i still luv it.
@@ClanBroonford thanks for the suggestion! I'll look them up. I'd seen several just googling, but it can feel overwhelming choosing and personal recommendation helps a lot! Cheers!
When in a come in a couple of weeks, I am definitely going to check out one of these. Thanks so much for showing us the city. It is so helpful, plus I absolutely LOVE your humor. Clan Broonford for sure!
Another quality upload
Have visited many times in the past and have just discovered your videos . Being a CAMRA member I naturally found this one very enjoyable .
thanks for providing an opportunity to armchair travel and once again be there
You are very welcome, thanks for watching.
I love to go back and watch these. Can’t wait to come back to Edinburgh.
Up to Edinburgh on 21st May 22. We only drink beer, and don’t indulge with sprits.
We were at the White Hart last week. Not only was the bartender kind enough to buy us a bottle of wine and joining us after his shift (we were getting married in two days), he said one time he was eating his lunch - alone - in the office (which I think is downstairs), and he felt someone push his chair. Looked around, no one there. Creepy!
I'm going to Edinburgh to visit 4 Irish pubs, Malones, Biddy Mulligans, Kitty O'Sheas, and Finnegan's Wake.
Great vid thank you 😍
Just discovered your page and loving it! Going for our 2nd trip to Edinburgh in October and wondered if you had a video or suggestions for best places to eat? All the best
Banshee is a class place! :P
Join us(creepy voice)? That was appropriately fitting seeing that you just did haunted pubs! Will I go into these establishments..?.um no! Still waiting for songs Tony...both of you and the dogs have an awesome week!!
Songs will take some time to organise..... but will get there eventually.
We arrived in Edinburgh on August 28 and were wandering around on September 1 passing all 5 pubs, but not stopping in any!
Great ghost stories! We stayed by The Worlds End and it was a little creepy but the food was good.
Yeah, the worlds end does great food.
Cracking video, Tony. I am sorry that my friend and I dinnae get the chance to visit a haunted pub, especially when I have a wee tendency to pick up on some paranormal activity. Keep up the brill videos, ...although you are making me more homesick😂. Slàinte
You are properly plowing through the videos. Thanks for taking the time to watch them all.
Just returned from a fantastic long weekend in Edinburgh. Can’t thank you enough for all the great info. You said you have never been to Rosslyn. I highly recommend it. Beautiful out there and a very short ride. Also check out “The Scotch Malt Whisky Society”. The place has a great history to it. Their haggis is hands down the best I have ever eaten.
Glad you had a great visit. I shall try to head over and taste their haggis at some point.
Love your videos ... I loved my time in Edinburgh ... maybe you could do a tour of the places that Ian rankin mentions in his book ... I went to the Oxford bar and had a drink in it but would be interested to see more of the places
Glad you enjoy the videos. I have been asked that before...... think i need to read the books first. I know, an Edinburgh person having not read them. I am ashamed.
Whisthle Binkies has still these gigs for music bands, isn't it? I've been there years ago. Lovely place. Not seen a ghost but my friend, lol!
Hi there,
Just found your channel and have enjoyed your local gen about Edinburgh, really enjoyed the local's insight and tour. (Have the Botanical Gardens light and Christmas market one to watch later).
I have been to Edinburgh quite a few times since 2004 and love it, the last time being 2015.
I always go for a meal at the 'White Hart, when in Edinburgh, have good entertainment as well. When I first went in there, I remember saying to my Mum as we found a table, I had a feeling that it was haunted (just felt something), only found out it was, when asking the barman.
I always have to do a ghost walk whilst visiting (love 'The City Of The Dead' tours).
I done the one with the torture museum once, (not sure if Mercat or Auld Reekie tours) that came out in the pub (Banshee one) on Niddry Street if I remember rightly, but I didn't think it was called the Banshee Labyrinth though, maybe my memory. Has it's name changed?
Think if you ever done a pub tour video of Edinburgh it would take for ever, so many to choose from and lots with history.
Thanks, as said really enjoyed it.
Ps. Been to other pubs that claim to be haunted, but never have had the feeling I had in the White Hart.
Thank you. Hope you enjoy the botanics video.
Great video! My friends & I were @ The White Hart this afternoon! & learned about the ghosts this evening. Wish we had you as our tour guide instead of the one we had! Loving our visit to bonnie Scotland!
Shame you missed me, you could have said hi. Hope your tour guide was ok.👍
Hello to the Broonfords.. Just found your videos a few days ago.. My hubby and my self are heading to Edinburgh for the first time at the end of October. Can't wait..we are from Midleton Co Cork in South of Ireland.. Would u know of a nice but cheap hotel to stay.. Love haunted stories.. We are in our mid 40s.. Still young.. Ha ha.. Getting g lots of information from ye.... Ye are a fab couple.. Many many thanks
Debbie
Hi, and thank you so much. Hope the videos help you plan. I am afraid i can't really help with any cheap hotels. Don't really know what prices are like, as we never say in them. Really sorry.
Love it! Thank u for sharing the interesting information!
Your welcome.
Great video! I will be sure to visit all of them and will let you know if anything or anyone shows up. #clanbroonford all the way!
I look forward to your ghost report 😀👻
Love your videos, keep em’ coming, please!
Question: Is the Fringe festival super crowded the entire month of August?
I booked a trip to Scotland the last two weeks of August and was curious if the crowds lighten up a bit ? I thought I avoided the crowds by missing the military tattoo, and was not aware of the festival that takes place in the city until I saw your video.
August is incredibly busy, and the military tattoo runs for the whole of August as well. During the Edinburgh festival (which is the whole of August) the population of Edinburgh doubles, I’m sorry to say.
Going to Edinburgh in November staying at the APEX in Grassmarket and we cannot wait ! Bit of a strange request but could you show the airport / transport from the airport ? Keep up the great work very very helpful videos and deserve a lot more praise for them ✌🏻Ben - Somerset England.
Hi, I have actually done a video on getting into the cd true if town. Here is the link, I hope it helps. ua-cam.com/video/jc4ygHs0UeI/v-deo.html
I have been in the white Hart. Will be rechecking the photos I took for ghosts.
Will you still possibly do a video on places to go for wheelchair accessibility (motorised wide chair)
Thank you
The white hart inn
The last drop
The banshee labyrinth
Whistlebinkies
tolbooth tabern
Hi Tony please can you do more Haunted videos of all over Edinburgh , was wondering if its as Haunted as Wales Thank you x
Here for second time, will have to make a third trip soon! We love Edinburgh, any idea what the job market is like for occupational Therapists? 🙈😂
I just booked a trip for my young Son and I for November. I seen a recent comment here that mentioned you've never been to or made a video on Rosslyn Chapel. Any plans on making a video from there anytime soon and what are the chances of seeing the Northern Lights in Edinburgh or is it still a little too far south for that? BTW great stuff keep'em coming. we've enjoyed binge watching this weekend planning our trip.
We do want to get there eventually. It’s on the list..... I promise.😸👍
Thank you.
Time share 😄
Ye Olde Inn!!
He slimed me. Ghostbusters fan too.
Oops, I missed going into The Banshee's Labyrinth on my trip.
Forgot the Mitre on the Royal mile.
11.40 do you know the story about where you are standing .
No please tell.
@@ClanBroonford Its from a story my great grandmother told me , the plot of land was never to be built upon due to the previous builidings burning down and if there was ever buildings on that site they to would burn down so that is why that area is not built upon .That area before the hotel was built was a gap site for many years and when building work started it was the only part not built upon .
Get a clan broonford tartan and start doing merch! Then all us broonfords can show our broonford pride.
One day maybe.
Hello
Im from Portugal 🇵🇹
And i go To the Edimburg in 4 september 🤗
I see your vídeos and the day trio in the jacobite. But dont have tickets😪😪😪
Tell me please where i can buy 2 tickets ( between 7 and 10 september)
Thanks 😊😊😊
Hi, unfortunately you can not get the jocobite train in Edinburgh. You have to travel to Fort William to get it. Also, it is incredibly popular, you have to book st least 6 months in advance. Here is the website for more information. www.westcoastrailways.co.uk/jacobite/jacobite-steam-train-details.cfm
The haunted pubs are full of spirits but it depends on what one you like lol
See what you did there.
Have you ever done a video for best
Great content great stories but I had to pause, you spining the camera so violently made me seesick no kidding ; less face , more scenery , stop spinning - you' ll be the best. imho
Sorry, will try to get better at that. I get excited to show you all things and don't think about that. Thanks for pointing it out.
What do you locals like to do and like to go to get away from the invaders . Lol
I thought all pubs claim to be haunted...
They possibly do a little 😀
As old as that area is I'd guess the whole city is haunted
