Super helpful plug on the mattress! I cut an old free mattress to fit my Colorado for a month long cross country camping trip. I love how you did the ledges on the sides too!
Looks like a good time. I'm saving up for a 2000 or so Dodge Dakota this summer I can put a shell on the back and go travel, fish and camp in with my dog. I live in Oregon but I would love to see a lot of other states. Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, California, Washington, Alaska and even Canada. LOTS of traveling lol.
Ha this is exactly why I did this to my truck also me and the family love camping but usually only get about a 2 day stay at a site so dragging the camper out prepping it set up and take down of all the blocking for 2 days was getting excessive so this year I am going to transform my truck into a 3 day stay camper lol. Thanks for sharing with us btw!
Did you find that you ever wished you has left the mattress deck about a foot shored than the bed so you could sit on the edge of bed to take off your shoes or put them on as well as open and close the tail gate
Nice setup, thanks. I've dome something similar with my F150 and ARE shell. I like the windoors on mine to get access from the sides. I'm using plastic tubs underneath but your drawers look a lot better.
sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Kristopher Charles I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
A sleep bed waste lot of space unless for convinence of one night short time stay . If you need long stay for more days in future, you should make it two modes, one is transportation mode ,a compack mode, another is living mode. That means when you in long stay , you push most container out from truck to get more living space. A transportation mode transform into living mode by a slider. And you can get a long bed by design . A back door tent or cover can extend living space.
Great video. I'm thinking of getting a camper shell for my RAM with the 5'7" bed rather than a tonneau cover but I've been hesitant because I'm six feet tall and the bed is not. How tall are you and is it fairly comfortable to sleep diagonally in there?
Thanks! I’m 6’2 and also had the 5’7 bed. Sleeping solo was comfortable diagonally but ended up changing setups since we travel together. Sleeping two was rather crammed. Hope this helps!
That is pretty much the same set up I have. Where did you get the mattress? That is the only thing I was missing. I was in the same area as you. Try out Blue Lakes south of Breck.

They’ve worked out great so far! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Definitely recommend the setup! We found an older pop up camper but otherwise would still be camping under the truck shell
A.R.E. Nice topper !

Have you looked at our Camper Top Tent by DAC, Inc for the back of your truck? It adds length your truck bed plus ventilation and privacy.
Nice and basic, it is always nice if you can sit up straight at least.
You say short bed. Does that mean the really short one or the 6’4” truck bed?
sorry to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..?

@Deshawn Ahmir instablaster :)

@Kristopher Charles it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Deshawn Ahmir glad I could help :)
Good to see you're back. And congrats on graduating college!
Have you seen the Camper Top Tent by DAC, Inc. It’s reasonably priced and adds extra length to the truck bed while providing ventilation and privacy.
Yes, I have been debating on one of those
정말 멋진 트럭캠핑이네요⭐️
What's the length of your truck bed?
I was thinking the same thing...i have a short bed too and im 5'10" so how do u sleep in there if u are tall?
@@CarlasCorner62 l;m 5'2 so l'm good. when l was car camping in my little Nissin Micra it's the letter S or the side \ lol but it works

Simple is best! Allot like my set up!
What size bed everyone is asking lol?

BTW, I'm going back out mid September and always looking for good areas to camp/fish.
my question is how do u stay cool in there?
Plug in fan probably
I have a canyon with a short bed... im almost 6ft tall... is this possible in a short bed?
I’m 6’2 and would have been comfortable enough solo, but with tho it made sleeping rather difficult
Is this a 5.5 truck bed.
Yes, 5’7 short bed
The 16 people who disliked this must have miserable lives....
Agreed they probably live in their parents basement and watch UA-cam all day whilst consuming 30 McDonald’s cheeseburgers and 20 bars of chocolate
@@dirtbiker1745 😂😂😂still wearing masks
How tall are you?
6’2
How does this do in colder/warmer temperatures?
Buddy heater works great 👍
We used a buddy heater for a quick heat blast but definitely had some moisture issues with it
Short bed is just 5.7"

Thanks for watching!
Just need to paint the 2×4s
Why
Title says Short Bed. How tall are you?
6’2, I have to sleep at an angle in the bed but it works
Living Large Camping thank you. I’m 6’3 but I think I’m gonna try it. Much cheaper that roof top tents. Thanks again.
@@LivingLargeCamping nice! Im 5'11 , picking up a canopy for my shortbed in an hour! Stoked
My Tacoma short bed is 5'. I'd have to hang my legs over the tailgate!
