How are you going to let a sink in while in the corner? Unless there's a window or a door there to do so, you might want to rethink your plan of action.
An entire room of Judgement Boy?! This is awesome! *after hearing them* None of them are voiced by Jerry Jewell. Meh, at least it's better then the game!
I think people are focusing too much on the specifics. The woman's main issue is with regret. Looking back & realizing that maybe the choices she made that she thought would make her happy have left her empty. It's something everyone faces. Yes, it's all heavy-handed & one-sided. Both parties clearly made poor choices. Why did getting the promotion mean she had to reject the proposal? Why did he have to break it off just because she was more successful? And what kind of crappy friend dates their best friend's ex & then invites said friend to the wedding?
***** I don't think that's limited to Japanese culture. Even in the US there's a general mindset that the man's job is more important than the woman's & if someone has to sacrifice a job to be the caretaker, it's usually expected to be the woman. But yeah, you have to take the culture these shows come from into consideration. Japan does typically place a higher emphasis on conforming to societal norms.
IronMaidenLeigh Up until these episodes I found the first episodes to be really interesting. I thought it was going to be about how the main character strives to be independent but ends up pushing everyone away.
The boyfriend's drinking problem is her fault? So I assume if the boyfriend were getting questioned, they'd blame him for not paying attention to how she's doing in her job and putting all this pressure on her at an inopportune time.
AuroraKnux There are different versions of him, that’s not the one that flies around in the halls, there are 5 others, if you look closely there are numbers on their shirts instead of “Judgement Day” uwu Hope this helps
I liked how the Judgment Boys in the first season asked questions that could easily be interpreted as having nothing to do with the first guest. They were just difficult and unrelated problems to show what type of person you are. The problem isn't what matters, it's your choice, and the judgment passed on you for that decision. In this season though it's all literal interpretations meant to guilt the second guest. The focus is now on the proposed problems and her decisions are no longer important. It just ruins all symbolism and subtlety this gimmick used to have....
I just can't back this choice, it's not fair that the woman HAS to choose a career or her boyfriend, and then is demonized for NOT picking the boyfriend :( She should be proud she's advancing and they should have TRIED to work something out
Janos Audron Thank you, I was about to say this. A guy is expected to keep both his career and his relationship, but a woman is meant to give up her career for the guy?
No, they are pretty obviously demonizing her for not devoting her life to her boyfriend (accepting his proposal) and instead picking her career over marriage.
Oh , also she's apparently a monster because due to her rejection he "develops a drinking problem and has to be hospitalized" So yeah it's not judging her because she hasn't moved on, it's because she chose "Money" (her own career and success) over "Love" (Accepting her boyfriends proposal)
Janos Audron To be fair that happened with the first volume too "you're girlfriend was hospitalized and you're a monster for not seeing her even though the accident wasn't your fault and she died anyway" Although that choice was actually does make you look like a horrible person, and I can't really counter argue the drinking problem statement. Although, they also hinted she was jealous enough to ruin their marriage so I wouldn't say she was innocent. Honestly though I like the second protagonist better because unlike the first one she actively participates in the plot instead of standing there like a dope.
No, the first volume was equally bad because the guy only had ONE option to make him look like the good guy "Go see his dying girlfriend instead of advancing his career" anyone can tell what the right option is (and would pick it to not look horrid) I like the second protagonist as well, she seems to have far more hope, but her issues all had to do with "marriage" and "beauty" and not being "as young as she used to" which just makes me go bleck... I still utterly adore this series for it's symbolism but damn it's sorta gender stereotypical at times...XD
I'm torn on this season. On one hand, I really hate that the female protagonist's issues are all based on losing her man to another woman. On the other, she gets a lot more development and has been shown to be much smarter in various situations than the previous protagonist, so maybe it balances out...
i’d like to provide my own two cents on this argument 7 years late. i think where i disagree with a lot of you on this is the idea that the protagonist is being condemned specifically for turning down marriage. a lot of people have pointed out that she had no way of knowing that what she said would destroy her relationship or lead her boyfriend to alcoholism; i say that’s the point. the decision wasn’t supposed to be fair, because according to gregory horror show, *life* isn’t fair. judgement boy directly embodies that concept. the story doesn’t say that guest 2 did the wrong thing- that’s what guest 2 says to herself. ultimately, that’s the crux of second guest’s conflict; the protagonist’s true personal failing is her inability to live with the consequences of her decision. she simply never moved on; while her boyfriend got his life back on track and found new love, she grew bitter and violent while constantly being haunted by her past. seeing her ex get married provided her two options: she could either finally accept what happened and find her own happiness like he did, or she could refuse reality itself and regress into a fantasy where she could eternally remain in loveless sorrow. and, just as judgement boy gold showed us, she chose the latter option and discarded her heart into the abyss.
Japan is very different from the US. If she accepted the proposal, the company would have fired her. In Japan, once you become a wife, you are expected to have kids and become a wife full time. Japan takes misogyny to a whole new level. It's still like this btw. There've been women coming out on twitter explaining this phenomenon.
So this is the Judgment Boy training center? Cool. What I don't like is that the guest's problems are made apparent early and seem to be focus of most of these nights.
OH NO THEY CHANGED HIS VOICE THEY CHANGED HIS VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE oh wait I don't care
Supongo que solo aceptan una decisión Y pues en este caso al ser una serie hecha en Japón se apega a esas ideas sobre la cultura de Japón sobre el matrimonio y el trabajo
Papa judgement and his little baby judgements
PAPA JUDGEMENT. JESUS.
They look more like trainees
This is the best thing i've ever read in my life!
Judgement boys are a species. I'm going to go sit in the corner to let that sink in.
How are you going to let a sink in while in the corner? Unless there's a window or a door there to do so, you might want to rethink your plan of action.
Judgement boy is harmless considering all this
An entire room of Judgement Boy?! This is awesome!

1:59 ...That Judgement Boy in the back definitely broke something. Ouch.
be glad that their bodies are mechanical and not made of flesh
Me at the beginning of the episode:
YAY! Judgement Boy is in this!
At the end:
No why did you betray me, Gregory!? Why?!
I like how this season tells us more about the characters, like this one telling us how judgement boy is "taught"
The boyfriend's drinking problem is her fault?
So I assume if the boyfriend were getting questioned, they'd blame him for not paying attention to how she's doing in her job and putting all this pressure on her at an inopportune time.
Well actually in the first season they did a similar question, except the girlfriend was dying in the hospital.
It's. A. Cult.
@@invertedgrass5345 really?
I liked his Volume 1 voice better...ah well.
It comes back in Volume 3.

First of all, the boyfriend should of been supportive of her decision. :/
She turning him down because she has a new job. It's not like he wanted her to pick either himself or the job.
Chris de black but he did

The Judgement Boys' voices sound different than the first season. Could they not get the original VA for this episode?
So this is the Judgment Boy training center? Cool. What I don't like is that the guest's problems are made apparent early and seem to be focus of most of these nights.
