@@Gmny1MOA agree 100%. I’d rather have just the cardboard box than a plastic case that is useless as soon as I add an optic. With the box I have zero expectation of ever using it aside from shipping or maybe storage. The skinny hard cases that come with some guns seem like such a let down
SOLGW makes nice rifles. I guess I should've looked at the photos a bit closer. I recently purchased an M89 rail and I thought the difference between it and the L89 was just the material used for the barrel nut. I didn't realize the L89 had integrated QDs and more mlok. Oh well, the M89 is still a good rail. Seems extremely sturdy too.
@@2AF_com well I heard from various knowledgeable people in the industry that SOLGW sources most of there parts from BA, and I also know that recently TYPE A recently got caught using Anderson parts in there rifles 😂 btw Type A rifles start off around the 2k mark.
Only the early ones. But either way, that doesn't mean they're the same as what Ballistic Advantage sells. It's called contract machining. When you're contracted to machine something by a client you machine it to precisely their specifications and if you don't the customer will reject the part(s). I frequently find that online gun experts in the youtube comment section rarely understand what "tolerance" actually means. So, to sum it up--tolerance is the allowed variation in a manufactured component. More specifically--every part of a machined component is going to have its own tolerance. For example--the gas port will have a tolerance. There will be a tolerance for the surface finish of the machined surfaces. There will be a tolerance for any threads/thread relief, overall size, etc. Depending on the customer, your tolerance could be as much as .005" or it could be as small as .0001". You simply cannot know what SOLGW tolerances are unless you buy several of their barrels and individually gauge them or use something like CMM. I can just about guarantee you that SOLGW has very stringent quality standards in place. I am a machinist/tool maker and I was really impressed with my SOLGW M89 and SOLGW stripped upper. Even the anodizing on the two components was of a higher quality than I'm used to seeing. The parts were completely free of cutter marks and that's something I look for even though it doesn't effect performance at all. SOLGW sells quality products. Ballistic Advantage sells quality products...sometimes.
@@armorers_wrenchI’m familiar with all of that but didn’t think that’s what he could be referring to since there are clearly lots of parts on this gun not made by BA.
They never used BA barrels. On Primary and Secondary Michalski had stated that their OEM wasn't who everyone thought that they were. The way the barrels back then were marked, told me they were Rosco. The new barrels are CHF and the profile is eerily similar to Jim Hodges barrels. And are probably FN. M89 and L89 rails are made by Icon Defense. Formerly the Dudes from Mega Arms. I don't know how Zev fits into the script. Cause they are still producing the same forged lower that were Mega at one time. And the new Icons are the exact same. Forward Controls makes a lot of the stuff that SOLGW uses. Schmid makes that new trigger. Those Broadsword uppers and lowers I dont know who makes them. I think they put together a good platform. Little on the expensive side. But good QA/QC. I have a acquaintance that has a few of their rifles. They run well. Ballistic Advantage and Aero Precision are pretty much dogsh*t. Those barrels are not good. I can't take a company serious that has NiB barrel extensions. People that actually put high round counts on guns have been burning BA/Aero barrels down pretty fast. Most of their BCG's are Toolcraft. Pretty much dogsh*t. Look up cage code 1b1b6. Toolcraft had a one off 750k contract with the .mil, .gov that ALL were recalled.
@@HectorRascon-v4k it’s SOLGW own trigger, the L2S… or Liberty 2 Stage. I didn’t mess with it much, but from what I felt, the first stage was slightly heavier then something like a Geissele SSA-E, but the second stage broke probably just as clean. Or very close to it.
I wasn’t impressed when they showed this in their release video. But it’s definitely more appealing in your video.
Thank you for watching. I liked the release video and was excited to get it in. I look forward to getting more
They actually give you cool stuff...my 5k dollar 308 sig spear came with brown cardboard and 1 pmag

Little nicer than some of the other signature rifles they do in terms of furniture
@@rytacarms the furniture on a gun is often really subjective. Magpul and B5 seem to be the two biggest go to companies for OEM stuff. I like both
That's sick, like it a lot

M89 is better in my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
👍👍💪
I think it’s pretty well done!
Good looking rig. That looks like a single stage trigger to me.
@@WhatAboutTheIndividual a single stage wouldn’t have any take up in it at all
@@2AF_com Oh I see. It’s a Geissele two stage trigger. The SOLGW two stage trigger has a different shoe shape.
How much for this sweet looking gun?.
Don’t ever forget SOLGW gets all there parts from Ballistic Advantage 😬
Tell me more!
