What do you think are the key advantages that make Regina, Saskatchewan an attractive place to live and work?
Comment down below! 👇👇👇
Yes of course, the RCMP, Wascana Park and Lake ... are among the attractives places to enjoy in Regina, Saskatchewan.
True story
Only an hour from Moose Jaw
@@plasticstraws6960 true story! Should I do a video on moose jaw?
@@LivinginsaskatoonguideYes, do a video about Moose Jaw. Way nicer than Regina, with lots of history. Slower pace of life as well. Burton Cummings lives there.
Reginan here.
Pros:
1. Cheap housing
2. Nothing is more than 15 minutes away
Cons:
1. Awful climate
2. Terrible drivers
Hahahaha yes Saskatchewan drivers can be a serious challenge. They don’t let you in when you’re trying to merge for example
Climate is also an interesting feature however most of canada is cold, especially prairies

Con: Dancing Bob
Had to look him up lol! Dude looks like a legend
Thanks for sharing this information about Regina, Saskatchewan.
After Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you bring us Regina.
Once again, Thanks
Hey 100% you bet and thanks for watching. What do you think I should do a video about for next time?
Very useful... Juat started watching
Excellent happy to hear it. What did you like best?
Great video! Regina is such a great city 😊
Thanks! What did you like best?
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide Probably the Mosaic stadium or just walking around Wascana. Rebellion brewing is also a pretty fun place to be!
I feel like I need to visit Regina soon as it has been a few months!
Love it!
I’m moving there next week from Calgary after many months of figuring out where to go. My rent is going from 1500 a month to 700. I’m so excited.
Very cool congrats and welcome to saskatchewan, happy to help however I can
How big are your regrets?
@@papakael8247 regrets for what?
so?
@@kovalenkoihor4325 how can I help?
I just got home from 5 days in Regina as I am considering it as my new home. Saskatchewan looks like a great place to build a future!
Awesome well happy to help however I can. Send me an e-mail at 12molenaar@gmail.com
The way they treat seniors is a wef practice of discrimination. Don't worry. They are weaponizing what ever is possible through the back door can't be trusted.
That’s great
Thanks for watching
Love Regina and it’s flat landscape
It grows on you
You should add the IMAX theatre and the science centre to your list, our new sports stadium…
Wonderful and true. You mean rider stadium?
Greetings from Sturgis SK.
Hey thanks for being here!
Thank you for sharing, would you mind telling me how the job opportunities are in Regian for newcomers? (both general and professional jobs)
The job market overall in saskatchewan is great. My rule of thumb is that there is opportunity here for anyone willing to work
And even more opportunity for those willing to learn
@@LivinginsaskatoonguideI really love that place
@@Dalinecuisine awesome glad to hear it
Regina SK nothing even close to Toronto ON a guy at the Bath here. In Toronto ON I was talking to him. Someone asked him how the drive was from Edmonton AB, and they did not realize how big Canada is
Yeah whenever americans ask where saskatchewan is I just tell them it’s right between vancouver and toronto haha
I think I had Regina SK got the Capitol Point built that put them on the map 26 story Condo Apartmentt block First Nation University and the football place are the 2 nicest builds in Regina SK
@@user-yj1py2jw1i yah regina has the roughriders and capital city and also refineries and first nations university and canola crushing just the basements aren’t good there
A few Indigenous owned Tim Hortons around the area for Tax Free coffee :P
Interesting
Cons everything to do with the way the city manages road construction, parking zones are random one block a two hour zone next block isn't then next is.
@@krisbaer210 fair enough yes and regina needs to get on parking app who uses coins any more lol!
@@LivinginsaskatoonguideI parked outside the provincial courthouse on Smith Street. I used an app that I downloaded on my phone when I got there. I didn’t use it in the end as I found a free parking spot while I ran in and paid a fine.
Lived there for 20 years, now I live elsewhere, I denied for years that the water sucks, but I have to come clean, the water sucks. Tastes like a mixture of swamp and chlorine.
Lol get culligan for sure, or reverse osmosis
I often drink water out of the tap. Tastes fine to me!
@@lizwilliams14 yeah I grew up in small town BC we had hard water no filter tasted like blood
What would be the email where I can write you… we are thinking about moving to Regina
Hey thanks for being here! My e-mail is 12molenaar@gmail.com happy to help
My son is looking for a job opportunity in Regina 😢
That’s a good thing right?
Major Pro: Unk is in there

That's the old UoR
Did you go to the university of regina?
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide Lived in Regina for 10 years the bane of my existence lol jk :D
Haha that’s great. How was the U of R?
If to tell an American you’re north of North Dakota, most of them have never heard of North Dakota.
Hahaha! I hear that
very high taxes and - 50 in the winter and to many gov workers no thanks
I agree with 2 of 3 you’d mentioned. Capital city yes, extreme cold yes. Are the taxes that much higher than everywhere else? Regina is actually the most affordable major city in canada by a long shot
i work for the govt too, sitting on my but taking tax money while i watch youtube.
@@Livinginsaskatoonguidelast winter we had TWO weeks with terrible cold. However, my granddaughter went to Cuba. Stayed in the sun, ate at the resort. Got outta the cold for not much over $1,000.
So that’s why I’m finding a hard time to get a job
What is why?
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide It's just I live in Saskatchewan as well and I'm seeing a rise in people coming in due to the rise of house prices.
i thought it was rah-gee-na
Depends on the accent I suppose, but yeah it’s the city that rhymes with fun
If you're thinking of moving to Regina, or even Saskatchewan, you've gotta be insane. Other things you didnt mention is that the water is so hard that water softeners are common here. The climate is brutal here as you either sweat to death in Summer or freeze to death in Winter. There is no happy medium. And the expression is "if you dont like the weather, wait 5 minutes" (not an hour) Are you even from Regina??😂
@@MarkB.-mo3lz haha this is great. But see! The people are great right 😉
@@Livinginsaskatoonguideoh boo hoo hoo. He’s got to have water softener. What a terrible tragedy!
@@lizwilliams14 hahahaha
I’m sorry you live in Regina
Why? Lol. I’m in saskatoon anyhow but
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide Oh well in that case, Saskatoon is great. I've personally had some bad experiences in Regina
@@Ayso ah I see. What happened?
@@Aysome too!!
@@samuraiplayz8375 aye that’s sick
Land of the sister wives…. 🪕🪕🪕
Hahaha, well I cannot confirm that for certain. Although to my knowledge multiple wives is not common here I do sometimes joke that everyone in saskatchewan is related but that’s just a small town joke. I grew up in small town british columbia which the same joke could apply
pros? cheap homes cons? Natives
I feel like there is progress in all communities, everyone starts at a different place in the world
Sask has the second rudest population in canada only behind Quebec. That would deter me from ever living there. Maybe Regina is better but my time in saskatoon was horrible. Calgary is the best balance
@@joevanbaidwan3196 rude how? I am not originally from saskatchewan and did not have that experience. Some of the drivers are incompetent yes. People are welcoming at first then only guarded later when they think you might threaten their job
@@Livinginsaskatoonguide people tend to not be open to differing view points, customer service is generally poor, it seems like there just generally unmannered, and a lot of them seem to have a sense of entitlement. It’s not just my opinion a lot of my classmates from other provinces at USask felt the same way.
@@joevanbaidwan3196 sounds like a pretty bold blanket statement. I will say- saskatchewan people do have a sense of pride that can seem like entitlement. I jokingly say “yes there is a big world outside of saskatchewan, but don’t tell the locals haha”. As for service though depends where you go generally I believe it is good. Service in canada generally as compared to countries like Australia and the US is generally very good. Other points of view also I do not disagree there is a small town point of view vibe here people can tend to be stuck in the past like living in the 1980’s here sometimes
@@Livinginsaskatoonguideit’s the NDP that are stuck in the past!
We moved here many years ago from south of London, England. My sons were born here. We all have houses. We don’t have mortgages! How many othrr people can say that?
Yes. We get a couple of really, really crappy weeks in winter.
The moral of the story is - check your car battery in November. That’s what kills you in January when it’s 38 below. My older son has two cars. Neither woudl start. He borrowed his mil’s Porsche Cayenne. Even that dumped them at the grocery store. My car worked! We went and boosted him. All battery issues.
