Nice review! I’ve been using the Skypad 3.0 XL for about 3 months now - in tracking scenarios I topped my high scores within the first day. My flicking dropped off initially and I’m now seeing improvement beyond previous scores but with some time and practice. Love the sky pad, having an arm sleeve is a must for consistency though
Hey, skypad 3.0 user here. Came from a horrible clothpad & rvu to a gpx. I hated skypad at first, but honestly after a while I got better than I've ever been. I went from diamond to GM in alot of scenarios. I'm still relatively shaky, but im GM on static & reactive tracking and masters everything else. 1000% worth it!!
The trick with the skypad for stopping power is technique. The technique is learning how to finesse your palm pressure, less weight on your palm for tracking, more weight on your palm for stopping power for wide flicks, and finger pressure for stopping power for micro flicks. I Have top 0.1% static and target switching scores to back up my claims.
@@WestProter Not sure if its the way I render my videos but I have noticed youtube playback always look considerably smoother than what it actually was. Always looks about 20% smoother once you've uploaded them not sure if its a focus while playing thing, or the fact that its 60fps. I remember when I was stuck at 1200 and would watch a vod of somone getting a 1400 run and gettting frustrated as it looked the same speed as what I was flicking at when i was getting 1200 in real time. I think its not until you can actually physically get those higher scores you realize how fast you actually have to be flicking compared to what the vods look like. i've noticed this a lot in OSU! Vods as well. But yes my aim is far smoother atm than it has to be, I'm still getting used to the skypad myself. For me, the pros of the skypad outweigh the negatives only just though like 60/40. I'm choosing to overcome the negatives of the pad rather than using it for its obvious tracking strengths will hopefully deliver an overall improvement in my aim, and thus, it has so far! If my 1420 score looks smooth to you then I wonder what my scores will look like when my flicks are no longer smooth :P
I have been maining a skypad 3.0 XL for about 3 months now with an HSK pro 4k for 1+ months and it has been really nice! Still have room to grow, but so far it has been very enjoyable
It's definitely a pad that requires tighter/more consistent levels of mouse control. But if you can master that it's the most rewarding mousepad to play on. Complete user expression. Well said on tac vs tracking heavy shooters. Overall good job on your first pad review, got my respect homie 👊❤️

Back in the very early days of UA-cam actually a lot of people often did that because it was said to mitigate the reduction in quality of the final video as downloaded from youtube and HDfy it as much as possible. I'm guessing WP had to do it because of the algorithm. Not blaming anyone either way, sometimes this stuff has to be done.
@@flanovskiydtauskiy5870 I mean you need to get 8 minutes (back then 10 mins) to be able to get more ad revenue. But i dunno if thats actually the case here, might've just fcked up something while editing. Dunno, tho doesnt really hurt anyone anyways specially on such a small channel, that isnt doing it to become even richer then they already are
i am using a skypad for a year now. i switched from a plastic hardpad to the skypad. my main game was valorant the entire time and my sens is very low. im using the ginalmouse starlight pro atm and i can say, if youre willing to put in time to learn a low sens on a skypad it can have a great outcome. im playing 0.2 on 800dpi. i dont have the speed disadvantage other ppl experience when using such a low sens on a cloth pad. i put in the time with aim trainers and overall playtime to "learn" how to stop my mouse in time. before anyone asks, im immortal atm (sorry for my english, its not my first language)
Hey man! First off, I wanna say your guides have helped me tons in improving my aim! Great work! I have been doing the voltaic Kovaaks routines, but I never realized that you’re supposed to switch sensitivities based on the playlist. I mostly play Valorant, so I focus on dynamic and static clicking. I currently use 40cm/360 sensitivity. Is that a recommendable sens for Valorant? Or should I switch it?
I just came to see what mouse you are using, also change the battery of the hsk pro because a portion of the hsk pros had bas batteries that would burn.
i instantly improved consistently when i got my skypad, my theory is that my old gsr was dirty so it had shitty tracking, also i dont struggle with stopping power so this is completely fine if not better for me in valorant than a cloth pad
i've been using mine for a while now, the static aiming becomes a non issue after you get used to it, make sure to get good feet with a lot of surface area or the dust or hairs on the pad become very annoying
Important for every fingertip enjoyer on this pad: GET A CARPIO G 2.0 !!!! and this is not a joke or scam or anything. I highly suggest west proter himself tries one himself on this pad with a light fingertip mouse, im 100% he will confirm that this boosts your stability by alot, and that is without sacrificing your tracking potential. This is not some random magic trick, the thing about sleeve on glaspad is is that your base becomes unstable and shaky, while the good tracking comes more from the floaty wrist movement around your base/anchr. The Carpio basically removes the friction while you move your arm but gives you enough stability without shaky rubbery skin/sleeve contact on the pad and allows you to rotate wrist freely with a solid anchor. It needs 1-2 days to get used to but boost scores on stability scenarios by 10-15% fingergripping on skypad/glorious helios. Interestingly enough on control pads in improves tracking scores because it enables you to put less weight on mouse and more on anchor without slowing you down.
I probably won’t do another one of these unless I have a person who really exemplifies an idea I already was going to make a video about, or a person who I coach
Off topic, aim training is great and it helps your aim improve faster. But if there were no aim trainers and you were to pick one game to improve your aim at a top level, what game would you choose? If you can’t choose one game, what games would you choose?
I haven’t played enough to get an accurate rank currently but I’m pretty terrible nowadays. Back in the day before any aim training (so literally bottom tier aim) I hit g2 on my main and got an alt to plat but the last few games were mostly luck. Nowadays I’ll just play when my friends play and screw around with them. If I grinded, tried to get my game sense back, etc. I might be good, but I suck. Still it’s my first FPS so I love the game every now and then.
pretty cool video, i’ve been interested in the sky pad for a while, thanks for being in depth with your opinions and straightforward with what you feel keep up the great content!

I'm not saying your wrong, this does sound useful, but for a 1400, your 1w6ts is quite smooth.

that pink colorway is just great. wish they had this when I bought mine a month ago :(
My take is, great for tracking, don't like for anything else. Great training tool though.

7:48 to 9:18 was so informative
Dude true, I was so motivated no cap. My life changed to the better after that
It was balancing putting in important details and understanding most of my audience doesn’t care too much abt tracking

I used multiple cloth pads over the couple of years. did not like cleaning them too often that's why I tried glass mousepads
I’ve been using it for about a year now and I like it a lot.

it's a fine sens for val, outside of val play whatever.

Pro 4ks not the pro aces
@@WestProter you are correct, the hsk pro 4k is the one that has the burning battery and NOT the hsk pro.
I’m just gonna say it your siege gameplay seems to have significantly improved since one of the “Muscle memory” videos 👍
Thanks! Haven’t actually played siege in the middle just aim training tbh
great review! I just got a skypad and the hsk pro 4k so I guess we are in the same boat!

i instantly improved consistently when i got my skypad, my theory is that my old gsr was dirty so it had shitty tracking, also i dont struggle with stopping power so this is completely fine if not better for me in valorant than a cloth pad
best review I've ever seen thanks for the info and making me hungry

I only reviewed skypad because i got it for free, i normally don't buy much gear.
Good review. Can you make an analysis on LOUD Aspas aim (Like the one you did on tenz)
I probably won’t do another one of these unless I have a person who really exemplifies an idea I already was going to make a video about, or a person who I coach
can you make a review on mouse skates?
Can imagine tracking would be insane on this pad
Did you find your wrist hurt more often using it?
great video, very useful information!
Always wanted to try one but seeing as my current cloth pad is the size of zimbabwe and I use most of it, it's been hard to find one
Agreed
Actua; funny but good video, ty lmao
yo was that actual footage of you benching? if yes that is crazy
No random stock footage my editor found. My max is like 205 but I could probably hit 215 if I tried again

If it weren't for aim trainers I probably would walk away from gaming overall at this point, or at best play games once every 2-3 months.
@@WestProter You'd be missing out on a lot of good singleplayer vidya
if u put mouse on wooden smooth desk does it feel slower or faster then skypad?
this mouse pad would be way to small for me as i usually play on a 45 cm per 360 sens on every game
I was thinking about it til you said 3 hotdogs long, I have a 5 hotdog minimum for mousepad length.
Understandable
Do you recommend the hsk pro I wanted to try one?
I like it
raw accel worsens your experience with the glass pad right?
Idk didn’t try
0:04 How did you do that
Would you recommend low cm/360 on the sky pad as a training tool for breaking static plateaus?
Probably too extreme
@@WestProter I kinda thought so 🤣
I think you need a few more “this is a glass mousepad” in the description
Lmao I was hoping 1 actual human would read that
I have glass skates. I like them
That’s my dream peripheral setup.
i kinda expected that you make sens slower because pad makes your movements faster but you did the opposite.
im happy to see you play r6. what rank are you?

where did you get that wrist wrap?
With my mouse.
my guy selling his ass off dude said " you can even use it as a dog plate."
Yessir
BRO THE HOTDOGS 😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Which arm sleeve did you use on the skyPad?
some random this that came with my mouse. wouldn't recommend, as you can see it already has a second hole after a week of use.
how do i teach myself to aim for heads.
treat the head as the target, ignore the body
if it’s pink like that then yes.
do i need skates?
idrk tbh.
Wish they Made they bigger. Mine is coming on saturday. Hope it does not suck lmao
3 hot dogs long 😭
"for my Americans 3 hot dogs long" 💀
The tracking is insanely good but if you have a hair or dust on your mousepad you feel the scratching
Yes. But those scratches don’t break the skypad/effect performance
@@WestProter but it isnt great feeling
