Stoney Ridge equipment review channel. Not a farming channel.
Dude… A cow literally just had a baby right in front of you and it’s not a farming channel lol 🤣
@StoneyRidgeFarmer right? Can't please everyone.
It's Tool Tuesday, Bud
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer What a conundrum - How could I set up a channel about the day to day on the farm without showing any equipment? Perhaps set up the camera to catch the grass growing? That would be riveting with millions of views.
And there goes the cow's profit 😅
I could life the way you described a healthy birth don't change great video
60-70k for that a no go for us on our farm
im 74 not real farmer but was rasied on a small home style farm and i loved it ,,i think your doing a great job trying to educate peple on how farms are made they dont apeer by them selves THANK YOU ROBERT GUTHRIE
be careful putting serious loads on the boom when you have them extended. It increases the stress on the cylinders and the boom and they even could bend.
Looks like a useful tool. Never understand all the negativity people bring.
Name suggestion on the Cast Loader; How about Cassie?
Ab-so-lute-ly beautiful thing, watching new life on the farm. Nothing like it and it never gets old.
Oh BOY!
NEW TOYS!!
Hey Josh thank you for the video woo
Your right, that's "AWESOME", !!! 👍👏
Bet it will move hay bails twice as fast.
Josh ,
I admire what you do thank you for how you treat me & respond I feel blessed to watch you I'm am a veteran USN Hospital Corpsman and before that USAF civil air patrol cadet for 6yrs . I thank you for your wonderful service our country & I am blessed to watch your UA-cam channel I pray for you & your wife out there somewhere God bring her to you & prepare her heart keep her body safe and bless you two together may it be soon my brother.
Blessing. Name that little male calf Nuckle-head laughing 😂
I like it I used to skid logs with a skider
coming soon!
I think it will shine around the shop yard working. Probably be great moving lumber around the sawmill. Probably 100’s of uses you’ve never thought of till you have one.
In my eyes, that's a "splurge expense" & not justifiable on paper. For a construction company, it would be a different story. But for a small farm, a tractor with a loader would be a better investment. That log grapple would also be better utilized on the 3-point of a tractor as well, unless you enjoy a sore neck @ the end of the day.
I own a landscaping business and this seems perfect for that.
I am considering a Compact Wheel loader myself! As I get older the visibility in my BOBCAT is terrible. I think these are definitely the Next BIG thing in Compact equipment!
Knucklehead is a good name for 405. He lives up to his name. I like the Castloader. Doesn't tear up the ground like a Skidder would when skidding logs.
Why all the hate. Every farmer has multiple pieces of equipment and trucks. He is just trying things out to see if it makes sense. The light footprint will keep pastures healthy. If the field grass breaks it can cause disease and that leads to bare spots and that reduces the amount of feed.
Try sitting firm and use the extend pistons to load the bucket tilt back and extract to normal . Just a thought .
Cool machine, Josh. That'll be handy for sure! Wooooo!
Definitely!
It was neat to see the sped up footage of the calf being born, good stuff! 👍
Great tool! Even through I will never have a need, many of you followers might want to pay attention while Josh demonstrates this new tool.
Definitely a cool machine. Just not feasible for 99% or farms.
Looks like a really cool piece of equipment. It's going to be interesting what you can use it for? Loved watching the baby being born. Much love from our family to your family 💞
That would be great for moving hay
Was hear. Wooooo! Looks like fun
Hey Josh ,Dickinson, Texas
That was funny u said it’s easy on the ground standing in ruts that he made
Another actor to the Stoney Ridge Farm cast of thousands
Sweet new baby
That looks sick.
Get a wheel loader bucket instead of using a skid steer bucket and that will fix the problem of your bucket dumping angle.
The way it steers is very similar to a Hough loader where the bucket and cab are on the same section of frame. Where the modern Cape or Deere loaders are just the opposite. The cab and engine are on the same frame.
awesome and outstanding as always
Me again😳
I have noticed that if we feed our cattle in the evening every day-the cows give birth in the daytime. That is cool and if they need help we’ll be there,,,
That’s a nice machine
Looks like the Cast Loader would be ideal for Landscape Yards & . The little loaders definitely have their place .
I speak from experience when I say : NEVER Trust any Bull !
Mack
WOW! pay that trucker EXTRA! for getting that loader off in 1 piece! A FARM requires Various pieces of equipment and You have to get the BEST BANG for the BUCK. If One piece of gear can take the place of MANY then have to try and see how things work out.
I really like cast loader
Josh it only wags its tail cause it's happy to finally be with a new owner.😊
Niiiiiicce!! 😁👍
It would be good for unloading hay with the extending arm you can stay on one side of the trailer.
That cast loader is really versatile. Have you thought about changing out the tracts and tires on your other machines that aren't good for the land?
Doesn’t look very good as a dirt mover, but looks great for moving logs, pallets, other miscellaneous. It’ll be good on concrete, hard surfaces.
Whats the update with the raptor , what was the whining noise did they find the problem?
It doesn't look like you can add weight to the rear of the cast loader. It might be easy to lose balance if you are not careful. Also when making a tight turn on the side of a hill, it looks like it might be easy to roll over. Maybe there are folks who can clue you in on that. I just know what your video showed.
The bars on the rear bottom is where you can 240 lbs of weights
Another great time! How do you number livestock?
Josh around 15:38 notice how , to me it seemed your "notice how tight it turns" seemed to me you were on hill and looked like cab and wheels got a little rocky like it was a bit tippy.
Wooooo!!!!
What is the lift capacity without counter weights? Didn't see a spot to add the weights.
josh i counted 36 that steer isnt stupid hes been out in the real world he knows not to let any thing get closed to him because he might be a steak dinner lol
Tip over js coming,,,be safe
I'm a little concerned about how it will work in muddy conditions. Be interesting to see.
I think Oklahoma City would be a good name for 405. It corresponds with the area code and the drivers (they're knuckleheads).
The front left tire might need some air if you haven't noticed yet, 13:24
i would love one of these small ones with a gas engine on it
I've had a couple of cats give birth in my house. Miss Spots had suddenly decided she wanted to be one of my housecats. She had been pregnant before, but...one day, I heard kittens. I found two under my nightstand one morning. She had given birth during the night. I didn't even know she was pregnant! She absolutely wasn't showing. In fact, I even have a picture of her from just a couple of days before she gave birth...she didn't look pregnant. The other one was her grandmum Miss Black Mama the Feral. I knew she was pregnant when I caught her. When it was time for Miss Black Mama to give birth, I just left her alone. She had had Miss Spots mum, uncles, aunts...alone without anyone helping. Miss Spots mum had her, her littermates, her younger siblings alone without anyone helping. Miss Spots had her first litter alone without anyone helping. So, I knew, just leave the mum alone. Hovering over them and fussing about them wouldn't have helped, just stressed them out.
Mr wiggle would be a better name good video
Question was it top heavy or feel tipsy in the tight turn ?
Are you keeping your skid loader
Hello not a very attractive machine my opinion but looks like works good. Have a good day.
I think that’s gonna bog down like the wheeled skid loader
With the current system of roling the hay out . How many years do you estimate it will take to regenerate your soil?
we have done that here on our farm in va. it takes about 5 or so years. now we did cheat some and brought in xtra poop when other farms had some. no a lot. I'm sure that helped. you can dig down about 6 inches now before the orange clay sand. 15 years latter.
Josh how you do money in your farm just curious, but I have been watching your for a long time and have been seen the progress of the farm
This will be fun when you spread gravel!
Can you get a bale unloader for it?
very, Cool ! Cost to purchase?
Seems like comparing apples to oranges as far as the Centrac to this new guy...The high center of gravity would or should be cause of concern with a heavy load. Just a thought.
A week ago you were complaining how broke you were and how tight the funds were then you rolled in with a new skid steer
I am sure it is there for a demonstration use!
No way he can afford half of what he’s got by taking a few cattle to a sale barn.
That’s not what he said he said if he is going to keep on spending 10,000$ a year on hay he is going to be broke
DEMOoOOoooo!!!!!
It's a demo unit. There is a chance that he's being paid to demo it. There's also UA-cam revenue to consider. Finally, I believe he wants the cattle to pay for themselves.
👍
Did you use the $ from the cow sale for the new toy?
He said to buy hay for next year
You really need to be careful with your new toy.
If you have a heavy load with bucket ,it will flop right over
?
They have a messed up center of gravity. When I worked for a logging company we had a lot of them tip when being ran by new guys who didn’t know how to use them. Honestly they were more of a pain then a good thing, company ended up selling all of them.
I thought the cows were desperate for feed you didn't have resources for!? Then this. Congrats on the new machine but don't tell us your can't afford to feed the cows!
I think he wants the farm to pay for itself. Toys are a separate thing
bob cat makes a similar loader with a dump bed. the dumping angle is a big big no for me... the bob cat hands down over that unit.
Josh, as a retired Army equipment operator, rule of thumb, "avoid metal to metal contact..." it will save you bunches on repair cost. Good luck.
I would be worried about the stability of that unit.
Should we reinvent the wheel? Nah lets just get an excavator and work when its not wet out.👍
In the end you will come to the same conclusion
just a wheeled loader brother...been around for decades....a small wheeled loader
Fido
37?
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
Articulating?
13 is not an unlucky #. Now u want one that is 9B.
Why is 9B unlucky. B/c when humans get to that # they begin staving in real #'s
Got to see you and Stan run those. I like them better then skid steers because they don't rip up dirt/grass as turn.
Btw if you decide to replace your skid loader with this let us/me know. I know another couple people looking for a skid steer. One being DDD Dig Drive Diy and other is Farming With Duffy. So is my brother.
There really unstable if you get to much weight in that bucket and try to turn on any slope does not seem practical to me when you have a skid steer and 3 tractors with loaders on them a used dump truck would make more sense to me
More damn money spending toys.you don't listen to anything anyone tells you
What would you like me to do? I’m all ears!
@StoneyRidgeFarmer First of all you spent a lot of money on a barn that didn't need to be that big. If you looked at it like it appears to your viewers so you could have saved a lot right there. The barn is full of trucks and hot ticket items that you pick up along the way, there's no farming equipment in the barn out of the weather so it last longer. A week or two ago you were complaining that you didn't have all of your attachments together instead of driving all over to find them. I would try to get as much equipment in there as I could. I would get rid of the trucks except what you use. I think I would change your hay rotation and try to bale some of your own hay. I honestly think the best thing you have is the sawmill you could make some decent money cutting lumber for other people. At least that's the way it seems around here. I'm sorry for not being such a crank but that's just the way I was raised by my dad don't waste money and take the best care of what you have.
Stan is the man for equipment demonstrations. He would sell a bunch of boxed beef for you with crew and family cooking uploads. You could coop with This,ll do farms for processing, packaging near freezer distribution hub. Sonne sold 6 head in 24 hrs. All but hamburger. Next year sell deer leases with 1/2 of beef and harvest on the farm. Use the 50% deposit to buy extra hay. Charge for the lease and give the packed beef away. Safe food regulations are paid for by meat packingonopolies like Tyson. They close plants, fire usa workers to hire illegal aliens. Your meat direct business will blow up in support of safe food, carbon sequestration, environmental improvements. Good luck finding a used referigation freezer/cooler to dry age and smoke honey hams.
Looks great. Step 2 buy Lottery ticket! haha
