    If you don't know Nate was a Marine Drill Instructor. Look how the dogs love Nate. He doesn't confuse the dogs and sets them up for success. 😁👍

    These training videos are excellent. It gives you a chance to see the mistakes of people that aren’t professional trainers and learn from their mistakes. Thanks again for this series of videos❣️

    This guy is great and Ive learned more watching his videos working with people than his video where he shows how its done. All around thankful that he's taken the time out to show so many aspects of training.

    Thank you for these videos. I’m training my 7 month old Belgian Malinois and these videos are invaluable! I realized I was rushing through training so I’ve gone back to square one and have just cemented conditioning. He’s so cute with his lip licking when I give him the continuation marker! I feel like I’m ready for the next step. He does know the sit command but that’s all. I will start the down command with luring and take as long as he needs. Thank you again!

    Thank you. As always, it is a very interesting and helpful video. My dogs are also offering different behaviours in order to get the treat earlier. I call it a nice problem to have because it shows that they have a lot of interest and that they are trying to find out how they can do it the right way. They are thinking, and thats great. 🙂🐾

    Yes you are right, it suck. The fast pace editing making view distracted, you can do the fast edit while it is in a fast action scene but in a teaching instruction video you really have to give my eyes longer duration time before cutting to different angle. Always love the way you teach, thanks.

    Okay….I binge watched your videos before bringing home my new collie puppy (that looks very much like the one in your vids) and she is crazy smart. From day one, I was having issues with engagement but not the other commands. Within two days she would recall an acre away perfectly. BUT, it quickly became apparent there are vision issues. I first noticed trying to do engagement. I immediately booked an appointment with specialist but it will be another week (5 total) before I can identify the issue. Do you have tips for the “engagement” when there are visibility issues. She is not currently blind but definitely impaired. We are fast tracking other training just in case it progresses.

    Great content. Just ordered your book. How long should a training session with your dog be each day?

    We have an IGP trained male, 3,5years old.. the sit is always slow when a ball is in sight.. he freezes, goed down in slow motion. How do we solved this? Our female is set up the same way and has super fast positions.. we are participating the regionals in 2 week and I don’t get this problem solved. Already trying over a year 😢 with fast reward (they are German shepherds)

    I will train my dogs throughout the dog's life, why would I end an activity they love to do once they master the command? I determine the exercise according to their age and ability.

    She is telling the dog free but the dog isn't breaking the position?

    • @NateSchoemer
      @NateSchoemer  Місяць тому

      Since "free" is often used as either a release word or a terminal marker, the dog understands that it means they can either be released (if it's just a release word) or be released and receive a reward (if it's a terminal marker). However, since "free" is not a command, the dog can choose to maintain their position if they want to.

    Rosa is very insecure as a trainer. A good thing might be to let them learn on an experienced dog, to gain confidence themselves.

    I love how dogs tell on the owners who don’t do their homework. The lady in the blue coat has no clue that we know she doesn’t work with this dog much at home. She didn’t even know what her own terminal was… 🫣
