Surprised to see people saying that this mix is boring. This has guy obviously spent a lot of time with these tunes, setting hot cues/loops. It take a lot of talent to basically do live edits of these tracks whilst in the mix. Granted he did loose the phase once or twice, but he acknowledged that in the post interview, and this was a showcase of what he can do with the Pioneer kit. He had to do so much in a short amount of time, any dj would have made a couple of mistakes. Thanks dj sounds, thoroughly enjoyed.
Wow this guy is big... the tracks selection is perfect... the transitions is smooth and atmospheric... this guy rly properly using loops... I its fair to say it is one of the favorite pioneer show so far.. Thanks for the show Pioneer !!! Haters gonna hate !

Wow! Never heard of Jonty prior to this, but I was really impressed by the way he constructed his mix. Really making use of the gear, effects, etc. available in the studio.
Great set!! This is what the Berlin's electronic music scene has always been about: being creative, no rules and good techno music. Some people might dislike this dj's mixing techniques or the fact that he doesn't use all the gear's potential but at the end of the day djing is about making people dance and enjoy the music. As far as I'm concerned, he succeeded!!
You don't have to like this genre...but you have to respect a guy that actually mixes instead of just fading in and out of songs as they play out in their entirety.
Hear he died i few yars ago. Really a great artist for me(as a listener here) over a few years.... party music is important. (any age) but especially in my student time... for me: partying was alongside studying. rich souls like "these gys" chould be respected. And rememberd. RIP
I NEED that third track with the sliding bass! So Mean. Though I've never seen him, I love a DJ that can create their own grooves on the fly!!! Great Set. That third build up and drop really hit me!
To each his own; some people didnt like the music, some thought Jonty Skruff cant mix. I have never heard of him before, but while I am not fond of some of his tracks, I definately like his mixing! Very creative! Who ever thought he can't mix, I am not sure what you were listening to, but maybe the Jonty Skruff vibe isnt for you.
Those hateful comments ........ Can't appreciate music, this guy has skills, compared him to the number one dj, Hardwell. People these days, all bout big room, dubstep and shit, u gotta learn to love real music not shitty ones made in 10 mins like what those big room artist
Think he sums it up himself, not the smoothest but still a great use of all what is offered by some amazing equipment. Not my fav flav of music but really did enjoy it. Think the way he mashed it up and created his own mixes from the songs was spot on. Great to see something very different to the usual
some serious skillz on display here! Who are these know-nothings saying he can't mix? I mean really, which clubs do these ppl go to? And I use the word ppl in the loosest sense
I had to laugh at 40.34, when he done that spin back, he then looked up for the approval and........he does get the approval back. Decent mix though, had my head boppin

Its quite important guys There are a lots of genres of music and I would say that each dj plays the genre with his own style... I'm not talking about the skills. He played techno and tech house in a different way. For example chuckie came here months ago and he played tech aswell but his style was more simple and more energetic. Dont insult him... If you dont like it then turn it off, I think this genres will appear here more often.
IM not my music style plus the dj technics of this guy didnt surprised me or make me said wow .. Iknow its his style and its respected not just my cup off tea
algunos pequeños saltos en los efectos y para empatar las canciones eran muy pronunciadas n_n pero rifa (Y) Ademas miraba a cada rato al compa de lentes XD
What style of music is this considered? It's not really my style but I don't mind it. Keep up the good work Jonty and keep doing what you enjoy and love, despite what all the nay-Sayers have to say.
Good mix as a 10 year Dj myself this guy is awesome the transitions track selection sound control.ps keep Dj blend and Paris Hilton of this show only real mixers please had enough of posers bitting tracks claiming to be original fuck out of here but this here now is the shit

with all the negative comments on here it makes me wonder the term 'music brings us together' is a real crock of shit.give the guy a break. Thought the idea of mixing was to experiment....not be governed by what 'your supposed to do' with all the technology at your finger tips.
in a situation like this where your coming to show off your skills to get more publicity its not. Half the people or more posting do not know this guy, just like me. He was supposed to make a good first impression, instead he sent me looking for something else to listen to / watch. And yes we do expect them to use the tech given, but we also expect them to do so well.
well john, maybe his style of music or the way he mixed just wasn't for you. But mixing isn't about showing off....its about personnel showman ship how to feel comfortable in a situation, not how many buttons at your fingertips when you should bring a tune in or how many loops are running. like years ago if I didn't like the music a dj was playing on the radio I would switch off or listen to something else. Am just guessing that most people that have given negative comments toward this guy would love to be just in his shoes as they may feel 'they have something more special to offer. I don't like all the tunes he played but I can appreciate is offering of time to be on dj sounds show. And another thing...having all the buttons and bells and effects in the world even if you can use them well, wont necessarily make you the best. Peace.
there is a reason even the "club standard" pioneer is adding all those buttons, when a dj can use them well he will blow an "old school" dj out of the water. An old school dj would have to buy special equip just to do a loop with vinyl, and hope his timing was perfect on the in-out setting. now its just the press of a button, and you can loop multiple times over a track, create samples on the fly and dont even get me started on effects. Sure mashing buttons does not sound good, but when those buttons are mashed at the right time the sets can be amazing. I do feel that i could (possibly) do better, but ive got about 8 years dj'ing on him since ~1996. All in all he messed up on some very basic stuff repeatedly and trainwrecked far too much, to have the "global" popularity he supposedly does. As for his music selection i liked it i love house/tech house and its soooooo very simple to spin, hence why i am simply not impressed at all.
john,,,john. I really think your missing the point. Regardless of what you say this guy is working and doing gigs all over the world, so he must be hitting the right buttons, pardon the pun. And its not about old school new school as a dj your always at school learning. If so contact the guys at pioneer see if you can get on there. I would love to give you a listen. I have been djing for 30 years and to I still love to play music. But one day if your still djing you will be old school and how would you feel then? all your hard work countless hours money investments to have some new school jock just dis you for lying down foundation for the likes of them to come along and kick you to the curb. Like I said I just don't think its right to dis the guy, they have obviously got him on there for a reason. If they put some like afrojack then for me I would just unsubscribe. What iam truly saying if you really think dj sounds made a poor choice in putting mr scruff on, let them know, put your energy into that my friend.no need for the negative stuff man.peace
soundcloud.com/j-trip ..im not popular enough to afford pioneer so my sets were done with cheap ass equip.. i never dissed him as person, just pointed out his mistakes. I started out saying he wasnt that bad. That sets are supposed to be rugged and not the perfect 4 on the floor beats you hear so often now, but it was just too much to allow to pass. He will read the comments and hopefully take it as constructive criticism and get better in the future. If nobody tells you that you are sucking, how will you ever know if you are or not?
Still come back t this as 1 of my all time favourite mixes. 8 years on n jus wow man.
Me too it’s definitely epic
